Hearing that door chime takes me back to when my grandpa had a white 79 with blue interior (4 speed manual) in the late 80 early 90s (rusted to hell, but ran like a top), would always drive around for hours eating beef jerky, BBQ pork rinds, some soda, a case of water in the back, and a few burgers from a restaurant. He also bought another one, brown just like this but was automatic.
I had a datsun 1982 model sl with sunroof that I had to rebuilt the engine, the big trouble was the gas tank that had holes for the rust, the tire size was 175/70 13
this car gets more than 25 mpg on city/highway, and new cars in 2024 stuggle to get more than 20??? With all these advancements? I think we need to go back to the 70s designs, where we averaged 30 to 40 mpg....Loved this older cars, miss my old 62 vw bug...at 32 mpg
I bought an '81 hatchback earlier this year. Same color! Not even remotely as nice as this one, though. I plan on pulling the A15 and 5 speed transmission, and using it to repower my '51 Crosley wagon.

As a 90s kid, the door chime brings back so many memories. Can't remember if it was the same year model.
It: looks, sounds and seems as though it’s fresh from an assembly plant.

And VW diesels from this same era that got 40-50!
