    Thank you Sir for these workshop Videos and these good advices. Tomorrow, I will get my ZX9R (2000 Model) an I need to remove the carburetor to give them a cleanup. Your videos are very helpfull! Thanks, and greats from Germany.

    I recently fitted a dynojet kit to my 2000 Firestorm,but found it best to leave the original needles in place and reinstalling them with an appropriate no of m4 washers,there is a noticeable improvement in acceleration,and I still need to experiment with the sprockets to find the optimum gearing arrangement.I'm also currently looking out for a ZX 9R with carbs,to use as a track bike,so this video is very helpful.

    Very calm and methodic. I wish you had a camera-assistent to give true justice to your mechanical knowhow.

      Glad people are finding the vids useful, One of the reasons I like the ZX9 servicing is easy no special tools required, One of the benefits of an old school superbike and part of the fun of owning one for me.

    ive had ivans kit on couple bikes.i found that it threw up more problems than it solved inc rich running. over 40yrs im now convinced these bikes are better bog standard.only my opinion tho

      Depend on other mods I've heard, a filter and exhaust apparently can make them run lean with stock carbs, but surely either way you decide, retuning the mixture screws should get it right, right?

    Who needs a Haynes manual when you have this! well OK I do but thanks for your upload as it makes this weekends job of fixing a leaky throttle needle valve a lot easier - hmmm other people with ZX9R's have the same issue and its always with cylinder 1 carb - wonder why? now...onto part 2

      It could be the bike leaning over on sidestand and left tor to long without starting ? I drain the carbs and tank of fuel before storing the bike for winter.

    Great video, I just received my 6Sigma jet kit and have the last few goodies to finish of the mods to my E model. Carbs off, new CCT in and ignition advancer along w jet kit. JUst had valves set at 46KM , new iridium plugs installed and fuel filter. I am waiting to do my 3" clip on risers at same time as carbs so I can have more room to work once I replace the H fairing bracket to 02 Y

    Interesting video, just bought a C1 project so trawling all zx9 videos.
    Get yourself a set of J.I.S. screwdrivers. They are subtly different from the Philips head, grip the head better and stop you from chewing up the cross head screws.

    Great help much appreciated, when I take my carbs off to clean can I just take the carb bolws off and spray brake or carb cleaner down all the jet holes or do you have to take them all apart every time

    Did jetkit help away torgue dip at 6000rpm?

    I'm noticing some subtle differences between the E and the F bikes. The frame on the F has pick up points to mount Oggy Knobs whereas the E doesn't seem to have those same protrusions. I'm guessing the F chassis is different to the E chassis right ?
    I'd love to have an F bike to be able to compare my E bikes with.

    • @mcycle24
      @mcycle24  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The E frame has them but you have to drill a hole through the fairings to access them

    Great video mate, just removed the carbs from my E1, throttle cables are annoyingly tight even after slackening the lengths, interesting to see you also disconnect them from the twist grip, I think Kawasaki should have given us a little more slack from the carb end.
    Have you ever had the leaking float valve issue?

    • @mcycle24
      @mcycle24  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      harman1967
      Not had a leaking float valve , But I do turn the tap to off and keep the bike upright if I’m not going to use it for a while.

      I looked around the internet and looks like the carb pilot jets need to be cleaned.

      You could even do a little video on it 😊

    aye...thats not a bad guess...she does spend a long time sat on her side stand...and that would mean the 1st cylinder is the lowest and perhaps most susceptable to being coated in deposits that cause the needle rubber to clog. good theory!.
