Wreck em’, we at TTU are stunned. Regardless of how it ended here, no common fan ever wanted him to go. He built up TTU’s rough and rowdy reputation

Started to tell a friend this morning that Mike had died and I couldn't get it out, just started crying. Didn't see it coming (my tears). Like losing Norm Macdonald to me, ya just know there will never be another anything like them. Great tribute Rich love ya man.

What happened at Texas Tech was between him and the administration. The Raider nation never stopped loving him and is in mourning today.

Best coach I have ever met. Was one of the main factors of me being able to make the transition from being a DC to a HC/OC. The world is worse off without him.

As a Michigan fan, really loved and enjoyed his coaching and press conferences. So sad. RIP

My daughter is a junior at State. I graduated law school at Bama and am a season ticket holder. But as much as I respect GOAT Saban, I cannot help but admire Coach Leach. A genius of a man. Hail State! RIP Coach Leach

    R. I. P. Mike Leach. The deadpan delivery of everything from coaching facts to outrageous comedy was legend. There are ZERO interviews or discussions that Coach Leach had where I didn’t look at the TV/radio funny. The man was a brilliant idiot and will be missed by all odd fellows.

You were one in a million coach. I loved your cameo in Friday Night Lights.

The Clip of Coach Leach giving advice is both laugh out loud funny and poignant at the same time.

I've always loved Mike Leach. He was a mad genius, and I loved his pirate analogies.

Lincoln Riley is from his coaching tree. 3 Heisman winners, not to mention Tim Couch (finished 4th) have Mike Leach, among many others and their hard work obviously, to thank for their success. RIP Sir.

My Leach was the only coach that I was a "fan" of - meaning that I followed his career - and enjoyed listening to him as the occasion occurred. RIP.

He was one of those guys you weren't quite sure was pulling your leg or serious. Probably both. His tongue was firmly in-cheek his whole life. Never cared much about the defense, or he might have won a conference title or two more, and maybe a natty. His offense was that good. I hope we get more coaches like him, that aren't afraid to be themselves, not apologetic for the decisions they make, and are interesting outside the world of football in a conversation. The sport needs less of the stodgy, question-dodging, "don't you know who the star is?" coaches.
