You are the most generous and loving ex-therapist and human being I have ever met and seen online. You are such a wonderful man. You have gone through so much "trauma" with your parents and their parents.
Hey, Dan, people is willing to pay is because your content is valuable and unique. it definitely worth it.. I was once want to donate, but myself wasn't in a very good situation, therefore cannot be that helpful. but I want to say thank you for all you have done. your view do help me understand a lot deeply
Yep Daniel, you are lovable, and you ALWAYS WHERE. Congrats for physically, emotionally, and spiritually starting to accept that immutable truth. I think your tears are the proof your starting to truly believe it yourself. This was a very human thing to do to let us see your tears of JOY. (Me to I'm getting it more and more, feels go to see I'm not alone in this)
We're crying with you, Daniel! This was a beautiful video. Thank you. You also remind me what is good about this world. When we look - and when we are facilitated in that search - we find so much to cherish. Thank you to Daniel's Patrons. I will be joining you in the New Year when my scholarship comes in. Keep being you, amazing man.
I think the greatest takeaway from this is that humans are fundamentally GOOD. I was raised in a religious household that believed the opposite. THANK YOU for your worldly insight, for THAT is your greatest reward of all that you now share with the world. The love of money is the root of all evil, but with its good intentions, we can actually leave behind a better world than when we once entered.
Wow! That example you gave with the air plane oxygen masks is something i love to share with people. You're absolutely right, we have to help ourselves first before we can even begin to help others
The more I watch your videos, Daniel, the more I admire you! You are a beautiful person, I wish you all the best and Happy Christmas (or any other holiday you might celebrate).
Thank you for your authenticity Daniel. I love your videos and pointers, I'm going out to Gambia /Lanzarote in February for a month. A friend helps Women and children in a compound in the capital, helping them speak English and selling their hand made crafts. Thank you for your awareness's around trauma, blessings x
I want to support you, but I'm still a student and I don't own a paypal account. Thank you so much! I learned a lot from you and that is priceless. Greetings from China!
You're an inspiration Daniel, your videos help me live more authentically and courageously. I hope many, many more people will benefit from this archive of generous, thoughtful videos you've been building. Congrats on the 50 patrons :)
You cry because the child within lacked that validation and it is beautiful because it is part of the healing journey. Know too that there are those who cannot be a patreon but yet have been helped by your journey of self-discovery and wish you and all other people wellness and loving-kindness, so we can all find wellness, authenticity and actualize a collective common good.
You are the best, I was meant to find your site, thank you! You make me want to be a better person, and not feel bad for having to quit my job of 38 years I hated and disowning a family of toxic people who destroyed me. I want at least a few good years in my life now...I'll be 60 soon but I'm still 30 at heart but physically this toxicity has destroyed me mentally and now physically. Therapists ... too many to count and I'm done with it all. Life coaches on TH-cam now and you are awesome. Patreon got you to a place you needed to be...I'm grateful you shared yourself and your experience. And remember, it's ok not to be ok sometimes. That's from Megan Devine on grieving, love her too. Peace !
Thank you for this beautiful video & for your courageous extraordinary heart❤ I cried and blew my nose right along with you. 😊 💛 May u receive 100 patrons more!😁 🎉
That was truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing who you are. You are inspiring people to do the same, to accept themslves, and more to love and share themselves, and that is just such richness
I look forward to watching your 100-patrons video now. I've benefitted from your videos and though most happy staying home and keeping a low profile, I appreciate hearing about your gregarious visits to exotic places and peoples. You give me confidence to be me!
Thanks for this video, Daniel! And I remember a comment long ago asking why you don't smile in your videos. well i realized that during the lasts 2 videos I found myself laughing a lot! (The drums when you blow your nose hihi). So I might not be there yet, being able to thank the world, far from it; but it gives me hope that one day, I will be able to leave the oxygen mask.
I had a similar experience when I traveled to the Philippines . It was an amazing opportunity for me to experience what it feels like to be totally accepted & connected with an entire nation. They all treated me like family & it was like being in wonderland. ~ That being said, I was a visitor.. And the fact is, these folks extend themselves to make visitors feel warm & welcome, in their company , because it is a part of their social mores, They consider it an honor to greet & host guests in their country, in their businesses, in their homes. ✨🎄😍🌺⭐️💖☕️💞🌞🧸😊😆😀 Thank you for reminding me of so many beautiful reasons to be grateful .🐳 I am grateful for travel, for friendly people, for You Tube, for Apple ( who designed the device I use to access You Tube .. for all the lovely persons I met on You Tube , who have become part of my inner circle. I am grateful for being able to share with you .. 🌷🧸🌞 All the best in 2020 😀😃😊🤓
Daniel. I respect you greatly but why didn’t you spend the money you made from Patreon supporting the revision/change of our mental health system which you often criticize?
Elsa. Everything I can to prevent what happened to me from happening to others. Including asking Daniel what actions he will take besides just talking about it. He never answers that question, unfortunately.
Sarah Min I try my best by contacting my state representatives/senators (Richard Blumenthal, John Larson, and Chris Murphy) by email and phone. I donate as much money as I can to MH “change” organizations like the Center for Evidence Based Psychiatry (CEPUK.ORG) and I try to personally talk with as many people as I can (friends, colleagues and professionals) to urge them to examine the published literature demonstrating how broken our Mental Health system is, which unfortunately I know too well. Someone replied to me that the $1,000 that Daniel makes from Patreon wouldn’t touch our Mental Health system and I agree. That is why concerted efforts are needed to try and deal with this “System”.
Hi Zel -- fair question -- I appreciate it. Actually I didn't mention it in the video but I did see some local herbal doctors in both The Gambia and Senegal and I had some really good conversations with both them and their "patients." They treat basically everything, from broken bones to skin problems to emotional/psychological problems. I mentioned West Africa (specifically Nigeria) in two of my mental health films, Open Dialogue and Take These Broken Wings, as a place that gets better results for treatment of so-called schizophrenia than the USA and England and I believe Denmark. So I was exploring their mental health system -- and I learned some fascinating stuff. For me a big part of changing the mental health system is collecting data on what actually works, so this is a part of that process for me. Actually, all of my travels encompass that. I had it recommended that I make films about what I found, however...my big problem is I hate filming people in emotional crisis. It feels violating. But I should write up what I found. It was certainly interesting! Warm greetings-- Daniel
Daniel Mackler As I said I respect you and what you say greatly, however what you just replied to me begs a greater question....If you hate filming people in crisis....why do you film yourself? Respectfully, Zel Dolinsky, PhD Research Biopsychology

I said to the video and myself: It's okay.

What made you choose Gambia?
Why more of your real life friends haven't joined the Patreon immediately?
I'll give you money if you marry me..lol.

Zel Dolinsky the few thousand dollars he made wouldn’t touch the sides on the mental health system.
