DIY Yamaha CDX 71OU: Belt Drive Replacement
Got the same turtable at goodwill it came with all the accessories. Paid 12.00 for it
11:33 A carbón, Latin Spanish Radio? That is quality 👌📺
This is my all time favorite show! I was sad for years because it got cancelled without an ending! Still am!
Ich!
Damn I remember running this with Windows XP, good times
My first real quality turntable, purchased in 1976. Gave it away years later when I upgraded to a Technics direct drive table. I purchased a used "parts only" SL-23 this year. Cleaned the pots and a new belt = good as new. The SL-23 is a fine performing turntable, performs far better than its low cost might suggest. I've run various Audio-Technica, Shure and Grado cartridges on the SL-23 - always have been pleased. If you want to get a good quality vintage table, this is a good choice. Dependable, easy to set up and use - the only downside is you need to clean the speed pots every few years.
I own a Technics SL-D5 turntable that I bought in the 1980's and love, however due to many moves through the years the dust cover has either broken and thrown out or lost (can't really remember which). I am in desperate need of a cover and have not been able to find a cover for it due to it's uniqueness. Is there anyone out there who might know where I can acquire one? Thanks for listening.
Mine is giving ground issues (humming) how did u resolve the problem?
Make sure that your polarity is correct. Look at the manual and make sure its hooked up correctly!
These are actually really cool dude! :D
Thanks for the help! I needed to make my own adapter for my old consoles that use component so I used female contacts instead. Didn't even do any soldering, just twist the leads together and cover with shrink tubing and then wrap the monstrosity in electrical tape. 👍
No problem 👍
Dude, this is not a review, this is just you talking.
I was hoping to convey the functions and features of this machine. What were you expecting?
Flying erase head is that the erase head is on the rotating drum rather than stationary. This is so you get clean editing (no color bars/ noise between edits). The glass circuit board modules power supply capacitors and surface mounted capacitors are the most common problems with these. If the glass modules are bad they cannot be fixed or obtained these days, so make sure these are good if you buy one of these.
I appreciate the technical insights, thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I'm trying to hook that turntable to a Panasonic TX 4000 receiver with the pioneer m4000 amp and the sound is very low what do I need to do
Make sure its set on the preamp, otherwise the sound will be low. Thanks for watching!
thanks! i did it!
Glad it worked out for you!
Any chance you still have this record player?
Gone my friend! Sorry.
I ahh and aah what i‘m doing aahm so i do that it‘s aaahh like ahh yea it‘s impossible aahhh so i get Aaaaahh 😖
Hi, what is the belt size on this machine?
I no longer have this device, so I dont recall. Sorry.
Which Pioneer control remote 6:50 Is compatible to this pdm 501 CD player? Can i get the model number of it please? Thamks
Sorry I no longer own this device!
Hi Joel, this was a nice video, and i came across it after a couple of years. So , tentatively, i assume it must be 2 years now, and do you still have it. As i wanted to check with you whether the lense overtime is still good enough and do you find any skipping issues while playing songs as the md player seems from the late 90s era. Just want to know your thoughts on whether it is worth investing. As you rightly said, today, mds are available at ridiculous prices, saying that the player / lense should also have a good life.
Probably not. Their quality is comparable to a well ripped MP3. These are just for posterity as far as my video. Plus the discs are kind of expensive! No one that I know makes mini disc albums. Thanks for watching!
Couldn't you just cut the screws instead of drilling holes deeper into the cavity?
Probably, but it was a rookie mistake all those years ago!
thanks for this demonstration even was done 3 years ago. recently I got a gave away but without stylus, and I add one bought from 2nd hand, it works well
I have a cobycxtv6 were can i get or make an Ac adapter for it no station will come up on mine
I would look at the specs, you can always find one laying around in some thrift stores! Thanks for watching!
Just got one of these, my first nice turntable🥹Thank you so much for this video helped me learn how to use it!
Short answer: *YES*
can it play cassettes or is it just voice recordings
Cassettes as well!
Is that the original Sony stand as well?
Correct!
I picked one of these up for $10 at an estate sale today. I was curious about cartridge upgrades, so I was happy to see that yours is much better than the one that was installed on mine. I’ll see if I can find a bargain upgrade.
How and what did you buff the dust cover with? I picked one up for $40 working with new belt and love it but the dust cover is a little scuffed
See one of my other videos! I did a complete tutorial!
The D-E220 is from 2001. I had a red one back in the day and bought it that same year it came out. The D-EJ016 is the newer model of the three. It came out in 2005.
That one is from here the UK
Would this work on a PS3 Component cable? 🤔🤔🤔 I'm trying to connect my PS3 to my LED VGA Monitor
Depends on the video outputs for your monitor and if they are compatible with the PS3.
Pries sir
This Yamaha DSP A 1000 is an absolute sound beast- I have 2 of them. The main Level knob at the back is really useful if you use this amp as a preamp to a power amp, just try and you will be amazed with the sound quality.
I'm using one that I found a few years ago it left brand new The remote still had the plastic on it.I use it as a preamp Can you explain the volume control on the back if it's worth I'm going pull this thing out and check it out
@@reidabney2915 That volume control is the Main Level-OUT control to turn on/drive a power amp. you can use this volume control only when you use the DSP amp as a pre-amp. So, if you pull out the 3 couplings, then you can see the RCA female jack sockets as Out and In under Main ( the 3rd coupling belongs to the RCA of Line Out of Centre and just pull out that coupling as well). I am not sure of your sound quality taste but mine is far out, which means I use both digital (via a Rotel DAC) and analog sources as inputs to the DSP- then from the DSP- I use a line out -using RCA Main Out ( as said above) and that Line OUT straight goes into a Line IN of an Equalizer- then the sound comes OUT from the equalizer to the Power Amp. this is the time that you can use that volume. If the volume of the back of the DSP is too low then the power amp does not turn on. My main concern is the quality of the sound. Just rap up- Both digital and analog sources IN to the DSP-then Main OUT from the DSP to the IN of the equalizer-Line OUT from the equalizer to a Line IN of the power amp- then sound out from the power amp to speakers. simply Amazing.
the 3 leads AV cables have different standards. there's a great video made by vwestlife testing a couple of them. you might want test plugging mismatching colors to have it working properly.
Can you just snip off 3.5 dc and splice on a 12volt 1+ amp power suppy?
Correct but make sure it is the correct polarity!
Thank you so very much. It was a great solution
Awesome man, i'm already want to buy one and to use it to tranfer the image to my old tv with YPbPr, but i have the question if i need a device to convert the signal, i hope this works
Doesnt the shielding need to connect to ground at the end? 🤔
Yes you do. What he did might help a little, but for shielding to be actually beneficial it needs to be grounded on one end or the other. I recommend only grounding on one end though to prevent the possibility of ground loops.
Where i can order a platter ?
I would try to find it on eBay or buy another one that is for parts.
I love my Technics SL-1200MK2 I've had it since 1993.
yo same name?
Buen trabajo artesanal.!!!!!
I have the SL-5. The tone arm is inconsistent in starting at the right location at the beginning of the record. When it does find the start correctly, it will, invariably, start skipping badly at some point on every record. The cartridge is brand new! Can you HELP?
You might need to replace the tone are belt in the lid or lube the rail and gear. That might help!
Betamax ❤❤❤❤wowww
Sony missed the boat though. They should have had the machine scan the disc and allow you to choose a track. Thr technology existed by this time.
Regardless if the native format on the Laser Disc is analog composite if S-Video is sharper and cleaner out than the composite out, then thats the way to go. Basically the S-Video is showing a cleaner image of the native analog composite then the composite output. Also you could probably clean up the image even more by using Hi Quality Gold Plated S-VIdeo Cables. The colors can be adjusted with the TV or Monitor. When it comes to video quality you want the cleanest image first then adjust for color, brightness and ect. on the TV or Monitor.

I got a VGA extension cable as extension for a Fostex D90 before i tried it i got my multi meter out and the pins are completely the wrong way round opposite for continuity on each side of the connector. I couldn't get it wrong because i know by the shape of each side only fits one way when testing it. Needless to say i tried it and it didn't work did i get a bum cable on ebay i cut one end open and only 8 wires
Check the video outputs for both devices before trying. Mine worked for these specific devices.
Muchas gracias
As people have suggested... The native video format on the disc is analog composite. The comb filter cannot do better than the actual quality of the signal in the disc.
