  • Hi everyone! Welcome to part fourteen (and the FINAL part!) of my vlog series from my recent 21-night cruise onboard MSC World Europa, one of the newest cruise ships from MSC Cruises. This cruise took me from Dubai (UAE) to Marseille (France), via the Suez Canal, so I have so much to show you!
    In this episode, it's time to disembark the ship, which is always my least favourite part of any cruise. In this video, I'm going to walk you through the process of leaving MSC World Europa, and also offer you some general tips for disembarking from a cruise ship. Unfortunately, a few things went wrong for me in this disembarkation process, so let me get it wrong so that you get it right! Anyway, enough typing from me now - let's talk about leaving the ship!
    If you're new to my channel, hello! I'm Fraser, and I want to use this channel to showcase to the world the cruise industry. I'm spending the rest of 2023 mostly living on cruise ships (as a passenger), and I hope to share my passion with you! So, for now, hit the subscribe button and let's go - I've got SO MUCH to show you!

    I sailed 21 days on Vision of the Seas and loved it. I booked 26 days on MSC Virtuoso and that's why I started watching your channel.
    I also booked 30 days on the Carnival Spirit next spring and 25 days on Carnival Panorama for a transpacific cruise.

    Completely agree about disembarking!
    I had a back pack, my cabin bag on wheels and big case. Solo traveller aswell. I did self self disembark off Iona. I was pulling a case on each arm. I then saw another woman doing the same as me but her case had 4 wheels so she was pushing her big case and pulling her cabin bag. I'm now getting a new case for my next cruise! Haha

      YES for the 4-wheeled case - it’s a life saver for me! Thanks for watching :)

    Have you ever done a 180 day world cruise. I'm planning one for 2025 + I've never done a solo cruise before. Did my first MSC virtuosa cruise in march. Hoping to have a balcony, who would you recommend?

      @FraserAtSea  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Sonia, thanks for watching! I’ve never done a 180 / World cruise unfortunately, but would LOVE to! There’s so many good options for solo’s - I find the American lines (NCL for example) to be great with solo’s!

      @@FraserAtSea nah! I thought it was kinda sweet that you were so wrecked from a night on the tiles with the CBs that you forgot it was there - a nice reminder that just because people are making shows about their lives to share with strangers that they are still humans and liable to make mistakes! 😊 What you publish is good stuff and polished but there should always be room for small slips. 😊❤️ I hope your July is great - I'm just about to head out into the world (well, Wales and England) for my next 'big adventure ' in my tiny campervan 😁

      @@FraserAtSea so far I'm crossing the Irish sea Belfast to Birkenhead (can't really call that a cruise though it's a pretty long crossing!!) after that I'm definitely driving down through Wales to see a couple of friends and visit my parents grave in Aberystwyth then onto Devon as I have a friend there I haven't seen for a long time, definitely a couple of weeks in London then probably head home the long way taking in Birmingham, Manchester, across to Hull (all to see friends) then... not sure! 😁😁😁 I'll be 'working from home' all the while so if the WiFi is okay maybe I'll never go back lol!

    Didn't see an option for self disembarkation on the page you held up ... do they allow this on the Europa ? I'm on the Virtuosa on Saturday for 14 nights around part of the Med and aim to "self disembark". I know P&O allow this but can't remember if I was able to on my last Virtuosa trip. Anyone able to clarify this.

    Thanks for that Fraser. Was it that port you disembarked and found yourself missing the French customs/ passport check? Or was that another chaotic disembark? 😂 Anyway hope you have already managed to get your home town curry/Tennents/ice cream, whilst enjoying the Scottish summer! 😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

      Hey! Yes, this is where I skipped the passport check - thank goodness I realised and went back inside, or it could’ve got messy, ha!

    Thank you for providing disembarkation information on MSC Europe. So you left the ship at 09:30 then head to immigration and luggage collection at port's terminal. May I know what is the time when you finally cleared immigration and collected your luggage at the terminal? Did the ship arrive at 07:00 AM ?

    • @jackfruit123
      @jackfruit123 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      By the way, the ship is only visiting schengen countries but why there is passport control required? I thought once we enter schengen area, travelling between schengen countries is just like domestic travel which should not require passport?

    • @FraserAtSea
      @FraserAtSea  ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess immigration was required as so many of us had boarded the ship in the Middle East? That’s all I can think… If I hadn’t got off in Italy, this would’ve been my first time on land, so I guess required!

    • @FraserAtSea
      @FraserAtSea  ปีที่แล้ว

      The ship must’ve arrived about 7am, yeah. Not sure what time I cleared the hall - apologies - it didn’t take long to get out though. It was the taxi queues that took the time!

    • @jackfruit123
      @jackfruit123 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I see. I was unaware that the starting point was middle east. Now I know why your trip lasted 21 days, lol. I will participate on the 7 days cruise starting and ending in Civitavecchia. I assume the disembarkation time will be 09:40 at the latest. Is it safe to assume that there will be no passport control since the ship operate only in schengen area? Also, with the luggage, did you have to claim it at the terminal? How long did you wait? Apologies for so many questions. My plan is to head straight to the airport on the same day and I am trying to figure out what time I can arrive at the airport.

    • @FraserAtSea
      @FraserAtSea  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jackfruit123 Luggage claim really wasn't an issue - it was all lined up and waiting for me, so straight out! If you're doing the Civitavecchia loop, it's fair to assume no passport control, yes :)
