half an old tennis ball on the pole works well, protects poncho and stops slippage / movement. Also I use cordage for the pegs not the loops on poncho.
Thanks for watching and commenting, I'm glad you found it useful. Hopefully we'll all be allowed out again soon and I'll be able to get some decent wild camp footage of these being used in the wild..lol. Stay safe, ATB
@@owtnabowt2723 lol .. I’ve thought about it .. when I was a kid we all had Action man .. now I’d make a tarp for him lol .. learn the designs lol .. god I never grow up lol ...
Thank you very much, I really appreciate comments, they add another layer to the motivation to get out an about. Just had a quick look at your channel, some interesting vids, have subscribed and will check them out more thoroughly. (The pics on Ben Nevis are awesome)
I've tried to find basha's in different patterns for different places, as seasons change the area changes and colours can stick that work in spring to summer. As basha's take up no room though it's easy to be ready by packing a couple. I have 3 poncho's too. Good stuff. Subbed.
Yeah, MTP seems to be the most common pattern. I'm never too fussed about going "full stealth", although I would like a woodland pattern basha. Thanks for the sub, it really helps the channel develop.
👍 have seen somewhere to remove bungees from the basha end first so they ping into the ground rather than in your eye. Makes sense. Those hooks would be lethal under tension
If you use an old fashioned wooden walking stick there is no need to "pad" your 'tent pole' ! And . . . If your walking stick brakes, you can light a fire with it !

Nice demonstrations of the versatility of the British Military Shelter Sheet (Basha) Thank you for sharing. Helen and Terri with Robyn.
I always take a knackered dog ball to pop over the pole which protects the basher
good call
Very good thanks 👍
Very informative, it’s given me some good ideas of things to try in the future.

Good but don't bother if it does not look like rain.
Plus, if you have a gortex bivi bag, which will also keep you warmer.
Use that.

Great informative vid. Any reason you don’t use bungees?
No real reason, just wasn't really a thing when I "had" to use a basha so just got used to not using them. Defiantly see the benefits though.

Very true Clive. I have a nice piece "seasoning" at the moment.
Love "good boy"! Is he a some kind of collie breed?
Awww thanks 😍. His name is Lister, we got him from the dogs trust (UK rescue charity) as a Collie, but his actual breed is undetermined.
@@owtnabowt2723 Collies are some of the best dogs!
@@owtnabowt2723 such a lovely dog :)
