I watched hxh when I was 12 and I rewatched it now at 22 and realized killua is so in love with gon. I'm not sure if gon's feelings towards killua are romantic or platonic but surely it's more than friends and if anyone's denying killua's feelings towards gon they're clearly blind. Like even with killua's character development building emotions, making friends for the first time I don't think he'd go that far if he wasn't in love. It's killua respecting Gon for who he is and realizing that he is light and he always has been, he's the one who saved him and who's always been so bright and optimistic and always makes the best out of any situation. In this scene, Killua lets himself down in Gon's light, allows himself to feel this ''wow'' moment of pure admiration and love, and it's absolutely beautiful. (MAJOR SPOILERS) That's why I felt like crying when Killua was watching Gon sacraficing himself to kill Pitou. I remember his look being filled with despair because he was about to lose the one person he loves most in his life, his light.

It's killua respecting Gon for who he is and realizing that he is light and he always has been, he's the one who saved him and who's always been so bright and optimistic and always makes the best out of any situation. In this scene, Killua lets himself down in Gon's light, allows himself to feel this ''wow'' moment of pure admiration and love, and it's absolutely beautiful.

That's why I felt like crying when Killua was watching Gon sacraficing himself to kill Pitou. I remember his look being filled with despair because he was about to lose the one person he loves most in his life, his light.
Killua definitely loves Gon, but I think its platonic. Romantic love implies a physical attraction that is completely absent in their interactions.
