      That is awesome! Love that I can be seen on someone's tv, running my own show. Kind of a boyhood dream...lol. Yes the Sharp Aquos is a very solid TV line. My dad bought a 60 inch back in 2010. We were blown away by the LED picture we got with it. Sharp is definitely underrated as a brand! Thanks for watching!

    Interesting video. Thanks for sharing. Years ago, I managed to find a second hand Citizen TC-53 VHF/UHF hand held portable analogue TV., similar size to your Casio. The advantages were that the Citizen had manual tuning, no mute and was quite powerful with catching signals. The one problem was after a bit of use, the dial pointer froze and despite still being able to tune the channels, it was difficult to work out which channel was which. Also, there are no AV inputs or even an external antenna input. This seems to be a fault that happens in that particular model. Unfortunately, once analogue was switched off the TV became virtually unusable, unless connected to a digital box. The output on the TV allows reception on the TV to be recorded to a VCR, which is reverse to the standard way to record. One portable TV that works quite well with a digital set top box is the Toshiba C-531 VHF/UHF TV. Using a small adjustable antenna filter may lower the signal interference. The only problem with the Toshiba is after time the on/off switch won't work as well. The way around it is to leave the switch on and operate it from the power point.

      Wow, thank you for your feedback. It looks like you've done your own research and evaluation of portable tv's. Back in the day, I never owned a portable TV myself because I had a TV in every room in our house. Plus I never saw a portable TV with good reception or worth buying. I have to look into that Citizen you mentioned. Thanks for sharing.

      @@joelsdiy9469 I actually found the Citizen analogue pocket TV in a cash converters story while visiting Albury NSW years ago. For a TV of its size, the reception was quite good. No mute at all and all manual tuning, which made it absolutely perfect for my use.

    • @RGC198
      @RGC198 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@viewermc9128 Actually you are correct. My first Citizen TV-53 was bought at Cash converters at Albury NSW while on holiday. After it had tuning problems, I managed to get another one on eBay, though later that suffered the same problem. They are still useful, if set up with a localized low power transmission of an analogue signal from a video recorder or similar.

      You can always clip the antenna with an alligator clip and feed it into the center of a 75 ohm balen then to an outdoor antenna or directly to a digital TV tuner. I forgot there are no analog TV signals. 73

    The distortion may be not enough power from the supply. Because the fail goes bad with the hi volume.
    I am waiting a TV set of 6 inches branded as "Atashi" to arrive. So I am watching TV sets trying to find one in working condition.

    I'd check to see if the sound / horizontal distortion might be caused by bad, or leaky filter electrolytic capacitors in the B+ section. They may be going bad. The power supply for sure must be of adequate mA, well filtered DC. Just a possibility.

    Hello. I buy and sell video games for a living. So I need to have a small portable TV preferably that runs on its own batteries (optional) but a TV that has composite inputs so that I can test the game systems that I'm buying off of people like at a Starbucks connected to a jumper box in the trunk of my car or on a table.
    Can you give me a list of your top 5 or 10 smallest and best quality portable CRT TVs that either run on their own batteries or are just regular style but that (have composite inputs a must) so that I can connect like a Nintendo 64 on to it but some of the smallest ones and the best ones that you can recommend please?
    Anybody knowledgeable please reply soon.
    Thank you.

    • @joelsdiy9469
      @joelsdiy9469  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like a good idea for a video. The thing is that CRT tvs are not manufactured anymore so its hard for me to recommend anything new. If I had to choose a good brand for a portable tv, I would go Sony or Canon any day. They were well built and usually gives good picture. Have you thought about looking into portable LCD or LED screens? You can find great ones at the Goodwill or some thrift stores that cost less than $30. Thanks for watching my video.
