I love the way that they say on their website that "We desire to get out of the way so the truth upon which all our songs are built can properly shine. We pray that the lyrics and melodies of these songs would fix eyes and hearts and minds on Jesus. We pray that our songs might join the many thousands of songs written through history to encourage the church, and when they have played their role, to make way for the next ones. And we rejoice that one day the only name left standing will be the name of Jesus, as it should be".
So many times Worship bands and Leaders lose their aim and choose to become the centre of attention rather than point people to Christ; writing easy-listening "me-centred" material rather than solid biblically -based lyrics. thank you Benjamin. I couldn't agree more. I ljust discovered this group this morning, and of course, didn't know they were Australians, but wasn't surprised. I also love HIllsong. What really helps us, the audience, in focusing on Jesus while lisltening to them, is that they wear simple clothing, nothing flashy, and the ladies wear very little make-up, maybe not at all, who knows. No one is "blowing their own trumpet" as we say, craving for attention. I love that. Thank you for reminding us, in every one of your songs, about our Lord, and what he has done for us.

That was the spirit of John the Baptist as well. "He must increase but I must decrease."
Hi Benjamin. I think that contrasting "easy-listening me-centred material" with "solid biblically-based lyrics" is a mistake. I see where you're coming from. But a song that's easy to listen to isn't necessarily a bad one, and might even be better than a complex one if you want a congregation to sing it. Lyric-wise, if your experience of God's greatness and goodness is the reason you're being moved to point people to Christ, then for lyrics to be me-centred (at least in part) is obviously not out of place. It's the truth; it's your testimony. Look to the Bible. In the Magnificat, the starting point of Mary's worship and praise is her own experience of God. That's what makes it immediate and heartfelt. You can find similar examples in the Psalms too, so to imply that me-centred lyrics are not Biblical is wide of the mark. Also, we have the example of some of the great hymns - e.g. Amazing Grace: "...that saved a wretch like me." Merry Christmas!

What I like about CityAlight songs is that you can take them and sing them in your own church. They're not performance pieces by the singers or musicians, they are genuine songs of praise and worship that everyone can sing. As much as I love the Passion team and everyone who plays with them, most of the songs are performance pieces that you could never pull off in your own church without being a phenomenal singer and have a really good congregation who can sing well too. They're great songs but they aren't praise and worship like CityAlight who have nailed creating songs that can just be sung by all!
Cause CityAlight is Biblical Worship and not CCM its GOd Centered and Christ Centered Alone. as well as Sovereign Grace Music Shane & Shane , Matt Papa & Matt Boswell Etc there's more but i dont have my spotify on me right now.

"Ancient of Days" has always been my favorite of the many names of the Lord. The way this song expounds on it has brought me much peace when the world is in turmoil. I love to play and sing it and have been teaching it to the band at church. We are doing at least six CityAlight songs regularly now. Truly, truly and blessing to know of these musicians.
For some reason i have only discovered cityalight on TH-cam moments after i got saved,i believe God directed me there to enrich my soul

This is true praise and worship music. When I listen to this praise group I hear all of God's people lifting up their voices together as one....pointing to Christ....inviting others to do the same, lifting up His name and His glory and rejoicing in HIM....not their own talents and gifts. I feel more that I am joining with the body of Christ in praise and worship and not just singing along ! Gives me goosebumps and makes me wonder....how glorious it will be when all is complete and we are with Him in Glory forever ! Praise God ! \o/
Some of the songs Christian churches are singing actually contain elements of untruth--we need to be careful about the lyrics being Biblical.
@@rebeccagable9629 I know...always pay attention to the words. I believe the old solid hymns were inspired...so full of doctrine and scripture. Today....you have to push out a certain number of new songs and albums within a certain amount of time if you want to keep your contract. So...there's a lot out there that's just quickly thrown together...with a lot of repetition (because they can't think of something else to toss in there I guess). I find most of City Alight's music is well thought out and scriptural. I also like that there's a LOT of other voices included so that it isn't just one "superstar" vocalist so much....but many voices worshiping together.

The Holy Ghost will guide us into all truth. The Lord saves those that are upright in heart. Do not be a do-nothing believer. I do have great faith in my Lord Jesus Christ and I know that good works are required after believing on him. Obedience is required after you believe on the Lord Jesus. Hebrews 5:9. Revelation 11:10 old king James Bible, Jeremiah 10:1-5 OKJB, Deuteronomy 12:30-32, Galatians 4:8-10, etc all speak against Christmas. If you continue to eat unclean beasts (swine[pig/pork], chicken and its eggs, turkey, duck, shrimps, tuna, catfish, swai, etc) and observe sunday, turkeyday, Christmas, January 1st, Valentine's, Lent, Easter, etc, you are on your way to hell. Isaiah 66:17-24. They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. Jonah 2:8,9. So people that refuse to repent and observe witchcraft sorcery times will not get mercy nor salvation from the Lord Jesus Christ. I used to be a sunday-keeper pork-eater and if I can repent, so can any one.
The everlasting gospel in Revelation 14:6,7 is to fear God (keep the hundreds of commandments based on love and the perfect law of liberty) and worship him at the right holy convocation gatherings in the new moons, sabbaths and holy days. People did so much evil under every green tree but that is in many verses of the holy Bible. Ezekiel 8:16 OKJB condemns the sunrise service which later became Easter. The star and serpent-like pattern of decking the tree with gold and silver represents Lucifer/Satan. When you observe Christmas, you are celebrating the downfall of Adam and Eve after eating the forbidden fruit. Colossians 2:8,16,18 proves the Christians ate the clean beasts, did not get drunk, and respected each holy day, each new moon and each sabbath. When King Jesus the LORD of hosts has returned, people shall worship him at the feast of tabernacles or they will not get rain. Zechariah 14:16-21. I pray that the Holy Ghost will guide us into all truth. Let us kindly serve and worship the Almighty Everlasting Father Jesus in spirit and in truth. Have a good month of Sebat.

The problem for the Jews is that their Saviour, King, Messiah has already come. Sadly, they mostly didn't recognise Him as that and had Him crucified instead.
It is such a fresh air to finally listen to a simple worship song, I like how simple the song is for anyone to sing along and yet it’s so powerful and anointed. The songs just sound like hymns. It’s quite rare to see these in this day and age where most Christian band especially those from mega church that are leaning towards performance in front of crowd and not leading the crowd to worship God together

Yea. me too. Every righteous Christian should preach the true gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ every week. The everlasting gospel is to believe on the Lord Jesus, repent of your deeds, and keep the commandments of Jesus if you love him. We must abstain from (fornication, idolatry, blood, strangled things) the FIBS before we can say that we have turned to God. Do you love Judge Jesus the Almighty enough to respect each holy day, each new moon, and each sabbath? Colossians 2:8,16,18. Old King James Bible. Do you love the Lord Jesus enough to stop making yourself abominable, and to stop eating abominations like swine (pig/pork/bacon…), chicken, turkey, catfish, lobster, mouse, shrimp, cicada, etc? Revelation 21:8, Leviticus 11:43, Deuteronomy 14, Revelation 18:2. Now Romans 14 is clearly talking about fast days (not eating to the Lord) and the feast days of men like anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, weddings, promotions, dedications, etc. And Romans 14 also speaks about the people (biblitarian clean beast eaters) who may eat all things God said was clean, and the people who only eat herbs (herbivore vegetarians/vegans). Biblitarians are stronger, healthier and live longer than herbivores. God was the one who esteemed, blessed, sanctified, and hallowed the sabbath day. He also blesses each new moon, and holy feast day. He did NOT bless and does NOT esteem the first day sunday, turkeyday, Christmas, Easter, crossover (January 1st), Ramadan, friday, nor other heathen days. REPENT of your deeds and preach the true gospel to sinners in the streets. Jesus hates the deeds and the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes which is grace and the traditions of men. I pray that the Holy Ghost will open your eyes to the truth. Have a good remnant of the year.
