    Saurabh Kalia had been complaining of firing from the highest feature since January-February. They had even used Anti Aircraft guns to fire on Saurabh’s post. Someone had even seen the bunker built on the ridge line. All this was reported. Please watch the interview of Major Bhatnagar by Maj Gen Yash Mor.

    Looking at the accounts of Brig devender singh, Maj Manish Bhatnagar etc.. looks like senior Army generals got away without any repercussion and those who were operationally involved didn’t get their due. 25years later still many lessons to be learnt and guilty to be punished !

    Finally general sab has arrived to defends his other generals who caused this blunder and he was abroad so he didn’t knew anything. Infiltration was detected well in early February and March. More than 8 times alarm was raised by Sourav Kalia's team but no action was taken by the then Generals . 2 patrols were lost in the initial stages just because Infiltration was treated as low threat. Responsibility should be fixed for the lives lost due to No early action taken by top the decision makers.

      Saurabh Kalia was KIAed in June. Then how tf he raised 8 alarms in Feb? Plus in Feb all the peaks are heavily covered in snow and no recce are sent during winter.
      You need to identify the enemy before you pool in brigades. Local Area commanders told GoC in C, NC that this was Infiltration bid by Pak "militants". Localised CI/CT Ops were launched but scale of infiltration was unknown.

    Mr Malik said the Intelligence reports negated a war by Pakistan. 21:41. If one watches Major Bhatnagar’s interview, the IB had warned the military in January that Pakistan was raising troops on the other side and it was upto something. Mr Gokhale didn’t ask any pointed questions. This interview was just about glorifying an inept General.

  • @TheMonk7423
    @TheMonk7423 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    Had Mr Gokhale watched the interview of Major Bhatnagar by Maj Gen Yash Mor, maybe he wouldn’t have called the military leadership “wise”. 00:33. Also I was shocked and appalled at Mr Malik’s statement, that he wouldn’t “mind” “getting a few casualties “. 03:25. Would he “mind “ if his son was a casualty in war ? His disregard for human life and treating the soldiers like cannon fodder is appalling. He spoke about casualties, as if he was talking about sheep and goats. The death of one Indian Soldier, is one too many. A good military leader is constantly thinking about the lives of his troops. He doesn’t want anyone to die under his command. He would rather put his life at risk than lose the life of his troops. Mr Malik’s callousness has been documented by ex RAW chief Vikram Sood in his video. This war was a fiasco from the get go. To cover up for their mistakes, the upper brass made more mistakes. Please watch the interview of Major Bhatnagar by Maj Gen Yash Mor.

    Mr Nitin could have done justice with this interaction with the general by asking a pin point question on the claims made by Maj Bhatnagar that sufficient intelligence inputs were fed to the higher HQ by the troops on ground about the deployment of Pak troops in our areas from as early as Feb/Mar 1999. Without asking the troubling questions, the whole interview appears like a PR exercise.

      When you have an enemy constantly looking for an opening to exploit it is impossible to remain completely secure forever. Look at the war in Ukraine-Russia. Russia has lost 300K dead and Ukraine something close to 150-200K dead. They are not complaining. We need to develop a stronger backbone. In all our Wars since Independence, India has lost only 20K soldiers or fewer! 527 is not a large number at all given the high points they had occupied.

It is utmost in every Leaders mind, that no soldier under my command should die. The leader rather die than any of his soldiers. Because the leader thinks, that, the soldier has a family, a wife, children. They don't want any soldier to die. That is what they are taught. Not to march ahead foolishly and have all his men killed. If you talk to any responsible leader, that is what they will tell you. I have heard this over and over again. General I am a layman who read extensively on various battles from WW 1 onwards. In my opinion it is absolute foolishness to hope Pakistan will respect the understanding to leave the post vacant. They are treacherous. No one will leave a house open when the owners go on a vacation trusting the people. What could have been done on the entire area was to hire , say 500 villagers, by paying Rs. 1000 a month for each to monitor and report to the army if there is any unusual activities. With a cost of Rs 5 lakhs a month for the winter season would have saved hundreds of lives and subsequent battle cost.

    India won the 1999 Kargil War because of JCOs and Lance Naiks of the Indian army. Top generals failed miserably and should be held accountable.

    First General Malik under his watch neglected Brigade Commander's notes on occupation of heights. So like Gen Thapar he slept over. No bravado will erase the major failure. He should have been asked to resign and accept responsibility.

    "When India stood behind its forces". The way it reads makes Indians a public who rarely does so. Why this sudden interest over Kargil. India didn't lose territory, drove back the intruders and secured the original border. In comparison 2020 Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh skirmish smears the face of India with humiliation, loss of lives of jawans, loss of 4000 Sq.Kms of Indian territory and the disgusting surrender and subjugation to the PLA. The Prime Minister lies to Parliament, "Koi Ghusa Nhi". The cowardice, hypocrisy and national shame cast on the nation by its own Prime Minister. Why that isn't a subject of discussion in the Parliament? Modi isn't in majority on his own so the apprehension of venegence from Modi isn't so concerning presently.

Govt should also check all the officers selection dozier who are involved in war including from Capt to COAS to assess whether they have the qualities of leadership in assessment in paper and ground realities.

    I noticed some replies or remarks from viewers why the General was so casual when he talks about casualties. I must say when any army action is involved they assess causalities, because battle means, apart from win or loss, it involves causalities , horrible injuries and suffering to the soldiers and their families. On D day Allies suffered some 4,000 plus killed, in Dieppie raid in 10 hours of battle 3723 were killed, in operation Market Garden Allies suffered 15,000 to 17000 causalities in eight days, in WW 2 the Allied military causalities were 51 million and in Pearl harbour attack American suffered 2,403 killed. Wars are horrible. Russia suffered 8.7 million military persons killed.
