I love this car so much and i'm glad they decided to make a mzansi edition. i was having a bad start to my day. Travelling from Jhb to MP today and i spent the whole day hoping to see one of these on the road just to cheer me up. Saw one in my fav colour (black) at BMW Emalahleni and everything after that was alright. Great review 🙌
Hehehe thaaank you very much for your Awesome comment I really appreciate it. I have one in red and space grey as well and I Absolutely LOVE IT. Why do you not get one here from me??
Good Morning Viwe, Thank you very much for your comment and for watching the video of the 118i Mzansi. I will do my best, I think ours went back to BMW SA, but if it is still available i will definitely do a review. Thank you again for the support 😉
@@JustinOnCars Are they not that popular? That is the 2 GC Mzansis? Don't you think the slight price difference between the 2GC and the 3er makes more customers opt for the more bigger + practical 3er?
@@tshepoboroko2920 Hi Tshepo Thank you for your comment. You have a very valid point there but the 218i Mzansi is only R733k very much se same as the 1er and that is about R200k less than a 320i 3er with an Msport package - about R150k less than a 318i but it is not a massive price difference - I think it is because it is a very niche car and our market tends to go more toward SUV's in general so i think that is the major difference, I think that the Mzansi package is also very expensive where you can get a 218d for the same price but a much better engine at the end of the day. So many factors, it is definitely the type of car that you buy if you really want a BMW but cannot afford a 4 series and you will settle for a sporty smaller BMW that is frontwheel driven - which is also a let down for many people
Hi Simphiwe Thank yu very much for your comment. That is a very good asking price for a 118d. It all depends on where you buy the car to be dead honest with you.
@@JustinOnCars Thank you for your prompt response, i forgot to mention that it's a 2021 year model and is sold by BMW. I am just concerned about the warranty and maintenance plan.
Noo Problem at all, Okay cool through BMW sure that is not bad at all. Well maybe you can add 10000km or so, but with our diesel engines you wont have any issues if you keep it maintained to be honest - very strong motors @@simphiwemchunu152
Hi Sc thank you very much for watching the video and Thank you for the nice comment, really appreciate it. I am not exactly sure as yet as to when we are getting the new BMW X1 U11 but for now you only get the X1 18i and the X1 18d R745k petrol and R785k diesel standard spec. At the Mfest there was an X1 18i Msport for R820k
Hi Justin, does the car have self parking or is it just the 50 meters self driving? I cant find the self parking feature (eg self parking for parallel parking etc)
Hi Najeeb Yeah look if it has the reverse camera it will have park assist most definitely it should be the function just below reverse assist as you put your vehicle into reverse or as soon as you press the PDC button
Hi Andrew - Thank you for the comment. It is possible to spec it like this, but in SA it comes as a package called Mzansi edition. Mzansi stands for South Africa
Hehe Hi Aurora - Noo worries, it is a good question that you have. The normal M-Sport you will just not get the front splitter under the bumper, no side sills and no wing at the back, also normal mirror covers instad of carbon only a standard mirror same color as the car. you do get the same seats etc. just aestetics

Well if you look at the M135i or the 128ti it will eat the GTi for breakfast, but the 118i not as much, it is a quick car the 118i compare to what polo drivers and 1.0 tsi drivers are used to, but cannot compare to a GTi@@brianratsiu3813
If you buying a pre owned or used , what year do you suggest and mileage ? ( normal 1 series included)
" I mean why would I do that, I drive a BMW" 😂😂😂. Nice one Justin.

how many of these were made?
They don't really say as there are a few available for 2023 year as well, but they are limited none the less.
So R750 000.00 gives you that car or less than that one?
R750k you get this CAR like it is 😃
And a roughly monthly payment estimate would be???
I dislike everything you said after you opened up the bonnet
