    Thanks SO MUCH for this. I was there Sunday night and was agonizing like mad about missing out on certain songs..wish Win had come in thr crowd like this but they did come right next to me when they went to the stage in the middle of the crowd. Happy to see this as I was heavily agonizing about missing out on any songs. Hate myself for being late and missing Rococo. Was a dream come true when they played Half Light II thop! Maybe I'll post it even tho the quality isn't half as good as yours cos I was in the back and more focused on dancing ecs this was such so healing for me cos it was the first time I had been out since I unexpectedly lost my mom 💔 She used to take me to shows of any and all bands I loved in the early 2000's btwn ages 12-15ish even tho she was disabled. Saw the Strokes here in 2002 I think? Interpol, The Libertines, Kings of Leon, Rooney, The Walkmen, The Datsuns, Adam Green, Ben Kweller and so many others I cant remember. I fuckin miss her so much and cried like a baby during Tunnels. I know she was there with me tho cos while she never got to see them w/ me she enjoyed their music. Anyways they're my everything just like she was and they have literally been one if the only things helping and distracting me so much thru my never ending grief, isolation and darkness. I was surprised I was the oldest fan (33) in the group who waited outside for them after the show as Ive been one since Funeral. Seen them for both tours for Suburbs (snuck into outside lands when it had become nearly impossible after they banned in's/out😢😢's hah)) and in 2014 for Reflektor...one of my top 5 best shows. Deeply regret not saving up more for a vip ticket to meet them...maybe one day I can tell them how much their music has changed me. Being a 14 yr old sneaking out late every night with my bestie and being dumb kids having the best time of our lives getting wasted on whatever and listening to Funeral over and over again. And now WE has been the only thing thats brought some light into my darkness during the worst time of my life and helped me be a better mom for my son during my intense often suicidal grief. I doubt anyone will read this or will roll their eyes but if you have any love for them like I do or just any compassion for others suffering..thanks for reading my arcade fire truly has saved my soul and life story 😅 I feel so silly but I'm just being 💯 vernable and honest 🥲🤭😢😢😢

      The important thing to remember is that Win is only 1/10 of what makes Arcade Fire great. You can feel whatever you want about him, but still appreciate the rest of the band who are equally important. At the Seattle show the crowd went nuts whenever Regine took the lead, she's the star of the band now. Win's lucky to be along for the ride.

      Speaking as a woman from the baby boomer generation, i understand that it’s time women are heard when it comes to sexual misconduct, however I have to question a woman who says she was raped TWICE?? If she was assaulted the first time why did she put herself in a position for it to happen again? The fifth woman to come forward was in a relationship with him for 3 years. She says he only was interested in her for sex, duh.
      I don’t know if any of these women’s jobs were dependant on having sex with him.
      What he did was shitty absolutely, but they were all adults. I also have to question why do we have to automatically and unconditionally believe the “victims”?? Doesn’t HE get the benifit of the doubt.
      Sorry that’s just my opinion, I’m sure it won’t be very popular

    • @jagerblitzen4017
      @jagerblitzen4017 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@850081236 You're trying to fit this situation into too many absolutes. Consent is much more complicated than a simple yes or no. Many women in relationships with a male who has significantly more power than them (whether its because of their job, or their celebrity status, or political position, etc) will find themselves finding it scary or difficult to say no to a man who is pressuring them. Whether or not they agreed in the moment doesnt mean they had a true sense of consent. Reluctant, pressured, sex isn't consensual sex. And its completely fair for these women to come to this realization years later and say "You know what? I didn't enjoy that, and it was fucked up to feel pressured into that, and people should know that this man wields his power this way." If you only think of consent in terms of "well she said yes so...." you will let many creepy men off the hook for doing extremely creepy things. Sex should be joyful and welcomed and not something you feel you have to do even if you agree to it.
      As for believing victims - the reason people are saying "Believe accusers" isn't to cast some blanket rule over every single allegation - its to acknowledge that 99% of the time allegations ARE actually true, and to acknowledge that its important enough to believe women enough to do due diligence and investigation in the first place. Society has operated for decades the opposite - stalwartly refusing to hold men accountable or even to investigate unless there's some avalanche of unavoidable evidence. And that puts the vast majority of victims in a shitty position where there's no point even sounding the alarm, because they know society's default action will to be to ignore them if they don't have damning evidence handy. And that's completely unfair for the victim. So while the door should be left open to find the (exceedingly rare) case of a false allegation, its important to default to a state of believing the victim for purposes of taking immediate action to protect others and to ensure justice is done. We're not talking about immediately throwing people in prison just on a few words of whim, we're talking about respecting the fact that it takes enormous courage to come forth in the first place and that courage should be met by an equal amount of willingness to see justice served.

    Pathetic... San Francisco should be ashamed. I was fortunate enough to see the last show of this tour at Centre Bell in Montreal a few weeks after this concert. It was unbelievable! The crowd was totally engaged, and the band was phenomenal! I listened to Win Butler on the Smartless podcast the other day, and he told a story about playing the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. The crowd sucked. Looking at this video, I think Win might have another story to tell....
