The intro was one of the first things that captured (no pun intended) my attention. Kind of reminds of those early 'The Untouchables' episodes; in a Walter Winchell staccato type voice, 'Chicago, 1929...'

Maybe it was a relief. For the first time in his life not having to put on a tough facade all the time and not having to worry about something coming back to haunt him. That make the memories of that time so positive to reminisce about it.

Sammy lived the life in 2 families, survived the life, and people still don’t fuck with him. There is a reason he is still alive, and went untouched after everything that’s happened in his life!! Sammy might be one of the most “important, influential, untouchable” or whatever word you can come up with gangsters of the last century. He truly lived the front lines, and was at every position along the way before Gotti fucked it up!!! He would have been Boss had the BS not happened!! True Cosa Nostra till the end!! I lived through a few too many of these and have heard names of people my parents mentioned quite often when I was a kid. My mother dated Anthony Mirra and there I was, age ten, asking him in the driveway to my building what he did for a living and how he knew my mother. He couldn't have been more polite, saying they were friends and he was a businessman. I was like "okay" and left. I never knew who "Tom and Roy DiMAYO" were until I found these channels. Everything I thought about my childhood was shattered in a good way.

@@PurpleHazeNation that makes Sammy a _lesser_ man not a greater one. Michael Franzese at least has the reason/excuse/explanation his father Sonny refused to let the apple roll far from the tree. Sammy had good parents, working parents, honourable parents. Instead of honouring is parents and honouring their decency, he decided to dishonour and disgrace them by being a thug and a bully and a murderer and enabling even worse bullies and murderers. Sammy KNEW DiMeo was a literal serial killer, butchering dozens of innocent reasons for no reason whatsoever, and all he did was make a funny sideways comment to another wiseguy about it.
I'm loving his stories and charisma, but many psychopaths are charismatic. I'm listening along to him being a raconteur but please never forget this is a man who chose of his own free will to dedicate and commit his life to absolute sludge-level evil.

if sammy don’t answer hope this helps well my late father told me was between 10-25% depending on the racket especially if you had assistance getting put on it. honesty is best but having a high profit gig and hiding it is no good lol this is for captains up not soldiers is what im explaining here and this is based on genovese family. my great uncle john aka buster one time consigliere under frank tieri and carmine zaccardi he also 40+ year long captain he had an immense monthly take..the life is shit tho made me have to live through some really messed up traumatic shit when i was a kid. what i mean is the good times belong to them n not us the families what we think was perks we pay for in an emotional toll it Took me until I hit my 30s or I wanted to completely far away from my family and have a normal legitimate life and naturally I own a construction company lol so i went to what i know hope that answered your question
