Understand the Quran to understand your religion. This can be done in two ways: by following its translation or by learning the Arabic language. Translation is no substitute for any language, so far as understanding the comprehensive meaning of words and expressions is concerned. On the other hand, learning Arabic will give you full direct access to the meanings of the Qur'an and you can feel the true meaning and depth of the Qur'anic language. It will also help you memorize the verses of the Quran without any extra effort. Not only this, learning Arabic enables you to understand the various supplications and glorifications used during prayer, thereby enabling you to feel closer to Allah and reap the full benefits of prayer.
