The portability encourages the manufactures to charge more. People don't want a device stuck with an outlet anymore, let alone a cumbersome one. The Xtreme 4 checks all these boxes: very portable (with premium straps) weighing just 2.1 kg (4.63 lbs). Not to mention the replaceable and very durable battery life (24 hours) and the high-end sound quality.
Really love the ability to easily replace the battery! I have older JBLs with dead batteries which is a shame as there is nothing wrong with them otherwise.

Interestingly I believe that's possible albeit minimal. I'm going to do another sound test on this speaker, focusing on plugged versus unplugged, sometime towards the end of this week to hopefully be up for the weekend. I'll also be using a sound level indicator to hopefully be more accurate 👌
I'm not entirely sure but I don't think it would damage the battery if it's occasionally left plugged in. If it's playing or charging when plugged in it won't matter anyway. But if it's fully charged and not playing you may as well unplug it. I wouldn't worry too much though if you leave it plugged in when not playing and fully charged, as it's probably got a safety feature built-in. I noticed on mine the charging light goes out once fully charged which would indicate that. Hope that helps!
I have found the following information I believe to be correct, but am not certain. Basically, the letters indicate different factories. GG, TL, PL, and ND are all made in China. AN is made in Vietnam. There are differences between them that are too many to list here, but GG speakers are usually well-built, and also have a slightly better bass sound.
It's a great portable Bluetooth speaker. I do think it's expensive though, but if you have the money and want it, why not. That said, you could get two charge 5's for roughly the same money, or two flip 6's for less, or even 3 flip 6's?! Just something to consider. It depends on what suits you best 🤔
I think all types of music sound good on this speaker, including rock music, so I don't see why not. It's really a matter of individual personal perspective though tbh, so just my opinion.
Me too! I think it's an overall really good speaker, just a bit expensive though, when you think the xtreme 3 is only £200 compared with £330 for this?
I purchased the xtreme 4, was very happy with the sound until i heard it at around 40-50%. The loudness is very low even lower than the volume of my charge 5 at 50%. Don’t know if thats the case with all the xtreme 4s or just mine is faulty:(
Yeh it's a strange thing really. It's a bit like a ferrari struggles at low revs and low speed. They can only go fast, or loud in the case of speakers like the xtreme 4. It's beyond my understanding tbh, but I'm sure there's a technical explanation. I might do a sound comparison between the charge 5 and xtreme 4 based on you comment. Thanks a lot 👍
@@MyTechTalksdon’t get me wrong. I like Bose. But their latest Max is ridiculously priced. I bought the Flex at $130. Their new speaker is $400. Ridiculous!
It is ridiculous. They're like Gibson of the guitar world. They make really good guitars but again, really overpriced and apparently a difficulty company to work with. It's like they think they're above others. Bose are similar I think. I had a very long conversation online with a representative where I was asking the power of a particular speaker. And much to my amazement they couldn't/ wouldn't tell me, unbelievable?! They have no detailed specs on their website about any of their speakers. It's like they don't want to share any of their precious information, it's laughable really. And the prices of their speakers on top of that make them very unattractive to me personally. They were probably one of the best once, but not anymore with all the latest technology etc. OK rant over 😆
Nice one. Expensive though can't justify that price for a portable speaker, looking to watch the sound test now 👍
I agree, bit too much really. I remember the first boom box was around the same price not so long ago!

Totally agree, and tbh it should've been made an option before now I think. Better late than never though 👍
This Xtreme 4 speaker which color is more beautiful, blue or black? 🤔

Is there a decrease in bass after the volume level is 70%?

hello i have a question is it ok to leave it the hole time plugged in or is that bad for the battery?

UPS Delivered it to me it's awesome
Cool 😎 👍
when u purchase the jbl xtreme 4 did it came from japan
Bit late replying to this as I missed it. I bought direct from jbl website at jbl.com. It came from the Netherlands.
U missed the bottle opener on the strap 🙂
Thanks for that, I honestly never knew about it, nice one! 👍
I wouldnt pay 400$ for a small speaker. Maybe the boombox 4
The Boombox 2 is cheaper. Lol
$400 can get you a partybox 120, the Xtreme 4 is so overpriced lol
how much is this???loud and clear..
Have a look on Amazon and the jbl website and you'll see it's around £330. Not sure it's worth it tbh. Xtreme 3 would be good enough I reckon 👌
Can you help me ship it to the USA? I would love to buy the blue one please it’s for my brother birthday. Thank you I hope to hear back from you soon
Very sorry I can't do that. Contact JBL on their website at jbl.com and ask them if that's possible. Good luck 🤞
hahahah WTF
If you have Amazon, switch it to the German website, by Google Amazon Germany. I'm in Texas and that's got I got mine.
Would music from bands link Blink 182 sound good on this speaker?

Avevo la JBL Xtreme 3 e poi JBL Carige 5 sì sentiva più forte a livello di volume a differenza del JBL Extreme 3
The most expensive small speaker. Until Bose once again proved they are overpriced.
Yep Bose are sooooo overpriced.

Looks ugly..😐
Yeh it's not as streamlined as others. It's a bit of a lump 🤔
No aux? Can you use usb-c to 3.5mm on that usb c port?
Tbh I'm not 100 percent certain but don't see why not. If you go to the jbl website and open an online chat they should be able to tell you 🤞
How much is it going for?
Too much! £330 and even more in dollars, when you think the xtreme 3 is only around £200 that's a big difference and don't think it's worth it tbh.
