I once saw Paula Poundstone, on stage, with a sign language interpreter and of course, that is comedy gold to any comedian worth their salt. She did some jokes about how part of her act was timing and the interpreter might be messing it up and seemed to move on (the interpreter having to sign the bits, plus her own responses to Paula's questions), when she comes back to the interpreter, who just makes an " Oh, God; leave me alone!" face and gesture (while cracking up) and they go back into it.
At first I thought it was weird that he had someone signing his act. Then I realized that he's also a cripple so I guess he would want to help out the blind.
