  • Rare and great single. Singing his signature tune which was a hit in 1949. The interaction with the musicians is wonderful.
Jimmy appeared with an all-star group of jazz musicians at the 1959 Monterey Jazz Festival that included Ben Webster, Roy Eldridge, Coleman Hawkins, Woody Herman and Earl "Fatha" Hines. This searing, emotional performance was captured on the subsequent album, "Jimmy Witherspoon At Monterey", and vaulted him into the jazz world's leading ranks of blues singers. Just a terrific record

Jimmy Witherspoon at the Monterey Jazz Festival [live] released in 1960. The single is a shortened version on the LP.

Can't find this version anywhere. I used to have a compilation album called ''Blues Jubilee'' taht featured this version, but I've lost it. What's the album where I can find it?
Great post by the way! Thanks!!
