    Hello Kai. Very good video and well explanatory as always. But I would like to ask a question.
    In other videos you said that the fact that you could not transfer the shares to another broker was a negative thing, so why did you choose T212? Consegue fazer mais alguma coisa com a T212 que não consiga usando a IBKR e a Lightyear? I already have some money invested in T212 but I am thinking of stopping using it because it is not possible to move to another broker.
    Thank you so much for sharing the information!!!

      Hi Luis, thanks a lot and much appreciated (by the way my wife would like to give that name to our kid if ever we get a boy, I said as long as it's not written Lewis, since I'm not a fan of Hamilton:) Anyhow, you made a good point and in hindsight I should have probably mentioned that, will do in future update videos. It is true that this is a limiting factor, they did say that this would be something they might work on in the future, but it may or may not happen. For me personally I see it more as a diversification play. Since I maxed out my Lightyear fund protection limit, I would not invest more with them at this stage. IBKR I use for my long-term dividend growth investing. T212 would be more for me in the future if ever I feel like buying a bit more risky tech stocks, I think the fact that you can get them commission-free makes it very attractive and I would use them more for buying and selling than holding them forever, so more trading focused that long-term dividend growth. Sadly many brokers do have this limitations in place of not letting you transfer your funds out, so T212 is not the only one, but apart from this I genuinely love the interface, platform, features and right now parking some funds there to get some interest and of course free shares from referrals are also a nice bonus which you will get as well so it's a win-win scenario which in my eyes just makes sense. Cheers

    I never mention this to you , as i thought you had a account with trading 212 and didn't want to mention it to the public.
    I dont talk about different platforms and thought you were the same ?
    I dont know anything about having more than £85,000 on this platform.

    Hello Kai, is your money insured when it’s gaining interest (EUR, $….) ? And if yes what is the insured amount?

    • @SmartMoneywithKai
      @SmartMoneywithKai  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi and good question. On the app they will show you what part is in a bank and thus protected up to €20K and some funds will be in a QMMF where it's not protected thought the QMMF by nature are highly liquid and generally very safe. This is what it says on their page 'Where we hold your money with a bank, you are protected by the ICF up to a limit of €20,000 and are additionally insured up to €1M by Lloyd’s of London.
      Money placed with a QMMF is treated as an investment and not as money held with a bank. In the unlikely event that the QMMF fails to maintain their low-risk strategy, as with any investment, the protection will not be available. We carefully select all QMMFs to ensure that they are highly liquid, stable in value and maintain their highly regulated status.' Right now it shows me 100% of my money is in the bank so fully protected 👌 Hope this helps. Cheers

    Which is more suitable for passive investing in SXR8 - Trading212 or IBKR?

    • @Shinoku911
      @Shinoku911 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have tried all the mainstream brokers and decided to go with IBKR, i would say for Europe investors there is no better broker by far. (IBKR is also preparing for release of their brand new desktop app)

    • @SmartMoneywithKai
      @SmartMoneywithKai  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi and good question. I think it depends on the amount you plan to invest. If it's lower amount, T212 might be better since there is no commission and they allow fractional shares. On IB for example I could only buy full shares of my favourite VUSA ETF, but ultimately both are great options. IB needs to improve interface and T212 would need to add the feature of letting you transfer your shares to another broker, but I guess there is no perfect broker out there, but both of them are fantastic options either way. Cheers

      @@SmartMoneywithKai I think fractional shares can be purchased now on IB as well. There is recurring investment that can be set and it can be set with currency amount as well.

    Does Trading 212 offer LISA in UK yet as well as the S&S isa ?

    • @SmartMoneywithKai
      @SmartMoneywithKai  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! 🌟 Great question! As of my last update, Trading 212 doesn't offer a LISA (Lifetime ISA) in the UK. They're all about that Stocks & Shares ISA life for now. 😎 But hey, the financial landscape is ever-changing, so who knows what the future holds? 🤷‍♂️ Keep an eye out for updates, and make sure to diversify those investment vehicles! 🚀

    I have been using 212 for investing for around 2 months now. Like you said I try to diversify with the different brokers. What does the 1M euro insurance mean? Is my money insured up to 1M of 20 thousand?

    • @SmartMoneywithKai
      @SmartMoneywithKai  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Smart move and good to hear Ward. Good question, they leave it a bit vague. When I spoke with them they said that this is in addition to the €20K which is the base and a 100% guarantee. So in case you would invest more with them, then this additional insurance from their side should kick in to cover you as well as it apparently is €1m per client, which does sound very reassuring, but lacking a bit of more details as to how it works exactly. Still overall I like how clearly they state this, with other brokers, it's really challenging to find that info in the first place.
