Abba was in Sweden and did not travel often. They made Music Videos to send their music out to the World . Shows like The Midnight Special and Don Kirshner's Rock Concert were popular and the videos were how they promoted themselves.

Definetely worth a week 2. Some amazing videoclips are missing: Super Trooper, Winner Takes it All, Waterloo, Chiquitita, SOS, One of Us, Under Attack... All masterpieces and pioneers in the whole videoclip world.
Abba made a lot of videos, because they didn't tour much. Of the ten active years, Benny just said in an interview, they toured half a year all put together. They were pioneers in making music videos.

This was to start with a different intro(electric guitar bass and rythmic drums similar to Tina Charle's"I love to love")but last minute they decided to scrap it and put the piano "glissando" cause it sounded more captivating.BTW There are many videos in the net of Abba songs with only their isolated backing vocals.God you can't imagine how much work has been put in and how hard and detalful are in construction.So complicated yet so exceptionally beautiful.

Entendo que voces não sejam fãs do ABBA mas quando ouvirem outras músicas da banda vão apreciar, por que ABBA tem uma sonoridade incrível, com arranjos maravilhosos. E olha que tbm não sou da época da disco music, tenho 37 anos.

Hey. Just discovered you w ABBA week. The reason why there are so many music videos is because ABBA was a global act but they rarely toured. So they recorded music videos as promotional clips they could distribute world wide. This helped them promote their music in lieu of touring. The videos were directed by Oscar nominated director Lasse Hallstrom. But before he directed movies like The Cider House Rules, he learned to direct by making ABBA’s videos. In the days before MTV, these videos were very experimental and avant guarde, especially because CGI and other video technology we take for granted did not exist in the 70s.
The thing to remember is Abba were not a disco band as some people say.
They existed before & through the disco era and then after, but they were not a disco band in the least.
Piano and bass on this are fantastic.
I was 11 when this song was popular thats why the dancers are so young. They are now late 50s and 60s. 😢
Velvet is the fabric of choice for dancing kings and queens at galas and coronations and has been around for centuries. While the more recent fabric of velour is synthetic is commonly made and turned into track suits

The Name of the Game is a wonderful song and video as well - they're playing Ludo. However, Money Money Money may be their best video: Lots of 1 Dollar bills and a fancy hat. Go for it, you'll love it.

What’s also interesting is that early on their costumes were crazy looking because they were tax deductible in Sweden just as long as they couldn’t be worn anywhere else but while I n stage. You wouldn’t want to wear these costumes to the office or out to dinner, as examples.
