this posting on social media has got on to the nerves of many indian politicians and army personnels' has proved detrimental to national security yet again.

🤦🏻 When you've nuclear powered ballistic missile submarines prowling under waters and many modern warships armed with nuclear capable cruise missiles and what not which are fitted with vertical missile launchers which are standard missile launchers of any missiles be it conventional or nuclear in all modern warships.. why do they have the need to have specialized ships which needs specialized equipments put on top of it to launch nuclear missiles which are very distinctive and can be seen and recognized by just about anyone? They removed the equipments and repurpose the ships coz the system is obsolete and they no longer use the system and posted those photos coz they no longer care. Funny media is making a big deal out of it.

The issue here is both INS were test platforms for the 'Dhanush'. They were also used to launch the ballistic missiles during tests for the ABM systems (the Dhanush launches from the sea) and the ABM from wheeler island. So no - these were not intended for offensive use.
What is the big deal? They can be moved around.

LOL! Anyone who even remotely monitors Indian defense knows that as soon as the Arihant class boomers were commissioned, the OPVs were stripped of nuclear missiles. The capability to launch missiles were still retained to launch targets for testing the BMD system. But now with the second missile launchpad in West Bengal, even that is redundant, hence the stabilizers were removed. Pretty common knowledge.

This seems like nonsense. The Dhanush missile is nuclear-capable just as much as any fighter jet is capable of carrying a nuclear bomb. The chance of those ships carrying any nuclear deployed missiles is very low. Most likely, they were just conventional warheads on the Dhanush missile. Plus, they are Offshore Patrol Vessels, they do patrolling, anti-piracy, and escort duties. They are far from a top-of-the line ship. If the Indian navy were to have nuclear warheads deployed on a ship, it would be destroyers, frigates, missile corvettes, or the aircraft carriers Vikrant or Vikramaditya.
