    Thank you so much for that simple explanation of basic assembly, so helpful for a newbie

    If you recheck the manual you've actually got the dust collection settings swapped backwards which is why it wasn't working as well probably, it says to set the shuttle to the 'X' to blow air out of the dust chute, and the other setting to blow air out of the front

    • @NorthwestCraftsman
      @NorthwestCraftsman  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Well that sure would explain it! That's what I get for not reading the manual carefully enough. Thanks for the correction!

    That blower feature is nice. The M12 version doesn't have it.

      Yes, it is quite nice. I ended up taking the blade guard off later when I was cutting and it worked far better.

    your vacuum hose was pinched where it hangs off the saw.

    I watched your video to save me from reading the manual. The print is too small. Good video, thanks. What does the orbital mode do?

    • @NorthwestCraftsman
      @NorthwestCraftsman  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! The orbital mode moves the blade forward on the down stroke for quicker, albeit rougher cuts.

      @@NorthwestCraftsman thanks. Yesterday I tried out the saw and figured that out trying at a slow speed I could see the blade kinda moving forward on an axis. This thing is a beast.

    I have the same one. I'm a little disappointed that the dust port and the m18 wet/dry vacuum hose dont connect well.

    • @NorthwestCraftsman
      @NorthwestCraftsman  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly, I am as well, I tried it some more and it really doesn’t work great. I just accept the dust at this point.

    My blade doesn't line up straight. Does yours?

    • @NorthwestCraftsman
      @NorthwestCraftsman  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question. Mine did when it wasn’t fully inserted and then the rotation lock would push it a little. I needed to shove the blade in pretty hard to get it to seat correctly.

      @@NorthwestCraftsman gotcha. I think my collection wenta little bit better. I’m using a Hilti extractor. Also, I have the barrel style by Milwaukee.

    My blade keeps going to the side. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

    • @NorthwestCraftsman
      @NorthwestCraftsman  ปีที่แล้ว

      Like you try to cut a straight line and it veers to the side? Or the blade isn’t cutting straight up and down?

    • @Papiiswagg
      @Papiiswagg ปีที่แล้ว

      @NorthwestCraftsman the latter. The blade tends to rotate as the locking system tries to lock in the blade. I did more research and I think I'm using a blade that is not made for that specific saw.

    • @NorthwestCraftsman
      @NorthwestCraftsman  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That sounds about right for what you’re seeing. Below are the blades that I got for mine and they work great. Also, I noticed it’s really stiff when you’re trying to get them in so make sure they’re seated fully.

    Can you use it to cut through 2”

    • @NorthwestCraftsman
      @NorthwestCraftsman  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The jigsaw isn't the limiting factor there, the blades for it will be. I used this plus the blades below to cut through a nearly 2" thick maple table though. So double check the blades, but the tool is very capable.

      @@NorthwestCraftsman My situation was different, already had it purchased but I feel like the manual didn't do a good job explaining how to use the bevel feature, you described everything perfectly.
