Why, oh why, is grunge sooo interesting? I would say it appeals to almost all your senses. My ears looooove the crunchy, scrunchy, crinkly sounds, my fingers love the feel of various textures, my eyes love to absorb every little whimsical detail eagerly looking forward to the next page, my nose loves the smell of the coffee dyed paper with, perhaps, a bit on cinnamon mixed into some texture paint.
