Being a cgc elite member drops your grading fee to $20 per comic. It's $300 with a $150 grading credit, so basically a $150 membership fee.

I've always thought if the slabber is worried about case cost, the slab isn't worth it. You're literally counting pennies on the margin of the book is anywhere close to case cost on resale.

Great content - Another prob with low-value modern slabs... if they're not 9.8 - say, they're 9.6 or less, then, they're only saleable for $10 to $20 (if one is lucky), and since 90% of all sales are not in a store (they're shipped) then the postage breaks the buyer's back - they might buy one or two that way, but it only takes a couple of purchases to realize that it's dumb to pay $15 for a comic and then pay $15 to get it shipped to you. Also... all the on-line sellers are having to pay about 15% in fees of one sort or another - which kills the net value even more.

I will not slab anything that is worth less than $300.00. Only exception will be books that are personal favorites from childhood with cool covers that I may get encased for nostalgic/display purposes.

Ya I liked 3 Jokers it’s not the best cover though Batgirl cover on issue 2 is my favorite I don’t see why it was so hot it’s basically retreading Killing joke and Death in the family both great stories but
I don’t see it being as important as Last Ronin only being 3 Jokers didn’t continue anything going forward with those characters

There are plenty of movies that had lackluster trailers that ended up being good. The first movie that comes to mind is that Dungeons & Dragons movie from a few years ago.

comics are not a good investment. I predict in a few years the prices will drop even more.
Not that simple. All comics are not alike. Only idiots are buying modern 9.8s thinking they will get a great return. But smart collectors don't waste their investment dollars on modern comics. I've been in this hobby a long time. And I will just say that wise investors will be watching things extremely closely over the next 5 years.
@@Boxingbear In a few decades Golden to silver age comics will start deteriorating though. Paper deteriorates.
@@DaveGroschel Well, that is why the slabbing companies insert microchamber paper in older comics. It neutralizes the acids and preserves the book. Or didn't you know that ?
Once the books are archived properly, they aren't going to deteriorate. I've actually taken the microchamber paper out of books that don't need it and put it in a different comic that does. Cgc used to put it in every comic, but now they only put it comics from the Bronze Age and older.

Comics are not rare.
I’m still on the fence on picking up a YA1 even at these low prices. Probably will regret it in the future. Even the cgc 9.5 wizard variant one has dropped significantly.

Green screen doesn’t much matter. As long as I’m entertained. I’d prefer it to have 10:10 cgi. But if it’s fun and entertaining. Then that’s all that matter. Agatha does not look fun or good. IMO
