Couldn't have done it better myself! Great video! 🖤
Thank you very much for your kind words! It's an honor to have you around here every now and then. Keep doing your great work! 💪🏻
Omg this just gave so much more credibility 😮💨😮💨😮💨
It's funny isn't it, you hear all these wonderful pieces of music and sometimes wonder how on earth someone created them but always come back to the foundations like these doesn't it? This is what a proper tutorial looks like, concentrating on the foundations. Top stuff mate, top stuff 👍👍
My current goal is to show more of how all the pieces are put together, not just isolated techniques. Definitely going back to the fundamentals and focusing on the simple things is a huge part of it. Thanks for watching mate!
Someone else mentioned it already, but I have to agree… this is a PROPER tutorial on production and mixing… well done! 👍🏻
Thank you very much for your kind comments. I’m glad my videos are helping you out ☺️
Another very cool video deconstruction Timecop1983 Track . Alonso, you are a true master at explaining Synthwave. We are lucky to have you on board! Thanks once again! 🙂
Wow, thanks! It’s my pleasure to give you all I have!
Thanks. This was really informative. I learned a lot from this
Glad it was helpful!
I've been a fan of synthwave for a long while and always wanted to take a chance at making my own tracks. This really helped me open my eyes to how complex yet simple music can be. I followed along and created my own piece, I'm so grateful to have found your channel and excited to learn more! 💕✨🌆🚗
I'm really glad to help out my friend. If there's anything I can do for you, let me know. Enjoy the journey!
@@SynthwaveDojo OMG you responded! I'd love to be under your leadership, I can't wait to show you what I made with what you taught me. I'll admit I got frustrated with my ability and doubted myself. But with your guidance I feel like I can be a great song producer! I am eager to learn from you. You made me happy with the subtle jokes and tiny tid-bits you taught. I'll be forever grateful with the lessons. Please keep it up- what you're doing, it reminds me of my dream to be a song maker/producer. Do you know about the genre 'Hyperpop'? Cuz' I'd love to learn more, I'm hoping to make a song for my sister! 😁
@@liminaloner if you want to learn the basics of synthwave, take this FREE megacourse on my website: synthwavedojo.com/courses/synthwave-fundamentals-kihon/. I'm not too familiar with hyperpop but I'm sure that any style you want to learn you can, if you're patient and apply yourself!
@@SynthwaveDojo Thanks for the invite, I'll be sure to give it a look.
And as for my music, you've inspired me to start working on my album again, got two songs done and more on the way. 👍
@@liminaloner You can do it, keep going!
Really enjoyed watching this tutorial, thanks for making it! 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
can't wait to try the kick and white noise tip , thank you , very cool video .
Glad you liked it! Try those techniques out and have fun!
Missed the livestream but watching now! Thanks for doing these. 👍😎👍
I truly enjoy doing these livestreams. I’m glad you’re finding them valuable 🤓
I would really like to incorporate many of these elements into my next track!
Synthwave Dojo is always inspiring and a joy to watch
Glad you liked it. Thanks for your support! 💪🏻
You make some solid content here on this channel! Thank you so much for dedicating your time.
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for watching!
I just love these breakdown tutorials! I learn so much from these and i'll try and catch them as you stream sometimes as well. Keep them coming and keep synthwaving! :)
Thanks, will do!
Such a good video. So clear. I've learned a lot, and I'm really excited to finish some songs with these tips. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Do share links here when you finish any tracks. Thanks for watching.
Love the description of that mesh tom sound … DVVVVVVV!!!
🤩😆😉
Thank you very much for sharing.
My pleasure as always
Thanks for all the sharing, very useful tutorial! seguiremos viéndolo! salu2.
Gracias! 😍
Nice video! Always interesting to see how other people interpret this genre 👍🏻
Glad you liked it!
Grand!
My pleasure!
Man, great work! Thank you so much, you're very knowledgable and your style is very informative! Subbing!
Thank you for your kind words. I do make an effort to explain things so you can use a similar approach in your own tracks if you find it helpful. There’s plenty of cool stuff coming this year so that sub will come in very handy 😎☺️
I'm only on 23:21 and following along, and this is awesome! Not the same setup, but similar vibes. Using Reason 12 and the Synthwave Dojo-supplied drums, my recipe was:
Bass: Reason Europa rack extension/VST ("BA Deep Dive EX" patch from eXode "New Retro Europa" refill)
Added a sub bass with long notes: TAL U-NO-LX-V2 VST ("BASS Slab" patch from Oblivion Sound Lab's "Night City" pack)
SonicBits IO Pump rack extension effect for making the bass groove.
Tried a few presets I found on the TAL and Europa, and feels like enough to complete a full track with. I was adding way too many synths and drum layers in the past, and this video helped me learn that. What I've done by following this video is way better that anything I've done with similar synthwave tutorials, whether written or video or a full course. Thank you for your amazing talent and work @SynthwaveDojo. Your tutorials and listening to White Bat Audio on here has kept me inspired to actually complete the first song of my first EP after years being a remixer that was fumbling around just for fun, but rarely achieving anything that I was truly proud of. Your teaching style has really clicked with me, and I can't thank you enough!
I'm happy that my stuff has been helpful to you. That's why I do this. I want everyone to make the music that's in their heart, whether synthwave or not. I'm looking forward to your EP so do share when it's ready. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you. Thanks for your thoughtful comment and for your support. It means a lot to me, my friend
Cool... I am watching this and following along myself in Ableton Live 11. 🙂
Great! It should be simple to follow along in any DAW since I don’t use any special features, mostly what any DAW currently offers
Recently got the TAL-U-NO-LX. Going to have to try that white noise reverb trick! For a future video, I would love to hear you break down Marvel 83!! His stuff, particularly the Genesis album, is what got me into synthwave as a listener
Noted! I also have like 7 videos doing synthesis on Tal UNO LX so you may want to check those out too
I love you
I try my best to be helpful. Glad it's working 🤗🤩

I'm from Argentina and I use Ableton Live. Anyway, your English is very clear and fluent. Your humility and intelligence is evident, it is very easy to learn from you. I'm going to start studying your tutorials from the beginning. I see that you have started from the drums. You are very clear in your head like a good teacher. Thank you for existing and for helping us. I will not hesitate to pay for a patron or service later.
Thank you for your kind words Mariano. I recommend you get a free account at www.synthwavedojo.com so you can watch my videos there, more structured and organized and without ads!@@marianomellert1017
The snare "reverb" trick is sexy asf, thanks
Glad you found it useful. Dry or sent to reverb, that technique is very cool 😎
Hello my friend, your tutorials are really very helpful, even if unfortunately I never learned your language, I enjoy watching and listening to them. Subtitles from TH-cam make it possible :)
I just wanted to say thank you to them.
Note: You can hide the keyboard in the TAL -U-NO-X-LX with the 'hide Key' button
Glad to hear that! Oh and thanks for the tip regarding the TAL UNO LX keyboard! Keep synthwaving my friend!
Thank you for this. I like this idea of evolving a song rather than Intro-verse-chorus etc with I find really formulaic. I love songs that leave me wondering "how did they do that?"
Glad you found it helpful ☺️
im supper interested in the downloads you were talking about, when i go to the site, it asks for a username and password though. is there a step im missing ?
My website is currently down. Get the downloads here docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZbR25Xq5Em7UAw1C9YXckwSdc1IWwZxF6OzM5iudZIU/edit?usp=sharing
@@SynthwaveDojo thank you soo much!
youre the man
Are you do you make / compose Your own music? Is there on TH-cam?
Yes! You can find my music here: www.youtube.com/@kipplefactor/videos
@@SynthwaveDojo Oh that is nice! :)
@@GatisKaulinsh thanks! 😉
What is the free option to get compression on every quarter note without sidechaining?
There’s a fee VST called STFU
@@SynthwaveDojo Thank you!
Should I watch how to programm the fat bass before watching this? Is there anyhting I "need" before starting this lesson?
Great question! I say watch the video and make note of what you don't know along the way and when finished, go fill your knowledge gaps. I've got a video pretty much for anything that you don't know so I got you covered 😉
@Synthwave Dojo I want to hear this music in my car from 1988. Do you have an old car too?
I have an old car from 2015 😂
@@SynthwaveDojo yeahhhh....
What is a Key Hon?
Kihon is a Japanese word for basics/fundamentals that I learned while training karate. I use it to represent the basic techniques of Synthwave
@@SynthwaveDojo OH! I think that's pronounced 基本 but I never heard anyone say that in my dojo. Less talk...
@@greybloozyeah that's it (基本) 😊
Missing your tutorials. Have you disappeared?
Hey friend! Not at all, just taking a break for the holidays. Will resume in January ☺️
@@SynthwaveDojo wonderful news. Have a great break. This has to be one of the best synthwave tutorials on TH-cam.
Omg just get to Ableton. No slides. 9 minute intro. Zzzzzzzzz.
