What is surprising to me is how little the lava has broken down after all this time. There doesn’t seem to be any plant life growing between the rocks. In Hawaii ferns are the first to grow, other plants follow of course over time. That the volcano is out there completely blows me away! Any idea as to age? The size of the rim on the caldera seems quite worn down but the amount of lava is amazing! Lol all this of course is through your lens. YOU JUST FIND THE BEST STUFF!!! What highway are you on, I HAVE TO GO THERE!! Thank you for sharing!
Hey Carolyn! I've been watchin you for years now, still making good videos that I always enjoy! Keeps going girlfriend!! All the best to you!❤😊
I've been blessed with getting to see the wild horses in Nevada - it was breathtaking.
This is one of my very favorite videos of yours! Wild horses, women being acknowledged! Thank you🩵
I too am a rv full timer in a class c , I admire you Carolyn and have learned from your channel .
And yes , although I do as many rv repairs as I can learn , going to an RV repair is stressful. Because I do not trust these places.
Peace❤
Yes, I do know about washboard roads in RV's, cars, trucks, motorcycles, it's miserable. Since my rig is my home I usually won't speed up to ride on top of the bumps. It stills feels like an earthquake moving down the road in an RV. I'm never in a hurry, so turtle crawl it is for me. ☮️
Well said!
The road to Indian Reservoir on Walker Ridge is washboard. Just have to go slow.
The spiced butter beans from Family Dollar are so good. I prepare them by soaking the can in the cool refrigerator before opening with a special can opener, then savoring them a specially made white plastic spoon.
What a great town! I think the way "culture" was used was different than what we might refer to. Of course all women from different areas have culture, and women from different countries brought their own cultures.
8:20 Beautiful sunset. Beautiful scenery and video!
Love your channel. You have helped me see some of the world, without me leaving my home. Got me out of a depression. Thank you for being you. And hello Sadie.
Really have enjoyed this video. Thanks.
Great engaging video Carolyn! Love the whole tour of the town of Ely NV.
Thank you for all the info and entertainment.
😊🌿🌺🌿
Carolyn, Thank you for sharing this tour with us so ones like me and many others can live vicariously through you. Will be looking forward to next weeks adventure on the loneliness road in America. Blessings!
With the right tires and rims airing down makes a huge difference! Washboard roads are horrible on the nerves and the rigs!
Cool rocks! It may have been picture jasper? Maybe?
Hi Carolyn
I’m loving the longer videos you have been putting out. Probably lots more work for you, but thank you for the content.
I found your channel in 2020 and have watched since.
I love love your sweetie, Sadie girl ❤️
Keep truckin’
Adrianna & Chris
Loved this! What a cool old town filled with so much history. Thank you for taking us along.
Hello Caroyln,
What a great video. I truly enjoyed how you covered your visit to Ely Nevada. You always work hard to make videos engaging and interesting. Thank you, Caroyln.
Thank you so much!
Carolyn,
We are 100% with you girl on the patriarchy. When I started to talk 50 years in- my mom started to squirm. Women just did not buck the system, don’t you know🙀
And as we evolve- we finally heal so other women may see the light as well.
Thank you Carolyn🫶🏽you rock!
awe, love the wild horses! thx 4 sharing - Lakota Horse Nation!

Loved this! And your musings are appreciated.
So interesting, washboard roads I remember only from childhood 🤣getting shook💞that village was amazing. Enjoy the journey. Go girl.( Red Tent) Good read, too.
Your trip to Mexico was fun. I enjoyed it. My patience would have blown after spending 6 hours sitting when you were first in line. Ah..well..at least you are able to drive. Happy travels!
LOVE your "atttude!" Thanks for this! I've heard of the book, but have not yet read it. It's now on my list!
Beautiful scenic views😍
Enjoyed! Thanks.
Nice Ely tour. I fell in love with Nevada along that highway last summer.
I love looking at old buildings

Love this video. Those lava fields are fascinating! I’ve been to El Malpais National Monument in New Mexico which has an extensive lava field. Hope Sadie is feeling better. Sorry for the frustrations in getting work done on your van. Safe travels.
Carolyn, this was truly a great video. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a great trip again… I totally enjoyed this one. You are the BEST! I changed my handle, but been watching you for awhile now, good blessings ❤
The music was wonderful. Thanks.
Never tried going fast over washboard road. I always crawl over it!
Hey!!! You know how I admire you so, I've been watching you since you started, I bought an RV & have been camping twice & I am looking forward to going up north about 24 hrs, soon? Anyway love you!!!😊 looking forward to your next video!!!

Thanks!
Thank you so much for the Super Laurie! you're super :-)
LOVE it Carolyn! Keep it up❤😂
Wonderful video Carolyn 🎉.
I enjoy all your road trip videos and Satie is a doll. I noticed something when you were getting water. The door seal to your water tank looked to be black with mold. Maybe its just the seal. Don't want you to get sick. Safe travels.
it's been like that for 4 years. LOl thanks for your concern.
I am so happy you went to NM
It’s the coolest area to explore
Ely is my hometown. I loved growing up there is the 60s and 70s.
Ooh, Ely looks interesting. Funny, I've always thought of I-40 as being the only road from coast to coast. Seems like 50 is a close second. Cool. I'll look forward to your trip for sure. I hope your mom is doing well and that your regular visits are good for you both - certainly good for content.
What fantastic skies 😊
Do you think you might have some contenders for calendar pics from this video (rainbow, for example)?
Ahh, good ol’ Rt 50. I live just outside of Ocean City, MD. My daughter has pictures of the signs at each end of the highway!
I was in Quartzsite all winter and the pilot gas station was always out of gas. Loves to busy all the time. I started using Arco on the other end of town price varies like all of them but much easier to get in out of. Safe travels 9:48
Yes have driven on washboard roads, only tried floating once, nevermind again. Always went real slow 😊. Now with motorcycle going in and out of our spot we definitely floated 😅
Great video Carolyn! 😊💜
Thanks for watching
I’ve driven washboard roads you can float over, and some that you can’t. And once with my brother in his VW bus: “THIS IS RUINING MY SUSPENSION!” LOL
Ely on my list to visit, very cool place loved the horses
I can tell one of Sadie's favorite phrase is "chasing bunnies!" Wow, did she perk up when you said that!
yep she knows all the words; cows, chipmunks, critters, bunnies. so many lol
What a nice video…. Like the music
Awesome Quartsite photos!!
I live on a washboard road 😵💫
Good for you for enduring all the mechanical issues with RVing. I couldn’t do it so credit to you. Especially folks you don’t know are reliable and trustworthy. It seems too stressful to me. I hate car repairs except if it’s my tried and true local mechanic. A guy I can trust.
Love Sadie, I hope she is feeling better. She's such a good girl. 😊
🎉 Thanks for your video, one day my son and i will be on the road too🎉
Never a dull moment!
Wow. Ely used to be nothing more than a wide spot in the road. I've driven Hwy 50 back in the early 90s from Denver to Tahoe and saw about 5 other cars. LOL Not that there weren't all the old buildings but nothing was happening in Ely. Interesting how they've added so much to see and learn about the area.
Have you thought about a solar oven? Gosun is having a sale and I just bought another for our grandson to help them save and not heat up their apt. They look odd because they are long and there are other brands with the vacuum tube type- but whatever brand they are fast and get very hot. Up to 550 degrees. That particular type can cook even in snow and don't require full sun. It's good of course but works either way. Not supposed to preheat to avoid thermal shock but they're fast enough you don't need to anyway. Since you park and stay in places you might find it handy to set up and forget and come back to a meal.
The box type are slower and don't seem to get as hot. anyway just a thought.
Oh you’re in Ely; find time to see the Nevada Northern Railway museum and shop. You can learn about Dirt the Cat and his successor, Dirt Junior. The trains are beautiful and certain times you can ride or even drive a locomotive!
Aww i stayed at the KOA there for a couple of nights, nice!!!
Love the video Carolyn!! The music is always awesome and good selection! Was wondering could that song while you were leaving, driving from Issac Turner?? Love Sadie, stay safe!!🩵
I think I saw my truck at the 6:48 mark! Crossing the intersection while you were at the red light. The big white truck. Maybe, maybe not. It sure looks like mine.
Love the blue shirt!
It is a beautiful area to camp.
I love your videos Carolyn. Your resilience encourages me to keep going on the road. Your last video about being on your own again was particularly lovely. Take care.
Thanks for sharing that beautiful scenery around the Black Rock Lava Flow. The radar dome on the ridge is part of the Air Force testing range associated with Area 51. If instead of heading east on the Lunar Crater Road you can head NW, from US-6, towards the Project Faultless underground nuclear explosion test site.
Was thinking as you drove, Carolyn could go visit Matt's off road, and see what he'll come up with for your wheel baring's probably not a bad idea! Times are so wild now, he might come up with a solution for you I love that mural too was good to see it. if you want to read a good book, try the "Red Tent".
Having been raised in Louisiana and a southern Cajun I seen lots of cattle guards and washboard dirt roads and most of the time they do go hand in hand in the country. I do have to say even if it's a pavement road most of the time they stink as well.
Love the historic places you show any meet and greets in NY ?
Nice video! The piece of rock that you picked up at 17:40 looks like it could have been chipped off during the making of an Arrowhead. Very nice video and lots to see. I am looking forward to the loneliest highway drive. Thanks for taking us along and thumbs UP! Safe travels to you and Sadie.
You're very welcome my friend!

@@CarolynsRVLife I tried , by the time I figured out how to get on to it , it was done. LOL
Another great video I thought the views were amazing
Glad you enjoyed
I loved your video!!! I just subscribed. Question: were you a teacher? I’m new here so I haven’t looked at all the videos. You are a really good teacher. I taught for more than 40 years. Now I teach music at a studio. Thank you for this video. I must check out the rest!
Hi Mary, Welcome and thank you for joining my adventures. No, I wasn't a teacher. I have a degree in political science and my career was sales and marketing. LOL
My first dog Indy used to love hearing wanna go see gramma.
Hey! What band were you playing in the video at the 38:00ish mark? Thanks! ✌️
Music info is always in the video description
I guess I didn't do my due diligence 😅 ✌️
Can't you charge the Bluetti with the cigarette lighter port?
I have the AC200 and charge while I'm driving.
You should check out all the different hotsprings in nevada 👍
Ely train tracks was a movie site. I can’t remember the movie. ❤
That camp spot by the lava flow looked really inviting. Also, thanks for the mini tour of Ely. 🙂
I remember you saying your valve stems may be bad, my son said to put soapy water on them to see if they're leaking.
Nice to see you Carolyn.
FYI:
On the news today - credit card scamming devices are increasing nation-wide. I hand my credit card to the cashier and ask them to hand-enter the info into their computer.
I wish I knew you were in Vegas. I would’ve sent u to a mechanic who wouldn’t have let you drive cross country with an axel issue !! Grrr
Yes I've driven down those washboard roads, I wouldn't drive fast because I'm sure my 28ft RV would not fly, so I go slow.
Carolyn I’m sure u have covered this at some point. You don’t have a tow vehicle. Do u ever wish u had one, or have u just gotten use to unhooking and driving to get what you need?
You can actually "float" on any washboard road; it's dependent on your speed and the distance between the bumps. If the bumps are closer together, you can float at lower speeds. If they're farther apart, you need to go faster to achieve the same effect. On the other hand, faster speed on a washboard road means you have much less control over the steering, so it may not be worth the trade-off.
