You have a truly calm nature, patience, and total ability to teach things that are complicated at their root, but break them into simple bites of clear understanding. So going back to your early comment. You have one lucky 1 year old as he will always have a great teacher and leader. Thank you for turning a lesson into amazement at so many abilities all at once.
Thanks, Chris. I've struggled with (i.e. I can't do) many of Nuno's tapping sections. I've had this song down except for the tapping for a while. This helped tremendously. I was so happy with how well you walked us through it, I went ahead and bought both your books.
Stunning playing. Beautifully broken down and done so well that I feel like I could almost pull that off with a few months of practice. Virtuoso playing mate. You’re brilliant.
honestly out of everything its those cheeky pentatonic runs that are getting to me lol. gonna have to spend more time on getting em down. but thank you so much fr Chris you are a legend, a great teacher and always looking effortless. much love
Absolutely AMAZING job, Chris! I can’t even stretch my fingers that far in Section 3. Always loved Nuno! 1 of my many favorite guitar players! Keep rockin’, my friend!:-) \m/
This lesson is outstanding. He makes a difficult solo comprising multiple techniques understandable and helps you to achieve a great result if you are willing to put in the work.
question: how did YOU learn this solo? By listening to the music only? or by watching Nuno do it live or by watching his tutorial or by watching some other YTer's tutorial or a combo? Also, what's up with the fingernail pick? How does that not wear your fingernail off? also, how do you do any significant alternate picking that way? Lastly, do I need to know what cheeky means to play this solo?
I’m here bc I’ve always played section 3 like the tab I’ve seen and I’m tired of the string skipping mistakes getting tangled in the 15th-18th fret mess it becomes. Lol. Ty for this lesson
In all honesty 22 frets is not enough. You need a 24 fret guitar if you are into shredders. But that 21+1 fret will cost you a lot more than a 21 frets, which is hilarious. But if you are s country chickenpicking hero you’ll do fine with 21 because you shred from fret 1 to 12 lol.
Hello Chris! I love your videos, you look like a talented guitarist and I would like to ask you to do a guitar tutorial that you could do thanks to your knowledge, it is a video where you explain the style of Dimebag, but not a video like others where what they teach are Dimebag licks, what I would like to learn are the resources that Dimebag uses in their improvised solos in concerts (More specifically, in a guitar solo that Dimebag improvises on the date 1-15-90, you can look for that solo in youtube with that date), and if you could take a few licks out of that one, I would really appreciate it! Besides, I think you would make an excellent video about the resources used by Dimebag, the truth is that I have not seen anyone explain that part of the Dimebag style, as always, thanks for being there for us teaching us to play like a whole professional! I hope you read this comment, Regards Chris :D
OUTSTANDING lesson--THANK YOU! Would you possibly consider doing a lesson for the Extreme "Money In God We Trust" solo? I can't figure out the beginning climb up the neck, but have a feeling you could!
Hey chris!! If you see this, I want you to do some lessons of songs of "glaukoma". It's a spanish band, but they have very very good guitar melodic solos, you will love them. If you can do a lesson of the final acoustic solo of "whisky vs fanta" by glaukoma I will appreciate it a lot. And thanks for all your great lessons, keep on rockin'😜😜
from my perspective Nuno knows theory, i've been learning some Freidman solo's and I can't figure Marty chooses some of them notes. which I really appreciate. But some parts seem messy.Nunos stuff is more coherant.
I was wondering: have you ever tried breaking your fingers on the solo of Hip Today? This has to be one of the most challenging Nuno solos around. Especially with the weird accents and all.
16:23 That second beat of measure 12 is confusing! It's tough to follow beamed notes like that if they're not grouped around the beat, it'd be easier to read that if the last 8th note in that grouping was written as a 16th note tied to a 16th note of the next group. Same duration, but at least it's clear where the beat is.
Could you teach us how to play "Sulfur" by slipknot please! I already know to play psychosocial because of you (thank you so much btw) but ive been trying to learn how to play that solo but i cant find anyone to teach it
I like your tone better than his. He's got that weird neck pickup tone that is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. I love their stuff and when the guitar is buried in the mix it works, but every time I've tried to watch him play by himself to learn any of his stuff I couldn't take it. I was such a fan I bought the N4, but it was definitely made to sound like that and I eventually sold it off for a big loss.
Chris, what is your opinion on the Two Way Pickslanting technique covered by Troy Grady in his Cracking the Code lesson series? It's a different approach or improved method of really increasing speed th-cam.com/video/9B4Ta6tyxr4/w-d-xo.html Thanks!
or i always want Requiem, but there's two snags, it's Drop C# and it has wah in so he's going to have to use his PRS or his jackson down to C# and then stand up to do the wah demonstration cos that's how he feels comfortable doing the solos when using wah
Nuno is extremely good.. One of the best to ever do it. Killer job as always Chris.
Rob Jarrett nuno is awesome and hot as fuccckkk
He is EXTREMEly good.
One of the best rock solos ever. Nuno really builds it up to the climax. Very talented of you to learn this Extreme(ly) difficult solo so convincing.

Absolutely AMAZING job, Chris! I can’t even stretch my fingers that far in Section 3. Always loved Nuno! 1 of my many favorite guitar players! Keep rockin’, my friend!:-) \m/
Only just stumbled over your channel - wow! Great job, fantastic playing, lovely teaching style - awesome! :)
I was only watching the video of Brian May expressing his love for this solo on TH-cam yesterday. Not yet, but this solo is totally guitar goals.
This lesson is outstanding. He makes a difficult solo comprising multiple techniques understandable and helps you to achieve a great result if you are willing to put in the work.
Thanks buddy. I try to actually teach haha
@@chriszoupa7898 NP you deserve the praise Chris as this is a monster lesson and not for the faint of heart LOL.
Maybe someday ill be able to play this 😁 you make it sound so easy mate 👍
Absolutely smoking dude, thanks for the lesson, appreciated!
I have been hoping for this thank you!
The best extreme lesson ever

Lot's of slowing down, tabbing note for note. Takes a while haha
Damn you're so good!
This is my fave Nuno solo.
Nuno is excellent ! Great Chris

Awesome man...Nuno Bettencourt is such an underrated guitarist
Love your vids Chris
Brilliant 🤘🎸🎼🎶
Hardest thing is the feel of this tune and solo!
I’m here bc I’ve always played section 3 like the tab I’ve seen and I’m tired of the string skipping mistakes getting tangled in the 15th-18th fret mess it becomes. Lol. Ty for this lesson
16:20 Thank you
Is that all you got? ;) Damn Chris, just excellent. Thank you!
Great video as always. Roots Remain solo? It's very cheeky. You love cheeky.
Very good! Thanx
thanks for your job
Condolences to 21 fret guitar owners. Your life will never be complete until you get that 22 fret and complete the tapping part.
that's why i never use fender, except for the strats and teles that DO have 22 frets, but i prefer 24 frets like on ibanez guitars
I did it in f#m in standard tuning

Most people that could play this wouldn’t have a 21 fret guitar lol
Zoupa you are my friend
Thank you so much.
You've had made a miracle
Too kind dude
Please do Megadeth's Kiko Loureiro solo in 'Dystopia'
YES!
It has been done
Haha! I remember hating extreme but really loving this song and especially the solo! 👍
It's all about Nuno. They are definitely in the "guilty pleasure" category.
Why guilty? When I think of a guilty pleasure I think of Taylor swift or something like that, not a band like Extreme.
That's an incredibly valid point.
Isn't Taylor Swift a much more influential guitar player than Nuno? Thought I read something about that?
lol that last comment has to be trolling...
A year later and I'm back here trying to learn it again. Still messy as hell but I'm getting there
I don't know if anyone said this but.. Hey, Congrats on being a dad. It's amazing isn't it?!
Yes, finally!

from my perspective Nuno knows theory, i've been learning some Freidman solo's and I can't figure Marty chooses some of them notes. which I really appreciate. But some parts seem messy.Nunos stuff is more coherant.
Funny you should spell coherent the way you did.
More Arsis please!!
Great lesson!
Is he playing with his nail ?
I was wondering: have you ever tried breaking your fingers on the solo of Hip Today? This has to be one of the most challenging Nuno solos around. Especially with the weird accents and all.
is he playing with out a pick?

Any possibility you could do Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance?
Yaas!
You don't use any pick? 🤔
No amount of practise will ever allow me to play that solo!
Simon Rourke Trust me practice can do wonders.
YEEEESSSSSS
Could you teach us how to play "Sulfur" by slipknot please! I already know to play psychosocial because of you (thank you so much btw) but ive been trying to learn how to play that solo but i cant find anyone to teach it

The tapping section reminds me of a game of bingo...
Pick disappears and reappears at 0:29 0:39. *Mind blown*
How bout a tabbed version of the afterlife solo plz?
with whammy bar
Could you do Lazy by Deep Purple? Or Soldiers of the wastelands by DragonForce? :D
You can read my mind wtf ?!? I was just searching for a lesson on this!
Derrick.. You and I... Are the same person.
Chris Zoupa Yes it seems like we are ...
Chris, what is your opinion on the Two Way Pickslanting technique covered by Troy Grady in his Cracking the Code lesson series?
It's a different approach or improved method of really increasing speed
th-cam.com/video/9B4Ta6tyxr4/w-d-xo.html
Thanks!
Probably none, since he doesn’t use a pick.
21:09
