Very well said. It's absolutely dreadful. The pictures and videos swarming social media the last couple of weeks are devastating to see. Preventative measures are needed!
Well said Ash and you get the point across very well, we all have a responsibility to help these environments. it’s so sad to see all those dead fish and as you say a horrific thought that these drains may one day not hold any Pike?? I watched the news and Look North mentioned it but it was from what I could tell been played down just how bad it is, the reporter said that the EA has been monitoring the situation and the water course has not degraded any further and was in a stable situation with no further fish loss! I really think they have not portrayed the full extent of the damage and fish loss in the area. Maybe worth sending your videos to Peter on Look North and getting this really out in the open!
It annoys me that when these events happen and it does make the main news it can't get down played. The issues need to be reported on reality not a watered down version.
Well said Ash, a reactive Environment Agency is as good as useless - we need a proactive EA, one which recognises the potential future issues such as depopulations of fish stocks and begin working on a solution now.
Well said Ash I went down there on Saturday wish I hadn't. The Bargate was where I caught my first fish my first wild carp numerous good catches of Tench Bream and Roach my mate even caught a terrapin. Sad times mate
Its so sad to see this pollution incidents occurring on regular bases lately. Nothing being done about. We need top angling figures to voice it allover the media and hope for the best.
