The majority of us Indiana fans are secretly rooting for Purdue right now. We respect Matt Painter and that group of guys he's put together. As weird as it is for us to say Boiler Up
Thank you, we are hoping for IU to get back on track too. I doubt Woodson is the right guy though, thought you should get Dusty May. Thank you for the kind words!
I went to school with Hummel. We weren't friends or anything but he came to my frat often and I knew him. When he got hurt he was on crutches and some girl looked at him, shook her head, and said "he used to be so good". I literally felt the soul crush. So glad to see him happy about this year's later.
Great discussion - bringing the facts and reasoning on what's actually happening on the court. I've never seen a game change more around the basket as when Edey is on the floor. Just watching the way opponents move into and around the paint is crazy to watch.
The main issue I have with the foul discussion is not that UT didn't foul Edey, because they did; but the officials never even considered calling fouls on Edey. He tossed UT players aside on rebounds, and set a few hard screens that were excessive. He gets position in using/pushing with his elbows, and plants his shoulder into the opposing players in front of the rim. And he received only ONE foul call the entire game????
@@brianstinson7757 I know where you’re coming from but the reality is that in every one of those situations he’s getting pushed just as hard so it’s hard to justify a call
As a Tennessee fan, I don't think the refs called our on-ball defense vs Edey incorrectly. In fact, they probably missed a couple hits on the arm. But, what he gets away with fighting for position, rebounding, and just the refusal to call 3 seconds is infuriating to watch. In the end, the game could've gone either way. Tennessee missed their shots down the stretch, and purdue made the winning plays. I hate that the 2 biggest games of Vescovi's senior season ended with him battling the flu... not having him this weekend was a huge loss for Tennessee. Congrats Purdue, they made the winning plays down the stretch.
Agreed, from a Purdue fan I wanted to play Creighton cuz Knecht is amazing and the team plays so hard on Defense and Ziegler was not healthy in Hawaii. You all had a great team. Wish you had got the South bracket, think you deserved it more than Marquette. I agree with you on the referees, and I think what you said is the reason why he gets away with fighting for position, cuz the refs know they are not calling all the fouls when he has the ball and so they let him get away with a little more. It’s really the only way to balance the competitive realities of a guy that is as big and physical as Zach. I think your take above is very fair and balanced. Go. Vols and hope Rick Barnes is able to take ya’ll to a Final Four. He deserves it and all you fans do too. Class acts all around!
@@blkvicePU not everything - just something. He camps out in the lane and commits some fouls when rebounding - just like ANY other low post player. But he got one call on him the whole game? He set one screen on ZZ where he stepped into him and flattened him, and no foul?
@@blkvicePU The teams are so even and the smallest of factors make a difference... lets say they DO call the fouls they're supposed to on Edey and he has to sit for a few minutes... him on the bench for even 2-3 minutes in this particular game would've probably changed the outcome. Edey should've had to deal with foul trouble just like the Tennessee bigs did... all we're saying.
Edey had 3 push offs for offensive rebounds an Tennessee got called for the foul that’s why he’s so hated it’s like the refs are blind when they officiate him
Sounds like you are bitter and from TN. Zach should have more fouls called on him…and that Purdue squad fouls less than most teams you see. I know it’s a shock but hard work and discipline takes away fouling. Should evolve beyond the racists comments. He’s from Canada and now West Lafayette.
You all are giving Purdue too much credit for Edey being tall. The only reason Purdue answered TNs run wasn't becuase of heart or team unity. It was becuase they refused to do anything other than give their tall guy the ball inside. They stopped playing basketball and went full cheat code.
This isn't cheat code it is how basketball is traditionally played, tall guys have an advantage and they historically dominate. Wilt, Kareem, Olajuwan, Shaq, the list goes on.
Purdue Tennessee has been an epic blood bath in recent years.
Purdue Tennessee becoming a classic football and basketball
So, did we win the Maui Invitational 2x this year?
😂 boiler up

@blakewidmer Kind of ironic since most Purdue fans felt the same about Painter

Helluva game! Knecht is a beast!!!
TN and Purdue are always tough and close!!!
Knecht was a fireball that Purdue had to learn quickly how to subdue the flames....

I hope Purude wins it all! The Big 10 needs it!
Knecht was a threat for a while.... great game. Both teams did an exceptional job.
Thanks fellas for this post game analysis! We Purdue fans appreciate it.
Boiler up! 🚂🏆
Lego
Heavyweight battle... Fantastic game by Edey and Knecht!
Thanks Guys!!!
It's funny everyone complaining about Edey.

There are lots of zebra complaints for sure.

Stop it Edey has 3 push offs for offensive rebounds an Tennessee got called for the foul
So, the refs are allowed to not call all of the fouls committed by the defense but they have to call everything on Edey? GTFO.

Purdue is a great team, but Foul Ming being able to murder people is ridiculous.
So he gets hacked 3 times every time he gets the ball and gets 1 foul called? Gotcha fairweather fan. 👌🤡

“You’re giving Purdue too much credit for giving the ball to the guy who kept scoring”
What rule did they break?
Purdue cheat code = Pass to the tall guy who scores (checks NCAA rulebook....... um what page??)

Haters are going to hate I guess. No cheating at all.
