Farang kin lao kao= foreigner drinking “white spirit”
Lao kao is distilled from fermented rice. It contains about 30% alcohol and it’s not something you would drink for the taste..

I think Moonshine is Ya Dong, dangerous stuff they mix all sorts in that that can make you go loco pretty quick, is white spirits a different thing not sure?

Ya dong is just lao kao mixed with different herbs and other plants.
Ya= medicine, dong= pickled or something like that I think. Not 100%sure. Anyway, ya dong is said to boost your libido among other thing.

Chad! Another epic video. As someone that wanders through SE Asia every year, I have to say these types of videos are my favorite. I’ve been to a lot of places in Thailand, but it’s always awesome to see trips off the beaten trail, and see a video that inspires a little adventure.

I loved your explanation of the friendliness of the Thai people, especially in Esaan. We are stuck in Augusta right now until things open back up. We could come back now, but it would be expensive and we would have to jump through lots of hoops, including the 14 day quarantine. My wife had a procedure in the hospital last week and her nurse asked where she was from. When she told her Thailand, the nurse said she would never go there because of some documentary she saw of 60 minutes, or some such show of some woman getting caught carrying drugs. I told her that she would be much safer anywhere in Thailand than she would be leaving downtown Augusta at night where the hospital is located. I told her that I had lived in many countries around the world and Thailand was the only one where I would head out to 7-11 walking at 2 AM to get some coffee. Well, I guess I would have to give Germany a close 2nd, but I don't know how much it has changed since the mid 70s.

That's why i love Thailand and most south East Asia, the people are so nice and friendly and worm and welcoming, they are always nice to you, i did road trip in Thailand by myself and it was amazing experience, i never would do it in countries in east Europe or even in the USA, it's too dangerous.

At almost 69 years old I can say that wandering around Thailand on a motorcycle have been some of my best memories. I hope to do it again,we'll see what life hands out.

I had those same thoughts. Probably wouldn't even need a hammock...doesn't take much moonshine to make any surface quite comfortable.

Super smart to buy your own helmet Chad, that's exactly what I would do each time. I would suggest buying one a size smaller, it should fit snug. A loose fitting helmet will not provide good protection and will likely come off in the even of an accident. Even if strapped.

Make sure you go to Wat Phrathat Pha Sorn Kaew. Its before the state park entrance. Then the ride at the southeast end of the park to Petchabun is the super curvy road you will love it.

Been following this channel for a while, Chad has seen more of Thailand than I have and I am Thai. Although, there is a lot more to do in BKK and many, many other areas/activities/locations that Chad is missing out on or hasn’t covered yet. (BKK, is a city, but its misleading, as it is also the name of the province.) Anyways, great channel and definitely a great guy. My lifetime ambition is to spot Chad randomly filming in the middle of BKK and photobombing him.
