This is the most wholesome behind the counter video you have made. The family dynamic, their interactions, buying of fish for both children, and the grandfather’s carving hobby. Wow, great video, wonderful family and the food looks amazing!
I love how the father is supportive of both of his children--encouraging the daughter to work on bidding for tuna (can only imagine what it can be like competing with all of the veterans) and seeing the son develop his method of taking the tuna head apart and picking fish. Really like how both of them have their strengths (and varied interests) and combine them in making the menu as well.
It's really the kind of stuff we all like to see. Straight from their own mouths, what their culture is like and how they feel. These family businesses are awesome and I'd love to see more on the dynamics of fish auctions. Edit: the owner's dad seems like a really chill dude you could drink beers and chat with. Also it's cool that the girl talks about her love for Jujutsu Kaisen. Shibuya arc is insane.

Wow!!! This episode was a lot, thank you so much!!! It was like a mini-documentary, we got to see so many aspects of the life and work of this family. I really enjoyed this episode and watched it from beginning till end in one go^^. The dedication and commitment shown by the entire family from grand dad down to the son, grand son and daughter to keep the business and serve with pride only with the best food is really fascinating. The daughter-father relationship is very visible here and I have nothing but total admiration and respect. I wish to visit this place someday if given the opportunity.

Confidence is a skill you have to build continuously, she is apparently on the right path, believe in yourself more 🙂
Such a beautiful & heartwarming family. All of them was very passionate & enjoy their work. The father was very supportive with his son new recipes & encouraging his daughter, hope the son able to make more new recipes, as most would stick with mainstream menu & the daughter to be able to buy confidently. I mean that was awesome considering she's so young against other experienced bidders. But the Oyaji tho. What a guy. Walk in greets Paolo & walk out to show his collection (which is AWESOME collection like wtf).

I love these videos so much. The family seems so great! I'm really rooting for the daughter, I'm sure she'll eventually be great at winning the fish she wants. I'll definitely visit this restaurant when I come to Japan!
This family is lovely. To be taught and supported by a parent is wonderful. The third tuna sounds like it was special. So, I would expect the bidding to be aggressive. She does well when she says it is still a learning experience. It would be amazing to see her ten years from now. Her brother is also very talented. Tuna are animals which have structures. Learning to carve well and with little to no waste shows excellent skill.
I am from India, and I am a big fan of Paolo. I have been watching his videos for a long time. But never in his videos have I seen a Japanese family that gives off a complete family vibe, as he previously covered many family-owned restaurants. I watched this video with a smile throughout, like I enjoyed every moment. This video is itself an anime. A great dad, an awesome grandfather, and his grandkids. There's also a very cute cameo by the owner's daughter's friend. For sure, the owner's daughter will master tuna buying. By God's grace, if I ever had the chance to visit Japan, I would definitely go to this restaurant and try their awesome tuna dishes. Great video, Paolo! An awesome job, as always.
Hey mate, this is one of your better videos! Storyline is the same a.k.a "behind the counter," but wow, what a story this time! So many facets and each more interesting than the last. Yes, I agree, (in the dark recess of your mind) perhaps you should look for other sponsors, bro. Love your videos Paolo!
I watched about the grandfather cooking the tuna head like turkey in Andrew Zimmern's show Bizarre Food about 10 years ago! Amazing how his son and grandchildren are continuing the family business!!
I wish LA was like Tokyo , in regards to the low levels of crime and the outstanding customer service ,it seems like workers in Japan take pride in their work , here, customers and workers (not all ) but rudeness and attitude and shoplifting are everywhere
Paolo, I have been binging a bunch of your family restaurant videos for a few days, and this one has the most compelling characters. This is the one where I feel like it’s a pilot to a reality show about these people and their dynamics. But alas, doing something like that for real would ruin that very precious and rare chemistry. Thanks for producing another amazing video. Much love from the U.S. ❤
I hope the daughter will soon get the convidence the son already has to achieve everything she wants. Really lovely family and the food looks amazing as usual. Great video.

A lot of people interviewed on this channel don’t seem to sleep much - I hope Japan can change culturally because sleep deprivation is bad for mental health.
loved this episode, it was so wholesome! The part that impressed me the most was the father sculptures and hw good they are, its like he said ok time to let my son run the business time to master something new.
For the daughter, I imagine she's bidding against other senior buyers who are selling the same tuna for much higher prices in Tokyo at more expensive restaurants. She has a budget and has to stick to it for their small restaurant to be profitable. Thus, buying tuna is not easy. On an unrelated note, she's really good looking and sweet. Someone is going to come along and marry her soon!

Another good one in the books indeed!
This is what children should be respectful to their parents , what a nice family
I’m guessing this is the sort of video that encourages me to keep learning Japanese. Lovely family, and I hope she gets her Tuna next time.
The dad has such caring and loving eyes. They care about each other a lot and it really warms my heart to see their family dynamics.
We're all rooting for the daughter to win an auction for the best tuna there is!! ☺️🙌🏼🙌🏼
Your best vid so far, Paolo. Fantastic interaction between members of family and co-workers.
Yep, i think that too!
For me as an American.. it's fascinating to see how a family can make a business out of a Tuna head.. would love to go there some day and taste all of that delicious looking food.. thanks for explaining and for all your effort my man
Thank you Paolo for this amazing video. I love Japan and I love Tunaa, and your video is just perfect. Thanks a lot for the amazing work you are doing. I wish you, Maiko and Wolfy a very good festive season. Enjoy christmas and stay safe and continue to share this great content with us.
Thanks!
Thank you!
This is absolutely the best edit that has come from you. What an awesome story telling of a beautiful family. Lost count on how many time I watched it.
I love these videos so much. The family seems so great! I'm really rooting for the daughter, I'm sure she'll eventually be great at winning the fish she wants. I'll definitely visit this restaurant when I come to Japan!
I had no idea what to except when the Father agreed to show off his work, wow! that was impressive
missed you for almost a month. Welcome back, Paolo!
I like this Live in a Day x Behind the Counter crossover, keep them coming!
The daughter is sooo cuteeee. I think I fell in love with her watching this video. She's just a cute and hardworking girl 😭
This is may favourite "Day in the Life" so far, awesome video.
The daughter's friend is also very soft-spoken and timid, beautiful soul ☺
I watched about the grandfather cooking the tuna head like turkey in Andrew Zimmern's show Bizarre Food about 10 years ago! Amazing how his son and grandchildren are continuing the family business!!
Why do I always watch these in the middle of the night when I am hungry... 😥
The production level of this video is amazing!
I love how friendly they are as a family restaurant. I wish them the best so that their tradition can go on.

next level weeb
This is wholesome. Hopefully, the daughter gets the fish she wants in the future. i hope u do a follow-up video sometime in the future. She's 21 and looks at her work ethic. Japanese people are on another level
Maybe the reason why she cant get the tuna she wants is because gojo is still stuck in the damn box....😑
This is such a wholesome family.
Why the need to talk about her physique? It's totally out of topic.
