I just started Tekken 8 maining Claudio. My first ever Tekken. made it to Kishin , but let me tell u this character is painfully honest. no low launchers , no mid + moves except f4 which takes 22 frame. sometimes when I play against alisa, Nina, drag I think why am I playing this smh

Still one of the strongest characters in the game, you have to be a strong player with great fundamentals discipline and conditioning to pilot him and use his moves effectively. Hes far from top 10 but high tier no question, borderline top tier, he has the tools to be a threat, and every character should have a weakness

claudio is definitely easy because his key moves are not as much but that's a double edged sword because it's easy to pick up but hard to master type of character i have to agree calling claudio extremely strong is delusional
@@riel9582 Every unseeable low is hard to read and basically free damage if you never spam lows. So db43 being hard to read is redundant. Especially in a game with tons of lows that are hard to read, while giving high/medium reward, but medium/low risk.
Reached emperor with Claudio on 7 and am a Tekken god in 8 One thing that improved my gameplay to reach easier was his twin pistons . Or special mkd d1 Very plus on hit and is very deadly woth starburst installed Nevertheless, one of the more balance characters in the game when compare to plenty of the characters
i use him a lot in T7, gotta say he has few moves making up for his strong attacks but tbh make b1 -9 or -10 and make his db43 2nd hit able to block because it was like that in T7 and it was tbh useless other things are his weakness is he will always be ducked since his key moves will end in high or a frame trap if he is in starburst
You've pretty much stated why b1 should stay as it is, when people start ducking b1 becomes that safe mid that i still have options after using, every character has great moves, why take away Claudio's? Just leave him as is, he already struggles vs defensive players.
As a Claudio main, I think part of his difficulty comes from the fact that he is one of the easiest matchups to learn in the game. Claudio therefore have to be sound in their fundamentals to rank up (especially in blues+) as opposed to most characters which while technically "harder" in terms of execution, can overwhelm opponents with knowledge checks/cheese.
You never see Claudio. I havent seen him for WEEKS. So, I don't bother labbing him for a lost pizzabaker once in a few months. So, with that being said, Claudio mains should get free wins most of the time.

thats true. i'm a lee main but i dabbled with claudio a little in tekken 7, now, even though its been more than a year since i labbed claudio, the only way for a claudio to win against me is if they play a lot better than i do lol, the matchup is very simple and its easy to know all the punishable moves and strings.

My only real difficulty with Claudio is how annoying/persistent you have to be to convince people to duck. Like let me risk my life on 20 measly db4,3s and SS4 across multiple rounds so they finally duck into b1 at the wall once. Risk my life on multiple WR2s so they get greedy for the duck and launch, now i can play run up mid. Claudio forced me to get REAL good at spacing/stepping/ducking and punishing tho. My other characters like Zafina can just run their strong 50/50s with high damage, huge + on hit and/or knockdown lows to open people up, which is technically a much riskier way to play even if it seems easier
Claudio makes you focus on the parts of the games that other chars can just skip. He is a really easy char to get greedy with and lose a lead with too. I realized in t7 when i mained him that he made it easier for me to learn other chars. Everyone complains about db 1+2 but it takes alot for me to set up on someone above Fujin. Sidestepping well with claudio is a must. Spacing is no joke the name of the game with him. Its crazy how many GOOD players i can catch just because i know the tip range of my launchers which are deceptively enormous. If i was gonna suggest something it would be dont learn a single combo,they are braindead easy anyway and you can learn all of his optimal routes in less than an hour, and play unranked and punish punish punish. Act like you are playing T7 and play for punishes and spacing. It doesnt matter if you lose

@@kingkino2116 tbh I thought i was the only Zafina player I still somewhat believe that cause in T8 Noone plays her from ranked or casuals most matches I never see one its every once in a blue moon rare although it's understandable she's pretty weak compared to the meta Characters like Reina,Jin,Eddy,Azucena,Dragunov,Lidia etc but i love Zafina that's my T6 main I can make it work even against some of the top tier characters and players and I've had a great journey with her along the Tekken series to come but I want to take a break with zafina and master Claudio which I will eventually haha have a nice day 🩷🩷

It was especially on console, Fujin is just about late purple i would say, not far off. By the time you get to the later blues, you are for sure in blue rank t7 territory and because of the compression the level goes up quicker and you will once you hit Gold be playing vs legit Emperor and above T7 players.

His difficulty comes from mind gaming opponents to duck and spacing them out for a hopkick or db1+2. Hes alot like a mishima without an electric or wavedashing. You are suppose to poke low bait for a rising 2 or hopkick. But i agree while he is my main in t7 and t8 he is boring as fuck to watch compared to some of the other Tekken chars but saying his combo damage is low is hilarious go watch @Xhk Asad

The whole point is just don't duck claudio and ss ALOT. 90 percent of his moveset has 0 tracking and a lot of his buttons end his turn unless you do a launch punishable panic move. Claud's nowhere near op. They just haven't checked on him since the beta when he was actually good.
I'm all for the idea that Claudio is harder than he gets credit for, but saying he's harder than Kazuya is Jin-downplay levels of copium. Claudio isn't as good as Kazuya now (can't believe I'm saying that), but Kazuya is definitely harder and more honest.

@@D_McGeezacks I would quit the character if they nerfed his damage, he's easy to use not overpowered and i have poor execution, i can't do his high damage combos. He's fine as is, no need to nerf him at all.

Kazuya at least needs some specific techs to get gud. But Claudio straight up gives you like 6 tools and calls it a day

The whole point is just don't duck claudio and ss ALOT. 90 percent of his moveset has 0 tracking and a lot of his buttons end his turn unless you do a launch punishable panic move. Claud's nowhere near op. They just haven't checked on him since the beta when he was actually good.
I'm all for the idea that Claudio is harder than he gets credit for, but saying he's harder than Kazuya is Jin-downplay levels of copium. Claudio isn't as good as Kazuya now (can't believe I'm saying that), but Kazuya is definitely harder and more honest.
