Honestly, my favorite is Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol. It's actually pretty funny and decent story line.

Agreed. I love them all to varying degrees, but 4 is my absolute favorite.
4 was the last really good one. My order of favorites are 1,2,4,3. After 4 though is when the franchise was over for me. I saw all of them, but 5,6, and 7 aren't good IMO

Don't give up on this series. I applaud you for actually being the only reactor, that I watch, doing the Police Academy movies. Personally, my favorite is #6 but I do enjoy the whole series. You seem to get the laughs from this franchise which should hopefully keep you wanting to see the rest. I hope you do so I can continue this journey with you.

6 is also one my favourites.
My favourite is the second and first but closely followed by the fifth, the villain is hilarious.

If anything this series shows how awesome it is that people have differences, and how judging them based on appearances or prejudices is stupid and wrong. The ones who judge are shown to be fools and always get their comeuppance. 👍
That was actually a re-enactment of something from the first movie, where she didn't want him to join the academy, now it was her turn.
One of the funniest moments in PA 1 was when Banks, and Copeland confronted Mahoney in the cafeteria, when Banks was verbally antagonizing Mahoney, Copeland grabbed some mashed potatos off his tray, and told Mahoney what he was going to do on the count of three, and he counted 1, 2 and Leslie Barbara took his tray, and slammed it in Copelands face before he got to 3.

We get Captain Harris from the first movie make his return plus Proctor returns. Same cast of police officers in 4 return. It is very funny. I really enjoy your reactions

In answer to that question, there's a deleted scene where Zed (Played by Bobcat Goldthwaite) was given the same deal that Mahoney had been given in the 1st movie
As a kid I loved this one the most because of all the action with the jets at the end
Police Academy is an amazing movie franchise.....
Number 3 & 5 are my favourites, but there isn't a bad movie in the collection
Zed may have been a criminal in the last one but remember mahony and jones were also criminals in trouble with police in1

Great reaction! I am so glad you carried on with this series and hope you do more (the next is my favourite which i love even more than the original). I was born in 1980 and grew up with these films. Renting one each time another was made, and taoing them for regular viewing as soon as they were on tv. I still love the first 6 films now.

So luck to have picked up at Walmart one day maybe years ago a box set to all the movies on DVD.

You are not wrong about the quality of these movies. They are definitely diminishing returns and they have a predictable formula. But in the 80s they were wildly popular and, at the time, you had to wait a year so it was like an event. People got nostalgic for the characters. They also became (strangely) family friendly which helped the box office. They are not classics, by any means, but they have some fun, silly, un-PC moments that are fascinating for their outrageousness. I grew up with these films and I felt guilty laughing at some of the jokes. But they’re not mean spirited and the good guys are very inclusive (for their time). Police Academy 4 is my favorite- and the last one Steve Gutenberg did.
You can't go wrong with Police Academy movies! They're silly, over the top comedy, but there is more underneath, they're also showing outsiders becoming a team, friends, even more: a familiy. And if you find friends who take you as you are, they will stand by you and you can accomplish anything. Don't judge a book by it's cover!

Police Academy 6 is the best one with Michael Winslows' [Jones] impressions and sounds.
The 1st and 3rd are my favourite ones. I feel old now because I saw 3,4 and 5 when they were in the cinema.

You could do worse than catch no. 4 too. 5, 6, 7 does take a heavy dip in quality. Though Leslie Easterbrook (Callahan) does save no. 7 a little bit.

Personally in the whole movie franchise the 3rd one is my favourite but I think they are all great maybe apart from 7 for not having like hightower or hooks or fackler in it

You’re right, the first 2 we’re pretty good but they started to get old afterwards. Part 4, IMO, is better than 3, but it’s definitely the last one worth watching. I think some of the 80s comedies without sequels are some of the best- “One Crazy Summer”, “Summer School”, DC Cab”. Or, now that it’s October, how about some horror comedies. I recommend “Return of the Living Dead” from 1985, and, “Night of the Creeps” from 1986.

Well this has 20K views now. Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol is the best one, it has a new catchy theme song too. After 4th one though I don't even remember any of the movies but please watch the 4th one.
As a few others said, Police Academy 4 is better than 3, but after 4 things do go downhill, mostly because Mahoney wasn’t in any of the ones after 4. There were some parts of 6 that were funny (mostly stuff recycled from the earlier movies), but Steve Gutenberg was the main reason why the earlier ones were so funny.
One of the beautiful things about a lot of the movies from the 1970's and 80's is that they deal with issues (such as bigotry) in such a way that the audience sees it as ridiculous. Blazing Saddles is probably the best example of this. People who get offended by it today don't realize what the movie is trying to do - make a change in culture by making the bigots objects of humorous scorn.
I hope you react to further movies. #3 is definitely the worst one I've seen (I only watched the first 6 - don't know how many straight-to-video ones were made), #4 is probably my favorite (though that might be nostalgia because it was the first one I ever saw).

The one you call "glasses" is played by Tim Kazurinsky, an underrated hero of Saturday Night Live's forgotten Ebersol era, where he starred alongside Andrew Rubin (the guy who played the Spanish heartthrob in the original Police Academy) and Eddie Murphy.

I love the 4th and the 6th. 7, 5 & 3 are the weekest ones in my opinion.
The fourth one is the last one o feature Sgt Mahoney (Steve Guttenberg) and is pretty good.

That's the problem with our world now , we are so trying to much making everyone happy when no one is, for we just can't laff and have fun.

7 feels like it broke the formula and it disappointed me but I still loved the subplot with Lassard. 😁
I feel that 5 and 7 are the worst, but number 6 was great, especially with Kenneth Mars supporting. Mind you, 7 got a bit of a boost thanks to Ron Pearlman who was awesome! --- Ultimately though, I relegate 5 and 7 specifically for us fans. They're not the best of the series, but we like 'em still!

Great to see you back on the Police Academy movie reactions. I would say definitely give the 4th one a watch as it's pretty funny, but it'd probably be best to stop after that one.
I grew up on this series as crazy as it sounds the series is very enjoyable to a point Police Academy 5: Miami Beach isn’t great but, it’s actually the last HQ film in the series 6 & 7 are so bad…. (I’m pretty sure 7 was a direct to video sequel) great video btw not enough people spotlight The film series there’s been rumors of a re-boot the last 20yrs (but, it doesn’t really need to happen imo)
