    I find it funny that every photo I thought looked really good would be the ones you were the most unhappy with. The one near the end of the car under the trees looks brilliant. It may be underexposed, but I think it really captures that sunny morning feeling.
    The one of the bridge as well looks great. I understand though that when you have a vision of what you want it to look like, it can be frustrating to get back something different.
    Keep it up!

    Actually photos are quite good, imagine it like some "vintage" filter, there is a lot more bad photos out there presented by "photographers" as amazing images actually then yours despite your broken camera. Don't worry about it, video tells a great story about how you got this is camera and what you made of it... I like it.

    Hi Teo, I have a Pentax 67 that had a shutter issue similar to yours. If I used 1/1000 or 1/500 speeds I’d get the same partial or half exposed frames. I took it to our local camera repair shop to get it fixed. A cleaning and shutter speed adjustment got it functioning again! 😎👍🏻

    • @WRCzATL
      @WRCzATL 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here with an old Praktica Super TL... the top 2 shutter speeds would create that dark shadow on one end. I'm sure it could be recalibrated.

    Please don’t condemn the camera. Without seeing the camera and the negatives it’s difficult to be certain. However, if the camera has not been used for some time, the horizontal cloth focal-plane shutter could be sticking. You can take the lens off and open the back to look at the shutter with different speeds, the slower the better. Is it sticking? I am sure someone in this community that you are building can give advice. One option is to use it a lot without film to see if that frees it. By the way, your accent and use of English intrigues me, have you lived in the UK ?

    • @apb_london
      @apb_london 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, have you a separate light meter or App on your phone to compare with. With age the light meter can be less sensitive. I assume you have read up about how to use it on this camera? Some of the Mamiya/Sekors allow spot and average and you need to stop down. Best of luck and looking forward to what the community says.

      Don't worry, I'll never consider throwing it away ;)
      And maybe I'll find a way to get it fixed. What you suggest actually sounds quite like the issue the guy in the shop explained to me. That sounds like a good idea to start with!💪🏼

    If you check out camera rescue's website they seem to have a list of some repair shops, there might be some local ones that could fix the issue, it's possible it's something simple like a need for lubrication or an adjustment. which I'd assume might be rather inexpensive.

    Awesome video as always dude! So cool that you got a whole photo kit that was free! I get slight under exposure on one side of my frame on my Canon P when shooting at 1/1000 of a second. I currently just use that for a gradient on vertical photos but I know it’s an issue that a CLA should fix on my camera. Maybe you could do the same if you want to use the Mamiya still

    • @teocrawford
      @teocrawford  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@suchitgangurde3514 Well that unfortunately doesn't really work in my case... because NegativeLabPro's conversion is far from accurate in my experience so far. So my editing is more like a colour correction than a colour grading - do you know what I mean?
      Oftentimes the photo without editing turns out muuuch too warm or too magenta, which certainly isn't what the film is supposed to look like🤷🏻‍♂️

    bet you can get her fixed quite easily. I had my canon AE 1 fixed few years ago at some random shop in Westbahnstraße in Vienna. the guys there open the camera and find the problem right away. mine had a severe rotten battery issues, she was ready to collect the same day and has been working as a clock since, for about a decade now.
