I inherited my Grandmas Houiser Cabinet it's my greatest treasure in my home. I had told her when I was a little girl that I wanted it when I grow up 👍♥️🗝️🇺🇸
Wonderful video to show how women organized their kitchens! Best of all for me was the flour container, much more efficient that what we have today, especially for those of us that enjoy baking!
I know, right?! I use a 1919 Sellers with a flour bin with a sifter and crank at the dispenser funnel. All I have to do is stick my measuring cup under the dispenser and sift out what I need and dump it right into the mixing bowl on the pull-out work-surface, then move right back to the central oak table and continue with the wet ingredients, mixing and kneading. I bake two 16" Pullman loaves per week, and the mess is so minimal, that it's usually just a quick wipe-down with a warm bleach solution and I'm good for the afternoon till dinner which always makes a bigger mess than bread making with my Sellers Hoosier ever has. It's so much easier to keep a highly procedural food preparation activity neat and tidy with much greater consistency and manageability.
Oh my goodness, I have that very Hoosier you showed in the picture - it even has all those bits and pieces that go with it! I found it several years ago for a few hundred $. It was battered, but otherwise sound. Lots of sanding and paint, took it all apart including the hinges and now I use it for my bake centre. It's one of only two furniture items I would never get rid of should I ever have to move!
Keep the faith and keep looking. Let people know you are looking for one. Sometimes word of mouth is the best way to find something. I also see a few from time to time on Ebay. They need some love but they are easy to clean up. Good Luck!

Your Chanel deserve more recognition
That is super cool! The pull out counter gives me the vapors lol. So jealous and so ingenuous!
As many advances as we have made making furniture it is unfortunate that many of the good ideas have gone away.

Classic Treasure!! That it was in your family is even more special!! Enjoy and PA it on to someone else in your family that will cherish it also.
Absolutely!
My grandmother had a Hoosier cabinet similar to yours, and I’ve always loved it! My uncle has it now, and I’m sure my cousin probably uses it a lot.
I hope they do use it. It is a wonderful addition to a kitchen!
Nice. Its interesting to see the evolution of the kitchen. Especially from the 1910's-1930's. Alot happened to kitchens during that time.
There are some ideas from back then that we should keep using as they were so handy!
Amazing video! Thanks for sharing
Thank you. It was fun to put together!
She is adorable ~ I like the hoosier too.

"Additional workspace."
Me: *gets goosebumps over a cabinet*
Its a magical kitchen cabinet!
Oh my goodness I just found your channel and I love it!! Thank you for sharing this! Subbed🤗
You are so welcome. My mother passed away recently so I have been taking some time off to collect myself. Stay tuned for more soon.

I feel exactly the same way. Once you have owned one and used it as intended you wonder how you ever lived without one!
Wonderful kitchen cabinetry. You're very fortunate have inherited this beautiful piece. Be well.
Yes, I am a lucky and grateful girl.
Wow!
How elegant you are ! ♥️
You are very kind.
If you bake a lot, that's a really useful piece.
If you try one you will realize how easy and fun baking can be with everything at your fingertips.

Thank you. It was fun to make it. Lu Ann
Herşey eskiden çok güzeldi 😢 şimdi herşey robotlaştı ruhu kalmadı hayatın 🤗🇹🇷 bay bay
Why can't brand new kitchens include THIS?
Exactly! I am so glad I have my Grandmothers .
I like it 🤫
Thank you.
I have see those in a 1900s village. I want one. I eat both gluten free and low carb. If I bake I use almond flour which has to be sifted.
Could use one of these in my life, finding one is expensive now.

We have one in our shed. It’s in better shape than this one. It has a roll top cabinet and is varnished wood, not painted.

don't like the mocking tone of the commentary
