Photorealistic Drawings Just Take Time

  • Photorealistic Drawings just take time and after months of work it was so satisfying to be able to deliver the finshed picture to the client. In this video I show how I create the foreground element of the picture and just add a very subtle background tone to add depth. As a wildlife artist this is not a subject I normally do but it was a very special situation and Captain Jack's story will be covered in a future video titled 'The Story Behind The Picture', which will also go into the thought process that went into creating this drawing.

    Thanks Jamie, I really appreciate your detailed descriptions of the drawing process. I'd love to hear more about how you determine the composition of your pictures, i.e., placement of subjects on the paper. Keep up the good work!

    Great work Jamie. Always good to see new content from you on TH-cam. The final piece is of course stunning. Contrast, value and composition all the perfect accompaniment to this masterclass in detail.

      @@JamieBoots Always good to enjoy the process, particularly on a large piece that's going to take time. If you ever get the time Jamie, a video detailing how you ship your large pieces would be much appreciated. Keep up the good work.

      @@jpwartist Thank you for the idea will see what I can do. I usually deliver originals my self as it's good to meet the customer particularly with a project like this. There are companies that are specialised art deliverers that will handle framed and glazed pictures. The one that I know of is called Fragalistics in the UK but there are many more.

    I visit your channel Jamie before starting a new drawing. We draw completely different things - I draw total fantasy, no realism, skulls, creatures and monsters... but watching you at work gives me a huge motivational boost. Greetings from Poland ...also I need to know your secret behind the baseball cap, because I don't believe that it doesn't have some magical power and influence on how amazing you draw :)

      Thank you so much that's great to hear. The cap was originally to stop my hair from getting in the way of the camera so unfortunately now powers🙂

    Jamie, as always your work is impeccable. Truly a gift to watch you work, I liken it to the relaxation and calm that comes over a person that is watching the clouds pass through a perfect blue sky. Amazing stuff!

    Hi Jamie. How long did this picture take to complete and how often did you work on it?

    • @JamieBoots
      @JamieBoots  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It was a lot of work and it took about 9 months to complete. I worked on it most days. In terms of how long each day, it's difficult to say as some days were longer than others depending on how it was going. Thank you for watching.
