Weird written characters can still be entertaining and even relatable. The problem is that they need to be written as humans and potentially seen as weird by other characters. But still they need to have goals, set of skills, flaws and traits. They need to follow a theme so they story and them could evolve and change. The problem with David Cage's writting is that either characters are one-dimensional or they don't give away HUMAN. Also his stories have massive plot holes and unused options. He has so many good ideas, but cannot use them in the right direction
Its criminal how this whole industry is controlled by the whims of people who think looking at a good looking game makes up for any interesting gameplay and "journalists" who honest to god will tell you movie games are the pinacle of what video games as a medium is able to produce. Its depressing.
Detroit is phenomenal, heavy rain and beyond are pretty good, I honestly enjoyed them. And I say that while I've 100% all of them so I've seen every ending and almost every decision possible
The only David Cage game worth a damn is Detroit - Heavy Rain is so bad - I was cracking up at the bad voice acting the entire game - Beyond was annoying imo - I just finished Platniuming Detroit Become Human yesterday and it’s been one of my favorite games of all time since 2018
My guess is no one wants to produce his ideas, so he went to video games which have a lower requirement. Plus he doesn't have to try hard to make his games deep and artistic.
David Cage is also like extremely weird and toxic
I didn't look much into that side of things, but watching interviews with him, Dafoe, and Page you can see the tension for sure
hope the algoritm treats this video right
haha thanks man, me too

David cages games always have great underline ideas but ham fisted delivery. "I have seen two epileptics share a bowl of noodles with more grace."
He just tries so hard to be quirky or different with it sometimes

Going back for every ending of Detroit sounds really enjoyable ngl
