I’m a Jamaican myself and can complete relate to this story this man just told so when I say he’s not joking about Jamaica mom’s and graduation, di man nah bloodclaat joke!
This year there was a classmate selling snacks and sweets in class. One day he was absent (restock maybe) and the whole class was grumpy cause they were hungry, when the teacher asked what's up, we said the plug ain't here today and break is still 2 periods away. when he came back the next day it was a party, stock ran out in the morning. Lucky guy.
I remember I was in Middle School and my whole grade was told the same thing "Get a suspension or get caught doing something that's against the rules, you can't walk." We were only in 8th grade but still you know. One of the dudes thought "Eh whatever." and did some shit he had no business doing, got caught, and as we were leaving school at the end of the day he was balling his eyes out. Everyone knew what happened and everyone was probably praying for the dude because he was Mexican, so he got that ass whooped when he got home man.
Hi , I’m twelve years old , I’m Jamaican and I’m actually starting my freshman year at the Ardenne high school , same school you barely graduated from 😂 . But anyways I loved this vid ✌️
you know, it's a good feeling when you can say to someone "im going into 4th form" and they understand. im tired of saying 10th grade or explaining my school system
6:30-6:33 is one of my favorite quotes and it got me through this intro drafting and designing class that I took so one day I’m struggling like hell and than out of know where my stepbrother comes strolling on through and he says hey to my teacher mr Wilson and he tells my teacher that I’m his stepbrother and at that moment my teacher was like alright mr Strickland come up and here and when I saw him change my grade it was like “looking at candy for the first time” and I asked why he did it and he told me it’s not what you know it’s who you know 🙏
Yooooo Young Don! Big fan ever since 2018 (I know I'm a lil late to the party, but don't worry, I caught up haha) Anyways, out of all your "moral of the story" videos, I gotta say, this one resonated with me the most. I got mad chills at the end and here's why... Ever since 8th grade, I've dreamed of swimming in college at the division one level as well as becoming a physical therapist one day. I've trained harder than I've ever had and started to take school seriously. I was training 9 times a week for two hours. Half of which being 5am morning practices. Most of my coaches and teammates doubted me since I've never had any natural talent for the sport. Ultimately, by my senior year of high school, I was somewhat division one material. I ended up getting accepted to University of the Pacific (UoP) for their physical therapy program and BARELY got a "walk-on" (meaning no scholarship) spot on their swim team. Here's the thing though... The coach that recruited me ended up leaving to the University of Arizona a couple weeks before school was gonna start... Because the UoP Men's Field Hockey team got cut, the University decided to reduce the number of men allowed on the swim team for some dumb reason. As a result, a few other guys and I were dropped from the team. They were allowed to do this since we haven't signed a contract yet (we were supposed to when the school year was gonna start). The few other guys and I were offered to start on their sorry excuse of a club team and make our way up to then officially get on the swim team later on during the school year or perhaps even later. The few other guys ended up saying "fuck that" and decided to just focus on school full time as their dreams were crushed. Although my dreams of competing at the division one level were crushed as well, I've decided to suck it up in means of redemption and join the club team (which mostly consisted of annoying ass Stockton TikTok looking ass high-schoolers with the exception of a few college students just swimming for fun). Right before all this covid stuff went down, I've had one of the best club competitions of my life. I went all personal best times (which were already pretty fast to begin with) AND even placed amongst the top 16 in the events (which is rlly hard to do. Any swimmer knows that). I've sent essay long emails to the new head coach of UoP just for her to tell me that I'm still not good enough and that she wanted even faster times than that. This was extremely lame since UoP is like 60th in the nation or something like that. I haven't lost hope doe so I trained even harder despite the covid situation. Aight. This comment is getting a lil too long so Ima cut it short... So basically over the summer to the present time, I've been training under the coach (the coach that got me to where I wanted to be in the sport) I had in high school and now we have bigger plans that involve a lot of RISK. With the fall semester going online, I'm going to be training my ass off for the next 5 months while making sure I do the little things right outside of the pool like enough sleep, a strict diet, stretching and mobility drills on my own time, etc. IF all goes as planned and if I end up becoming really raw by the end of these five months. I'm going to take a gap semester in the spring of 2021 and gonna swim full time with my old high school coach in hopes of getting on the University of Southern California Swim Team by Fall of 2021. USC is like 20th in the nation (for men's swimming) or something like that, but at the end of the day I'm there for an education as well, so they also conveniently have one of the best physical therapy programs in the nation as well so it's a win-win! The main reason also why I'm doing this is because my mom is raising us three kids on her own while working three different jobs in order to survive the housing costs of California. I'm currently taking out student loans that are accumulating in interest. It costs me 18 grand a year to go to UoP. I guess that's pretty good considering it costs 60 grand to attend the university, but USC would cost me barely $1,000 a year since that school gets a lot more funding. Hope it all works out. "He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life" - Muhammad Ali Thanks Young Don for the motivational vids! I'll edit this in 5 months to see whether or not I'm gonna take the risk.
I was thinking about playing football again because I believe it's my path. I always been good at sports besides hockey, golf, the odd shit. (no offense to anyone) I'm great in school never had a problem with anything my mother struggles and still kind of is but doing a lot better when I was 9, 10 years of age and even younger. My dad is above average when it comes to making money. The only thing is I just don't want to play but was thinking about going back. (if that makes since) my brother too, we had plenty of time to talk about going back and is this really what we want to do. as soon as this corona hit i dont know what to do, life just said: "you had your chance now look what happened." I hope its not to late I am semi - training as of currently and just hope nothing else happens. I feel like I threw everything away because the amount of chances and offering I got was dumb thick. Just wishing for the best so I can provide for my family. It doesn't just stop there... I can sing, dance, draw the list goes on i have all this talents and don't known what to do. My dad keeps telling giving me speeches about finding my way, my path in life since its my senior year. His dream and goal is for me and my brother to have a functional life. Plus he wants to see us play because he knows how gifted we are when it comes to sports. And doesn't want us to repeat his footsteps im not his first son, but when he had his first son he had him to early which knocked he's chances of going to college because of his mistake of having him early. I make him cry, feel angry because he knows he did the same thing and doesn't want to see it again in our lifes. (My dad is hard-core when it comes to training and showing his emotions around us) I really don't want to see him feel the way he did when this happened. Its hard writing this myself holding back tears and human emotions. What should I do?

This year there was a classmate selling snacks and sweets in class.
One day he was absent (restock maybe) and the whole class was grumpy cause they were hungry, when the teacher asked what's up,
we said the plug ain't here today and break is still 2 periods away.
when he came back the next day it was a party, stock ran out in the morning. Lucky guy.
Don: even if I didn't graduate I don't care I'm glad I did what I did.
Me: He's so COOOOOOOL
I remember I was in Middle School and my whole grade was told the same thing "Get a suspension or get caught doing something that's against the rules, you can't walk." We were only in 8th grade but still you know. One of the dudes thought "Eh whatever." and did some shit he had no business doing, got caught, and as we were leaving school at the end of the day he was balling his eyes out. Everyone knew what happened and everyone was probably praying for the dude because he was Mexican, so he got that ass whooped when he got home man.

6:30-6:33 is one of my favorite quotes and it got me through this intro drafting and designing class that I took so one day I’m struggling like hell and than out of know where my stepbrother comes strolling on through and he says hey to my teacher mr Wilson and he tells my teacher that I’m his stepbrother and at that moment my teacher was like alright mr Strickland come up and here and when I saw him change my grade it was like “looking at candy for the first time” and I asked why he did it and he told me it’s not what you know it’s who you know 🙏
Also my grade was at like a 65 😂
Changed it into an 80
Yooooo Young Don! Big fan ever since 2018 (I know I'm a lil late to the party, but don't worry, I caught up haha)
Anyways, out of all your "moral of the story" videos, I gotta say, this one resonated with me the most.
"He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life" - Muhammad Ali
Thanks Young Don for the motivational vids!
@@IsDatTreyy Sorry to hear brotha. Follow your intuition man and whatever happens, happens (as long as you know you did everything in your power to achieve whatever you want to achieve). It's a huge risk which is why most folks don't take em. In regards to Young Don the Sauce God, he followed his passion and grinded for so long to get to where he's at today. Don't get discouraged by set backs, cuz I definitely had my fair share and just keep going.
Just make sure whatever you choose, that you always have a plan B.
