I like that you get some of these moments where you see that not all Decepticons are malicious uncaring monsters incapable of change. Sure they do bad things but I'm sure there are plenty of cons who simply believed Megatron's vision for the future only to realise either that he only actually cared about himself and his own personal goals and/or that Autobots weren't necessarily all as bad as what he'd led them to believe.
tbf in this show (and Siege and Kingdom) Megs is shown to genuinely care about the cause he's fighting for. Sure, it's implied that he's done some bad shit prior to Siege, but you can still tell he genuinely cares about his cause. When Magnus visits him, he doesn't tell Magnus that he's gonna kill all the Autobots. He simply tells Magnus to get the Autobots to surrender to end the war. He's willing to end the war peacefully, but he's not willing to end his cause. Once we get to Earthrise, Megs is shown that he genuinely cares for those under him, and the cause. After all, when Shockwave says that they need to shut down sector 12, Megs tells him to only do it when he says it. And what does Megs do? He goes to sector 12 to personally visit those that are helping his cause, and even says that he's here for all his Decepticons. When the worker says that he watched him in the arena before the war, Megatron responds with "Spoken like a true Decepticon". It's only when the show goes on that he genuinely begins to lose himself. As Cybertron dies, he finally gives in to Shockwave's requests, using the broken down Decepticons as fuel to allow the Nemesis to take off. As Kingdom goes on, he gets more and more erratic, because he knows that if he doesn't get the Allspark back, Cybertron is fucked. He becomes more desperate, and more angry. It's only at the very last episode when Starscream tells him that they need to fight for a better future that he finally realizes what's going on. He makes the choice to fight against Galvatron, teaming up with the Autobots and Maximals. And when the dust settles? He simply takes his warriors and leaves the Autobots and Maximals alone. After all, Cybertron is saved. There's no reason to fight anymore.

I understand the fan criticism of this series... but I really enjoyed it. I think this, Prime, the '86 movie, and Transformers One are my favorite animated versions of TF lore.
whats always jaring to me in this show was how, in one scene, you can see characters talking to each other. And then the next scene they're just gone with no explanation. Example is this scene here where we see Megatron talking to Elita in one moment. And then after Elita and the autobots get placed into the pods, Megatron just disappears. And then Scrapface shows up to save the Autobots. If I hadn't known that Megatron wasn't in the area anymore, I would've asked why Megatron wasn't stopping Scrapface until the scene transitioned to where Megatron was actually in another room already.
Probably has something to do with animation? Why waste time having to resketch and draw an intricate character when you have basic stock background, that is to say the background over and over again. Otherwise you just have the character standing there motionless, it's a pain to animate something moving away for no reason.
Some cut frames are time skips. I've not seen this series in its whole yet but would suspect it is the style of animation this is. There are many styles of writing the story board like this. Giving the viewer their own theories and thoughts about what did happen. Open ended frames and plot lines. Just like anything else that can be open ended can be up for interpretation.
@@OldieWan it’s still too jarring of a cut, it doesn’t matter if it’s an intentional design choice if majority of the audience doesn’t get it, it even ruins the immersion which is counter intuitive.
