      @@kristoferkoessel4354 it’s good. A lot cleaner than the other channel strips. It’s modeled after the K board and the bus comp is great. Really can’t go wrong with choosing from any manufacturer but it’s definitely a sale u don’t wanna pass up, plus you get the SSL 360 software that gives u a visual of the console emulation your applying to tracks. Also plugin alliance has a sale for $29.99 on their SSL channel strips and other particular products they haven’t excluded.

    One request, lol. Would be possible to add just a few short audio examples while reviewing the plugin. Specially when it's compared against the competition.

      Hi Dany. Thanks for the support.... Much appreciated. 👍 We're avoiding audio examples as they are so subjective and gear/system dependent and there's usually loads already online... But we've got lots more reviews coming... Stay tuned to the shit... 🤣🤣🤘

    This is the cleanest sounding channel strip out of the 3 native ones. My favorite is the 4000 E. Seems like it’s a perfect mix between the 4000 B and the native 9000 K.

      I’ve got both. Vocal strip has de-Esser, de-ploser and simple eq and compression..it’s good, but the channel can do everything else very well. .. including vocals 👍

      @@StudioLife101 Thanks for the reply. I've seen many comments talk about using the CS2 with a Compressor at the end but many people have said the CS2 is that good, it's all you need. I guess it's all depended on what your needs are at the time unless CS2 really is all you need minus reverb.

      @BojanBojovic ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lX-NDR Thanks. I am sorry but this is very subjective, almost religious description. 🙂
      Technicaly all SSL channel emulation plugins have almost identical EQ curves, the difference is mainly in saturation and dynamic section with the BX channel being very different than all others as there compressor does not react unless the input is driven 10db, even then it does not sound like all the others.
      On the other hand the gate works as it should on bx channel, and not very good on the SSL Native plugin.
      In the end they are very similar so no need to go this route but having all of them, like I did. 😃
      In reality I get almost there same results with almost any plugin chain, because it is me that makes the decisions. If you like this channel strip ergonomics then it is ok to have it, but as for the ability to have a good mix, there are just a few plugins out there that will make your mix sound bad, so do not worry about the stock plugins. 🙂

    Funny, I always liked SSL's plugin better than the brainworx attempt. Not saying PA's versions suck, they are cool, but the SSL got something pristine to it, it is hard to explain. Brainworx' TMT is something I just don't get the point of. I can't even call it an advantage. Let me elaborate what I mean. The differences of each channel only become obvious if you split one signal and feed two channels with it (on the real console). The phase differences that occur due to different Q and Freq settings in the EQ section or a slightly different harmonic spectrum due to minimal variations in the compressor circuit then creates that "3D" effect that can be perceived with one signal, yes. BUT: If we mix like we've been doing it back then (in my case on a Neve VR Legend) we wouldn't waste channels for the sake of those tiny differences by feeding two channels the same signal. My tracks of a drum group looked pretty standard: BD Sn Snbot HH TT1, TT2.... you know the rest. Now, how would one tell if there is a difference between the shelf band of the BD channel and the HH channel? How could that affect anything? There is no such thing as making a single mono signal 3D just because the shelf of channel 3 is a microbit different than that of channel 1.
    Of course, if you recorded a multi-mic'ed orchestra (not talking about the section mics!) then those differences might make a tiny, tiny difference. But you could get the same result by setting the frequencies not by numbers but by turning the knob by eye and ear, just like you would do on a console. It's highly unlikely that you nail the exact same frequency setting and voila, there is your difference. That's why I couldn't care less about that TMT and why I think that was just a very smart PR move for mixers who started doing that craft after those analogue days.
    Sorry, that became a little unplanned rant.
    What I actually wanted to say was: The biiig advantage of SSL's channel is imo the 360-software. That's the workflow I've been missing and it's exactly what SSL is giving me. The Waves Mixhub was a similar thing but way to heavy on the CPU.

    AlexB 4k Channel, with the Analog Obssesion SSQ with the Timp P L bus Comp, or Sand 3 by Acustica Audio, those two options sound much more analog and real than this...matter of fact the SSL V6 channel strip 1 sounds better than the their channel strip 2 or the latest 2.2 update

    • @vigilantestylez
      @vigilantestylez 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Mansardianyou know what a 9K is? It's a 4000 without the capacitors in the signal path, and a more powerful computer. I agree it is clean. SSL in the form of their channel strips are what was intended. EQ, compression, and gating without color.

    • @vigilantestylez
      @vigilantestylez 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, the channel strip 1 seems to have brown knob E series curves. Even though they it was the G and E curves from the 4000 series desks. But was the algorithm ripped straight from the C200 digital console. Which is not a bad thing at all! The bells cramp, but only slightly. The channel strip 2 has the G series pink knob curves, and the E black knob curves, also no cramping, and has oversampling, but not because there is any saturation because both don't have them, but SSL says for better operation of the component modeling whatever that means, because the channel strip 2 has no harmonics, same as the first one.

    New SSL Strip Sheriff in town.....ALERT ******* The Sand Acustica Audio Pre + G+ Strip + IK Media MixBox Bus Comp with a Tiny Bit of Sat X.... nothing beats the 4 of them on an Analog Bounced Bus.....the 4 of them sound Amazing......The Trick with Alot of these plugins...is....the best combination of Digital + Acustica Audio + Nebula Plugins...give you an Advantage...because now your getting the Tone, Depth, and the Harmonic Distortion of the Hardware all in one...but you have to sound experiment......
    Another Example.....Magenta Strip + Mojo (Nebula) (Manely Setting) + Magenta Stereo Compressor....you have a Full Mainly Mastering Rack Chain...in your DAW.....
    Im convinced....these combinations for the Home Producer Put the Hardware being needed in a Home Studio out of Business....you can have a Manely and I dont....but once I put those three Plugins...on any bus and run the through any Analog Signal Chain and back into my DAW, Im going to have the SAME SOUND and the SAME QUALITY....
    The Magenta Bundle and Nebula Mojo...Cost $230.00 Add a UAD Interface...SoundCraft Mixer and a WA GComp....$2700 a Manily Comp by itself is about $5500
    for $5500 you can put a whole home studio together....LOL.......

    Well. Like the GUI, works great with the UF-8, but for me it's still an SSL. All things being even, I would go for the Brainworx strips. And I have to tell you - to be quite honest - I just absolutely hate the English. Full disclosure: Since I was adopted and had no idea about my paternal family I took a Living DNA test. Even though you already know what I'm going to say I will do so anyway: I'm 100% ENGLISH. G*DDAMIT!

      @BojanBojovic ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StudioLife101 I never worked with the real 4K console, however the BX dynamic section is the only one that differs a lot from all the others, I personally do not like it as the input need to be driven 6 to 10 db higher to get similar results, even then it does not "bite" as much as others. With that being said, SSL Native Channel Strip 2 Gate does not have that famous CLICK when it is used with fast attack settings, BX, EV2, CLA, all have it so not sure how faithful the SSL native plugins are. :)
      This is all gear snobbery of course, oversampling is important but not crucial, the fact that a plugin does not work the same as a real thing (which also does not work the same as other consoles of the same kind all around the world) means nothing really. A good song, good performer, and good engineer is probably 90% of a good product, the gear must be very bad to stop those 3 to give a good finished product in the end. :)
      I have them all, maybe EV2 and CLA MixHub are used most of the time, I do not like BX because of how the dynamic section works, also TMT is really funny.
