  • This is the second video of my new series Infantryman’s guide. In this video we will look at some of the more commonly used individual gear used by terrorist organizations and hostile nations. As a forward deployed combat soldier, sailor, airmen, or Marine, you should have a basic understanding on the type of load bearing equipment our enemy typically utilizes.
    Don't forget check out PART I featuring the more commonly used enemy weapons: • INFANTRYMAN'S GUIDE: E...

    It's well worth mentioning that the Type 56 3 cell rigs and Type 81 four cell rigs can also be stretched to accommodate two magazines per pouch with both standard 7.62x39 AK mags, along with obviously AK-74 mag pouches and AR mags.

    Langley has been buying Blackhawk gear for years and supplying it to non-state actor groups, including ISIS. There is also locally-made load bearing equipment we have seen from as far as Chechnya to Eastern Europe.
    I have some 1990s-era Spetsnaz gear that is really good. Basically copies of LBT but with metal buckles that won't snap in the winter, with some Russian-specific grenade and bayonet pouches/attachment points. They used woodland Cordura for the vests.

    I'm not sure about this but I believe that RPG bag you show isn't German. All NVA gear beared the Regentarn or Strichtarn pattern, except helmets. I might be wrong though.

    • @Brent0331
      @Brent0331  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'll have to check my bags when I get a chance but I'm sure I remember seeing NVA stamped on them. I bought them from Numrich gun parts which advertises them as being East German. I both a canvas and rubberized bag both in straight OD. I have seeing rain pattern bags as well. I haven't seen an original photo yet of a plain OD style RPG bag in a picture but this guy has an OD bag as part of his East German RPG collection: www.flickr.com/photos/chrisstreckfus/4936297003

    • @whynotjustmyusername
      @whynotjustmyusername 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I just asked my father, who was a lieutenant of the NVA. He says they didn't even have carry bags for the RPG, they just carried on the back like an MPi (the NVA declared assault rifles as machine pistols for w/e reason). Maybe it's a fake?

    • @Brent0331
      @Brent0331  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The bags are not carry bags for the launchers but are intended to hold the Rockets and boosters only. Check out the two links I have posted. The first link is a picture of a East German RPG gunner with an A-gunners bag sitting next to him. The second link is to a message board where the guy is asking about the same RPG rocket bag if its East German or not. One of the guys who posted says the following: "The East Germans made three variants, Vinyl coated canvas, green canvas and rain pattern canvas, in both gunners (two pocket) and assistant gunners (three pocket) variations. Here's a shot of my assistant gunners pouch like yours." (He has pictures on the forum)

    The thing about all the combloc gear is that it works. Yes it's a pain in my nut sac but it is serviceable. Simple and rugged. No frills. A bro of mine a vet of Desert Storm (the first gulf war) brought back some AK pouches and other gear. He's been through multiple condor etc pouches for his AK but his Iraqi camel humper AK pouches still work. Go figure.

    trust me trent that stuff is not used anymore in the middle east, maybe you can find some ak mag pouches and chicom cheat rigs and rpg backpacks from time to time but the most used "tactical style vest" in lebanon syria and iraq are chinese knockoff CIRAS vests made for airsoft, basically every molle vest or chest rig you can find on aliexpress is used in the ME and in lebanon the most popular type of webbing is the israeli a11 ephod harness but originals are hard to come by and most of the ones you find on the market are locally made but work very well and probably the most comfortable webbing you can wear for any combat scenario
    PS : marpat is very very popular with militants in the ME now

      Hey brother, I appreciate your input. I generally agree from what I've seen in the Syrian fighting videos/pictures, I start making that very point at 9:18 . To say they're not using it anymore at all I don't know about that. In places like Afghanistan a lot of these guys are fighting with bolt guns, old crap etc. Insurgents are going to wear/fight with what ever they can get their hands on. We've got guys all over the world though too. In Africa everything I've seen from terrorist groups like Boko Haram are all wearing old chicom/combloc gear, or something that resembles it.
