This video was actually a godsend for me. I’ve been struggling with infertility and I have had to deal with really mean and unnecessary comments from neighbors and church members around me and it’s been hard to find forgiveness for them because they’ve hurt me deeply with they’re ignorant responses to my very personal and difficult trial. Listening to this video really is helping me to start to let go of the anger and hatred.

I was 5 years of chronic illness! I was Semi Housebound, lost my health, job, finances and my fiance left me. I couldn't even look at electronic screen for 5 minutes, or hold a 10-minute conversation.
But God did an amazing work. And if he can do this, he can do it in you also. 👍🏼
I now have a Christian Channel where I encourage people and show them what God did in my life and that there is hope for you also. ✝️🔥☺️

I just love what ronnie said about when ur enemies mock you and attack you. That is powerful. Humility is underrated in this world. But God rewards the humble who abide in Him. Such great teachings from you two. I always love heartfelt testimonies and teachings. You can just feel ppl who are genuinely in tune with the holy spirit and love the Lord or is trying to grow spiritually.

One of things God that has been showing me is that in loving my enemies, I can't avoid my enemies (even if sometimes that means just mentally keeping them in mind so that I pray for them). I don't necessarily feel hatred towards people, but I'll tend to be apprehensive or scared of being around people who I know are antagonistic towards Christianity. I've been thinking about Heb. 13:6 this week, and reminding myself that people are just people. I don't have to be afraid of "enemies", I have the Lord, so I can just love them

Humility is such a big thing for this! It's so incredible to see Jesus's humility and to have his example to follow! My mind is constantly blown to think about Jesus when he was on trial- how he didn't defend himself. How, on the cross, he still said on "father forgive them..." Good stuff guys! Way to make it all about Jesus 😁

I haven't necessarily struggled with lashing out or lashing back but holding the grudge on the inside. God has told me to forgive over and over. I choose forgiveness because he says. I dont want to just stay st forgiveness though. I want to also bless them in return and keep an attitude of humility as well. I love how you guys break everything down.

  • @mer-ced-es

    Great video ❤️
I just want to explain something crucial about this topic in general: it's extremely important to not confuse Christ-forgiveness (which is from God) with niceness-submission (which is co-dependent behavior).
A lot of people (including myself) historically respond to attacks with niceness and submission because we're scared or even traumatized.
Even people who are saved by God already might struggle with the aftermath of certain childhood trauma, there's no shame in it. ❤️
For example of you were bullied as a kid and learned to be extra-nice to people in order to subconsciously avoid another attack, that would be co-dependent behavior.
In a case like that, this niceness-submission is a trauma response (the "flight", "freeze" or "fawn" response). It's a neurotic drive to not cause conflict and keep the harmony, out of fear of negative emotions, such as guilt or shame. Co-dependency is very harmful to yourself and to relationships psychologically, and I know this because I behaved like that for years - thinking I was just being "a good Christian" who never defended myself, never stood my ground etc. But I was not led by God in that moment, I was led by my fear.
However, Christ-forgiveness does exist. The thing is that this kind of true forgiveness, true meekness can ONLY come through God ❤️ us human beings are too weak, too hurt, too complex to really forgive someone authentically. But if we live seriously from the Spirit, God can supernaturally enable us to be truly unharmed by attacks and to transcend the entire conflict. Forgiveness, then, is not even an effort, but simply the natural outcome.
Hope this helps somebody! If someone has more questions about the difference between Co-dependency and Christ-love, feel free to ask me 😊💐

    • @bygracethroughfaith589
      @bygracethroughfaith589 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

This is so important, there are so many Christians who don't know if they are acting through God or if they're merely re-enacting a trauma response :(

But God so knows what we need ahead of time because tonight I found out my husband was lying about an addiction. I went from scared to sad to very angry (that's now). Literally just had a conversation/debate with someone on tiktok about manifesting. Sometimes I just want to yell at the other person for not seeing clearly, like I can't imagine this person is so "stupid".
Then I realize that I was once in their shoes. I believed the same lies they did, my eyes were not open. This helps me to stop for a second and breath. Not act with anger but to understand. It's hard to live in this world but as Jesus said, the world hated Him first. It's almost expected that people won't understand us. It just makes me sad that people say that I'm forcing my religion when I want to help by telling God's truth and my own experience with it :(

Very important topic, thank you both for talking about this. I also meet people who are enemies in a quiet mode, like it is ok if a person is screaming, at least you understand that they might hurted, but the most dangerous enemies can be in the christian community (u don't expect to meet them there) and a quiet ones, they can tell a comment, or a sarcasm, or asking too much about your personal life, or to be intolerant. it takes time to understand that they can't be trusted.....

Prayer is helping us right now deal with friction in our marriage. Also, important to remember that your spouse is not your enemy (my beautiful faithful through the storm sweet, but often strong willed wife ;)). Ronnie, I'm sure the bad comment was off the mark. People tend to be far too unkind with what they say over the internet. Keep doing what you are doing trying to help others, trusting God, and walking His way . . . if you are being attacked chances are THE enemy doesn't like what you are doing. God bless you both.

I was reading the word one night and was on this very same subject on how to love my enemies. I was asking God, how do I do that?! And no joke, I turned to Matthew 14:16 by accident and the verse says " But Jesus said to them, They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat." And right then and there Jesus answered me and i though to myself, wow! Jesus is the bread of life! We need to give our enemies Jesus. Something to eat if you will. I will continue to pray, and forgive them and show them kindness because that's what Jesus would do. Awesome message you guys! Thank you.

There’s a song the children of my church sing in their Sunday school class titled “Love One Another” and the lyrics go like this:
🎶Love one another as Jesus loves you
Try to show kindness in all that you do
Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought
For these are the things that Jesus taught 🎵
Honestly this song was the first thing that popped into my head when I clicked on this video, the world could use the advice ❤️

For people that are just down right rude, mean or having a bad day. This also works on people that are good and happy. I've always said "I hope your day is as good as you are." Idk if this relates to anything this video says, but something I’ve had to learn about loving enemies is to love them from a distance. If someone is a threat to you and your well-being, it’s okay to keep your distance from them. However, it is NOT okay to wish any harm upon them. It is NOT okay to wish for them to go to hell. We have to pray for their growth, well-being, and salvation.

I’ll admit that this is a very hard one for me. For years, I was subject to intense bullying (actual repeated verbal and physical beat downs). As a result, I became very defensive and combative as a defense thought all of that was behind me. In latter years, it has resurfaced with a vengeance stupid macho repeated confrontations from mostly guys. I’m a smaller dude but I carry myself with confidence and dignity. I don’t bother anyone yet they still come for me. Although Heaven is the ultimate goal, I still have to be a man. I don’t know how to reconcile the two.

I was thinking of you guys the other day and I saw a peice of metal, like a pole, and it was struck and bent. Then the metal was back to normal shape. And I understood your going to get beaten until you can keep your shape without getting bent out of shape. Hope that makes sense. Endure the beatings. The end result is strength. (Matthew 7:24-27)

That actually makes a ton of sense. The beatings from others hurt and it’s hard and makes you want to quit and hide, but like you said, the Lord wants us to one day not be affected by it and is slowly strengthening us over time. Bless you brother

@@RonnieandMel Thank you again for the work you are both doing. I read through the comment up to the point of "Then the metal was back to it's normal shape." and my immediate thought of both of you was your "bent" and hollow condition before you were saved and now how straight and strong, solid rods you both are by what God has and is doing in you both and how that is being passed on to others by what you are doing. God is so cool. 😎

Think that when someone is angry , he or she is hurting. Why do we hate ? Prayer takes the hurt and hate away.
