Same! That dude is one of the few that i would never get in the ring with! TBH, I would have gotten my ass whipped by all of them but Bas Ruten had a brutality that was unnerving and he enjoyed it!
After I saw him on Rallarsving, I realized he is actually quite sweet haha
His fights against Minoru Suzuki and Ken Shamrock in Pancrase were INSANE. Definitely got me into MMA as a whole.

If you watch early Guga videos he talks about martial arts a lot. Angel is one of his students. I think a few of the others too. He does a Korean style which is another reason he's into Asian cuisine.

Bas is incredible, the man had his last MMA fight back in 1999 but till this day he stayed one of the most relevenat people in his sport, thats quite the achivement!

This was amazing, Bas has the personality to make any cooking show feel more interesting and entertaining, and being a Pancrase fighter as if you know the legendary Japanese professional Wrestler Minoru Suzuki, he’s one of the founders of Pancrase and man was a beast in that art and knew how to make a match interesting
Suzuki even makes a "cameo" at about 55 seconds.
