What's interesting about that play is that Matthews was saying "watch the wheel route" to the safety on the other side that was tasked with stopped McCaffrey. Typically if you are trying to stop a wheel you are going to kind of sell out to get outside because you want to choke off the angle and squeeze it into the boundary. The thing is though, McCaffrey wasn't running a wheel, he was running an angle route. And angle routes absolutely ROAST defenders that sell out to get outside to the flat/boundary. Cam knew that if they were going to try to choke off an imaginary wheel route, then McCaffrey would likely be wide open on the angle route, and he was. Technically his man didn't cover him at all because there was a blown assignment, but honestly that was probably a touchdown either way.
You should do something on Baker Mayfield and how likely success will come to him in Cleveland. You should also incorporate College football analysis. I would love to hear your breakdown of Don Brown's Michigan defense and how Joe Moorhead was able to ignite the Penn State offense.
You are the only person I've heard that actually recognizes how much of a football iq Cam Newton has. The man grew up studying Brady and during the era where Peyton Manning really popularized being a pre snap savant
14:24 I am relieved someone finally noticed Cam Newton's pre-snap and play recognition abilities. It's something I've noticed since 2014, and it's honestly his biggest strength as a passer. Thank you.
Chad Grant exactly. The media also refuses to watch film like Brett does and can see that although Newton has his flaws the OC was a huge part of what handicaps Cam.
And Cam is sick with his hard counts too! I remember a couple years ago he mad the skins line jump 3 plays in a row on one series and drew several more the whole game. Not once did the commentators acknowledge what Cam was doing with the count, they just attributed to the Skins d-line being jumpy. Like professional d-lines jump off sides back to plays ALL THE TIME lol. Like u said, Let him play Norv!!!
Omg I am so happy that you did this. I nearly freaked out when I saw this pop up in my subs. A few vids ago I recommended that you should do one of these scheme analysis again and now youre doing it on my fav team. And 22 minutes... holy shit Im in for a treat. Thank you! :)
I just want to say that I appreciate what you do. You obviously have a good deal of knowledge of football and its terminology. It never seems like you don't know what you're talking about. It's evident that you do research on every team that you talk about unlike a lot of other "analysts" who, at most, probably just glance at the overall stats and rankings. I really appreciate that. Now, I know that you definitely get requests to do videos on each and every team. Well... here's another one. I was wondering if you could do one on the Bucs. It would be easy to ask about how all the off-season acquisitions we made could help the team. But I'd like to ask if you could do one on the Bucs' linebackers. I sincerely do believe that we have one of the best LB cores in the league, but the defense as a whole performed terribly, and our LBs just get over-looked. We have Kendell Beckwith, who performed well above expectations as a rookie. We have Kwon Alexander, who was just deservedly selected to his first Pro Bowl. And we have the perennially under-rated Lavonte David, who has been one of the few bright spots on the team since he was drafted.
Axilrhon A look at Koetter's red zone offense would be a good video idea as well. Tampa was pretty successful outside the red zone, boasting the 4th best passing offense in terms of yards, but they were extremely mediocre in terms of scoring offense. THANK YOU!! I'm a Falcons fan and see the same thing when we play Carolina. Whenever he gets the keys, Cam is money (outside of some accuracy inconsistencies. A lot of times due to a lack of protection or receivers getting open). That kid they drafted (I think from Maryland) is going to help put Cam back in the MVP conversation once he gets his bearings and figures out how to get consistent separation. Add him to mccaffery, Samuel, then you have Olsen, and Funchess as big 3rd down/red zone threats, and this offense can be a lil scary. Assuming of course Turner makes these adjustments. If so, I think future shootouts between him and Matt Ryan (and I guess him and Brees) will be really interesting.
As a franchise-long fan of the Panthers, the entire problem of the Panther's running game is summed up in 2 simple problems. 1) O-line SUCKS and is NEVER properly addressed as far as draft picks and free agency. Some reason or another, the concept that the O-line will just "fall in place" by a piece-meal approach has NEVER materialized. Good to great individual players, but the O-line NEVER solidified due to health issues over years, or too many rookies never allowed to fully develop in their positions. 2) Too much reliance on Cam's scrambling/running as "game-plans". This draws more "rush defense" response than "pass defense". When it is 1st and 10, you obviously have an almost entirely 100% history of "run plays", the dense KNOWS this and prepares for RB or QB rushing. Look over the film again....Watch the 1st and 10 plays..... See how many times the Panthers run for 2-3 yards RIGHT INTO A RUSH DEFENSE!
This was a really great video. I hope you make a video like this reviewing how they choked the season away and how Newton’s injury affected the team and CMCs decelopment
Brett just ended Shula, Panthers fans will be very happy about this. You're completely right in every way, and I hope Norv makes the changes. Great vid!
This was really interesting and enjoyable to watch. The analysis was well thought out but explained in a way that most fans can understand. Wow, this was really good! Also props for identifying that Cam is a smart football player.
Fantastic analysis. Spot on. You should have touched on the effect of the KB trade - our rush game improved markedly after that since defenses couldn't load up the box.
LOVE THIS!!!!! As a frustrated Panther fan I've been wanting to see if other people were seeing what I saw from an x's and o's point of view. Thank you for making this and I hope Norv Turner can help out this ground game. I got tired of watching Mike Shula throwing darts at his play sheet to make calls. So damn frustrating......
Nicely done!! I'm a huge McCaffrey fan and want to see him UNLEASHED in 2018! Thanks for setting me straight on Cam, I was excoriating him last year rathe than the REAL culprit, Shula!
WTF U talking about?? Cam Newton is an amazing QB. U probably think Andrew Luck is the best thing since sliced bread, despite being a "Carolina Nerd." Cam's "flaws" lie solely on Management, Ownership, and Coaching. Shula was horrible, Norv's there now, but they not only DIDN'T address the OLine yet again, they let Norwell walk...but it's all Cam's fault for running Shula's Read Option, play action, and deep bomb Offense despite not having the OLine, and WR weaponry to do so. It's also Cam's fault for taking Christian McCaffery in the Top 10 instead of addressing OLine last year. You're a clown, dude...but yeah, it's Cam's fault for all this shit. Idiot.
You're comparing the "sacred white position" to WR and RB. The whole reason that even to this day you rarely see Black QB's is because they're always deemed "not smart enough" to be QB's. So you now have someone that's already shattering records for a QB, and has already got up on Steve Young's records for dual-threat QB records, and it can't be handled by the racist white folks. You're also talking to a life-long Carolina Panthers fan, man. I've heard 1st hand how he's "too stupid," the "N-word" and all that bullshit by "lifelong fans" myself. You can be anything other than QB if you're Black in MANY fans heart and minds, all around the NFL, High School, College, etc. Same reason HOF QB Warren Moon wasn't taken in the NFL Draft and had to go to Canada for several years. Racism, man. It's always that.
Not when applied to Black QB's, kneeling for Black issues, police brutality, etc. You're over here acting like you said you don't like the color black, and I called you a racist. I'm pointing out facts pertaining to exactly what the bullshit "issues" are with Cam and the fan base. You yourself said it's "easy to see why people don't like him." You might want to check your own reasons. You can line up Brady, Rodgers, Rich Gannon, or any plethora of white QB's that SCREAM, BITCH, MOAN, POUT to Refs, HC's, OC's, etc., and they're touted as "firery competitors!," yet any Black QB or athlete does the same, and they're "showing off, poor sports, idiots, N-words, assholes, Thugs, etc., etc." Wake up, dude.
Like I said, you just proved my point. If you served and upheld your oath to the Constitution, you wouldn't be "pissed about multi-million dollar athletes squatting" over forced Patriotism (Nationalism). What you should be pissed about however, is the NFL, MLB, NHL, and MLB making nothing but profits off of the National Anthem and your all too precious colorful piece of cloth. You do realize that the U.S. Gov't pays for that National Anthem and it being shoved down your throat, right? Of course you didn't. You're a dumb shit, Chris L. Had you truly served, you'd have realized that you were nothing but a mere pawn used to steal resources from poor Countries around the world in the name of "Freedom (Capitalism for the U.S.A.)." And yes, take a look at mugshots of the several white school/church/movie theater shooters who didn't even have a mark on them compared to those Black folks that get pulled over for speeding and end up having their faces beaten in, shot, and/or murdered "just because." But hey, feel free to respond - you win, buddy! I won't reply to your nonsense. P.S. Not every athlete is a "multimillionaire" just because you and every idiot thinks it's so.
I don't understand teams that don't let their QB make major changes at the line. If you're putting a leash on your QB and not letting them change routes, blocking, etc based on what the defense is doing, you're only going to hurt your team. Unless you have a major talent advantage.
Thank you so much for this video! Panthers are my favorite team and I was bummed to see them only go to the first round of the playoffs with all the talent they have.
Is there any way we can make Norv and Ron watch this? Please... Amazing content sir... Much respect... I was calling for Shula's head since 14' yes even at 15-1 and finally someone else knows why.
I'm so glad that you made this video!! CMC is my favorite player not named Tom Brady and I was continuously frustrated by how they used him last season. I know he's talented but I am just PRAYING that Norv uses him correctly. Still using a high pick on him in fantasy lol
Watched this video 5 times. Extremely informative and you did a great job finding film clips. I agree with everything you uncovered. Hopefully, Norv either watched this video and is follows your advice or he has noticed what you have and already adjusted it.
great video btw, i just found ur channel and it looks amazing. I just wanted to list a few points. All in all, everything you said was correct and I agree with it (i’m a panthers fan). The addition of torrey smith and jarius wright sets up many 3rd down slot plays or crossing sideline routes. I think norv turner has seen a lot of wright from MIN and he will be a big 3rd down wr. The weapon a lot of people forget about is curtis samuel. He is really quick and elusive, has great release from the line and can create separation. I think norv turner will see him at practice and realize his potential and use him more in the deep ball game or in just quick slant routes. I love your channel and I hope you continue being amazing because Cam does so much at the line and you realize it. Thank you.
I know people are shitting on Norv in the comments, but just about anyone could be a better O coordinator than Shula. Shula's inconsistency was frustrating, not using players correctly, not calling plays in time, he was hot garbage last year and the year before. I'm glad that he was finally fired, he should have been fired after the 6-10 season. My only advice for Norv is let Cam be Cam, bad things happen when you try to cage him. I'm of the opinion that Cam is the best when the players around him are consistent, they don't have to be superstars just consistent. Like Ted Ginn Jr, he didn't have the best hands but he can stretch the defense down the field. Or Greg Olsen, there is a reason he had 3 1000 yrd seasons in a row, he could get open and catch the ball.
Brett would just like to say in case you see this comment that the vids you make are top tier and amazing. People like me crave football and you teach us things we otherwise would never have the chance to learn. Thank you for that. On a more personal note i now realize how much i underestimated cam newton's football IQ and just saw him as a guy who's fast and has a big arm. Reading throught the comments ive seen how great a fanbase you got here and they have some great ideas. My personal one would be a video just kinda ranking the top players at each position and i saw someone else said it too. Another was about the bucs linebackers that seemed interesting as well. Since im a steelers fan ive already got 3 videos and im not gonna ask for more of your time on them since there are so many other teams and players that deserve your attention. So keep up the good work and good luck!
The panthers are full of potential, but like you said, the coaching staff has not been the most reliable in terms of letting Cam do what he wants. Yes we've got talent on both sides of the ball, but none of that means anything if we don't have the right people calling the shots. Also, thank you for highlighting McCaffrey's issue with the offensive line play. You'd think that any average panther fan watching games as they happen could tell you there should be more than 1-2 yards per carry, but even NFL analysts seem to think it's all 22's fault.
Carolina Nerd thanks for that but from my experience as a saints fan playing 3 times this year they’ve looked great but even against other team they have looked great they upgraded a already good defense got good WRs which they really need and I think cam will come back to normal and people forget if the panthers didn’t choke the last game the falcons wouldn’t have made the playoffs and the rams team they played a inexperienced playoff team and it showed the rams would crushed them if they had more experienced and the eagles game that was a eagles team still trying to work with Foles you see it was perfected against the Vikings and you know the falcons would be killed by the Vikings freeman has not been the same since the injury and jones is a being a problem Matt has had the pieces for years yet still can’t get it done and the defense is to inconsistent sorry 9-7 8-8 7-9
Dud this is amazing can you teach me how to read plays like you im going in to high school next year and I wanna you to teach me how please and if you don't have time it's okay
im a chargers fan I can guarantee you he is shit when trying to coach running backs even when he had LT he could never utilize him, he'd be an ok qb coach but that is about it
I see C Mc as a scat back/ receiving back. With his lateral quickness, agility, sharp change of direction he'll become one of the best receiving RB in the league which will around help transition the Panthers offense from a Read Option/ PA Vert style to more of a West Coast/Read Option style offensive game plan.
Definitely another great video! Glad you got to talk about my favorite team, and brought to light the cerebral nature of Cam. Keep up the great work! Love your work man!
Great video Brett! I don't think Cam gets enough credit on how he can scan the field and pick apart defenses when given total control. Question for you: If you're a defense, what's the adjustment to make on trap/wham plays when blockers get in the way? Not sure if that's an easy answer, but thought I'd ask how you'd counter that.
Hey man love the channel, love the way you breakthings down it really feels like I lean something from any video of your that I watch even if its not a team or player I'm necessarily interested in I will still enjoy the video. Keep up the good work
CJ Anderson with a good QB can do some very good things for an offense. He and Christian on the field together can open things up. CJ can cath out of the backfield as well, he is just a hard worker.
The addition of Torrey Smith should really help as well. He's an excellent deep ball receiver. He will be able to spread the field and give McCaffrey even more short and intermediate ground to work with, because you have to keep at least 1 deep safety with a guy like Smith in there.
Brett kollman is the man. I can him carving a niche out for himself as a consultant for nfl teams. This has to be my favorite TH-cam channel hands down
I love this. You've pretty much said what I have been saying for years. Mike Shula is an average at best OC that has been holding Cam back for years. I'm excited to see what this season holds for the Panthers under Norv Turner
Christian McCaffery has gained 5 extra pounds of muscle during the off-season in April, during the season, when it starts, he might be roughly about 214 lbs.
I think you’re spot on. Also, I think the evolution here could be great for McCaffrey. As linebackers continue becoming more agile coverage defenders, McCaffrey will get better traditional rushing numbers.
I do not think that this is a good fit for a couple of reason. I think Norv's approach is the exact opposite of creative. It's really pretty predictable and heavily reliant on beast personnel in the trenches, and downfield studs for all of the shots he likes to take downfield of PA and straight drop.. Power with a line like this, is going to be ugly. The one linemen who would fit the profile for the kind of running game that he likes is gone. Unless he undergoes a bit of a makeover, I don't have a lot of confidence that this is a good match. If anything I think they will need to be reliant on Cam's legs once again
ny_kia31 agreed, as a vikings fan i was indifferent on norv. He had a track record of getting a lot out of his RB’s and when we had AP it fit pretty well since teams would stack the box allowing us to go deep (even tho we couldn’t quite execute with our receivers at the time) imagine what sean payton or shanahan could do with the panthers personnel
at 5:47 you show McCapffrey's YPC run splits based on which position on the line he was following. I have 2 questions about this. 1. Where did you find this stat? 2. Is this based on play call or execution? If he's supposed to run to the LT but he's beat and he makes a cut back to the other side of the line and improvises an outside run to the right or something do those yards count as running behind that LT block or someone on the right side who clearly seals the end for him? Or would they not be counted at all? You're the absolute best football channel on TH-cam dude, I appreciate your work so much. Thank you for uploading consistently great videos you are by far my favorite channel.
Hi Brett. I'm a recent convert to the NFL, having only started paying attention in 2008 and coming from a country that favours soccer. I enjoy watching the NFL, but struggle to understand the chess game that seems to occur in the trenches. I really appreciate you breaking it down in much more depth than most other analysts I've seen. Thank you for your great videos. All the best, J
LoveNeverFail I thought that as well. I think Shula/Dorsey knew they were on their way out. But it's hard to aurge an 11-6 season with 3 of those loses were against the Saints - and the "wtf game" vs Chicago. Turnovers killed us against Philly. Cam audibled a lot of those plays. Let's just hope Norv gets a hold of this video, now that we just lost our starting RT.
Beautiful combination of statistical analysis and film grinding. I often use your insight from a film grinders perspective along with Matt Kelley's statistical analysis perspective and formulate my fantasy football moves from there.
Omg thank you!!! You just said what I have been saying as a panther fan for the last 4-5 years but with the film to back it up. Cam is waaaay underrated as a field general because they always focus on his athletic ability. And yes when he is allowed to call his own plays or when he is in no huddle, he is almost unstoppable but Shula would only use it situationally. And as far as the running game goes, to compound what you illustrated Shula was soooo predictable with the run calls I could sit on the couch and call what was coming. Cam should’ve got MVP this year more so than the the super bowl run just for getting that offense to the playoffs. And McCaffery could’ve been just as good as Kamara was for Saints if he had Sean Payton instead of Shula
Shula and Rivera should NEVER have allowed their read option system to have lasted this long. It only should have allowed Cam to transition from the read option to a more pro style offense. They fell in love with it too much and too long. It was not sustainable with a QB leading the team in rushing.
The Panthers needed that offensive line again. I've been saying this since 2013. 2015. They had a line but couldn't beat Denver's defensive at superbowl. They just need that same line again.
Great video! If you're looking for ideas, I'd love a video on the LOB. Now that Kam Chancellor "retired," the LOB era is kind of over. It'd be great if you could show what made them so dominant, now Kam, Earl, and Sherman worked together, and who nowadays is best equipped to emulate them.
Cant be covered one on one McCaffrey, curtis samual, dymire Byrd, and Greg Olsen and Torrey smith And now possession catchers Devin funchess, dj moore and Greg (again) KEEEEEPPP POOOOUUUUNDDINGGG
when I read the title of this video I had my doubts about watching. Was definitely sensing some hater-ade. But after watching it I feel completely the opposite. EVERYTHING he said made complete sense. This video was so well done and the suggestions on point. Thanks @Brett Kollmann I thoroughly enjoyed it and cant WAIT til the season starts. #KeepPounding
"You been watchin film huh? That's cool, watch this."
What's interesting about that play is that Matthews was saying "watch the wheel route" to the safety on the other side that was tasked with stopped McCaffrey.

Brett Kollman is better than your favorite NFL analysts
but what if he is my favorite NFL analyst...
I'm better than...me? Or am I worse than me?
Somehow both and I'm not sure if it is good or bad thing haha
nasir casso Brett Kollman >=< Brett Kollman confirmed
Correction. Brett Kollman is your favorite NFL analyst. If he isn't you enjoy fake news
You are the only person I've heard that actually recognizes how much of a football iq Cam Newton has. The man grew up studying Brady and during the era where Peyton Manning really popularized being a pre snap savant
Teezy Jetson id be surprised if Cam Newton could read
Who helped u write that sentence
Teezy Jetson yes LAWD ✋
Andre Bass your QB is short an weak
Andre Bass sociology degree. You???
14:24 I am relieved someone finally noticed Cam Newton's pre-snap and play recognition abilities. It's something I've noticed since 2014, and it's honestly his biggest strength as a passer.
Thank you.
Thank you for analyzing the panthers. The media refuses to do so. Thanks again.
Chad Grant exactly. The media also refuses to watch film like Brett does and can see that although Newton has his flaws the OC was a huge part of what handicaps Cam.
Unnecessary Bluntness Sports Talk I agree completely.
the media has no idea what they are talking about when they do cover the panthers ugh! (eyeroll)

THANK YOU BUT LET THE LORD AND SAVIOR LUCK WOULDA DID THAT SHIT OR THE NEW GOLDEN BOYS WENTZ OR JIMMY G
Cam will be MVP this year. He said Norv is his boy!! Cam is just starting I promise! He will start with his first SuperBowl this year!
Another masterpiece
Never Fails. Brett Kollmann should be head coach for New York Giants right now!
John Richardson Lmao lmao. You a NYG fan?
Wow I clearly need to watch more Cam Newton tape, he clearly has much better pre and post snap awareness than I gave him credit for.
STOP LISTENING TO ANYTHING ON TV ABOUT CAM
the panthers have always lacked WRs and Oline since cam has been there and he still puts up good numbers.
Cams best Reciever during his mvp season was Ted Gin 😂😂😂😂. Dudes always been special
Omg I am so happy that you did this. I nearly freaked out when I saw this pop up in my subs. A few vids ago I recommended that you should do one of these scheme analysis again and now youre doing it on my fav team. And 22 minutes... holy shit Im in for a treat. Thank you! :)

I like the Bucs LBs a lot. It's about time they finally have a DL that's worth a damn ahead of them now too.

Oh man, Norv Turner is going to have his hands full since it's an even year for the Panthers...

The Carolina Panthers and being inconsistent, name a more iconic duo...
Patriots & AFC Championship Game appearances. Name the last time it hasn't happened.
TheNightOwl11683 2011 I think with Big Ben vs Butt Fumble
Patriots lost to the Buttfumble era New York Jets and prevented a New England AFC Championship Game appearance.
"Cam Newton is at his best when he is allowed to play like Tom Brady." Well, that's funny.

Samuel Murphy very detailed
Finally a video on my panthers...im glad shula is gone..he will be the giants burden now..i feel bad for saquon barkley.
BigSpence20 Pat Shurmur will be calling plays.
That dont mean shula wont find a way to mess stuff up lol
Don't trash a legends son
Why not..shula is trash..don kept all the greatness to himself.
Nicely done!! I'm a huge McCaffrey fan and want to see him UNLEASHED in 2018! Thanks for setting me straight on Cam, I was excoriating him last year rathe than the REAL culprit, Shula!
I'm rooting for the Panthers to win the NFC South!!! I love Cam and I don't understand the hate for this man!!!
It's called idiots and Racism, bro. Love the Panthers and Cam!!
WTF U talking about?? Cam Newton is an amazing QB. U probably think Andrew Luck is the best thing since sliced bread, despite being a "Carolina Nerd."

You can line up Brady, Rodgers, Rich Gannon, or any plethora of white QB's that SCREAM, BITCH, MOAN, POUT to Refs, HC's, OC's, etc., and they're touted as "firery competitors!," yet any Black QB or athlete does the same, and they're "showing off, poor sports, idiots, N-words, assholes, Thugs, etc., etc."
Wake up, dude.
Had you truly served, you'd have realized that you were nothing but a mere pawn used to steal resources from poor Countries around the world in the name of "Freedom (Capitalism for the U.S.A.)."
And yes, take a look at mugshots of the several white school/church/movie theater shooters who didn't even have a mark on them compared to those Black folks that get pulled over for speeding and end up having their faces beaten in, shot, and/or murdered "just because."
But hey, feel free to respond - you win, buddy!
Thank you.
Great video. I was actually wondering why was the run game so bad. It was Cam or nothing.
This is simply amazing thank you sm for making a video on the panthers, would you consider doing a Luke Kuechly one in the future?
Cam will deliver he's done nothing but deliver outside the super bowl lol but I hope are line will just be above average in one area
If I was an NFL manager, I would watch your videos every week to take your view into account. Keep it rolling Brett man.
Thank you for the support! I've definitely thought about doing some ranking-centric videos in the future
I had been waiting so long just to see something about a panthers player, but you’ve done a video of the whole offense! Thanks dude! This is awesome!
The production value of your videos are off the charts man!
Who's watching after Cam went to the Patriots?
As a saints fan the panthers have some of the worst run plays each year. But they literally have all the talent for it to be good smh
Sarcasm_ the saints and the panthers are the 2 best teams in the nfc south
CrazyRich 2 I agree Panthers lost their #1 WR in Benjamin mid season and had all bums. And still went 11-5 that’s wild
BECAUSE Cam the GOAT the but until he win some bowls ya'll ain't gone give it to him
Dud this is amazing can you teach me how to read plays like you im going in to high school next year and I wanna you to teach me how please and if you don't have time it's okay
Norv Turner was not a goood OC in Minnesota, I don't see him doing well in Carolina.
Mr. Gentlezombie different situation , hopefully he will be good with us
Wow as a panther fan seeing Viking fans talk down on him and seeing this video I lost confidence for next season welp 3-13
im a chargers fan I can guarantee you he is shit when trying to coach running backs even when he had LT he could never utilize him, he'd be an ok qb coach but that is about it
Mr. Gentlezombie meh
We'll let him go if it doesn't work out
Myke Ford I was confused why they picked him up 😕
I see C Mc as a scat back/ receiving back.
I am a simple man. I see Brett Kollmann upload. I click.
Jack Ke please retire this comment from your repertoire .
lol
Waiting for your next upload is like a severe constipation case but when it's out I feel joy and happiness
CMC probably running to the right side more this year Daryl Williams is a beast
The addition of Torrey Smith should really help as well. He's an excellent deep ball receiver. He will be able to spread the field and give McCaffrey even more short and intermediate ground to work with, because you have to keep at least 1 deep safety with a guy like Smith in there.
Correct, funny how our offense worked so much better when we had Ted Ginn out there even if he dropped every 3rd pass
If Tedd Ginn was blessed with hands he might have been the Goat lol
brett , as far as im concerned your the best football analyst on youtube. i would love a video on the chicago bears offense this upcoming season.
Brett kollman is the man. I can him carving a niche out for himself as a consultant for nfl teams. This has to be my favorite TH-cam channel hands down
I would really like to see you do a vid with how Grudens offense will work or may not work with Derek Carr and the Raiders
Chev Chelios GRUDEN wants to throw the game back to 1998 .. It should be interesting I can guarantee that part. ..
I love this. You've pretty much said what I have been saying for years. Mike Shula is an average at best OC that has been holding Cam back for years. I'm excited to see what this season holds for the Panthers under Norv Turner
I appreciate these uploads. Can’t wait for the season
Christian McCaffery has gained 5 extra pounds of muscle during the off-season in April, during the season, when it starts, he might be roughly about 214 lbs.
Jacob Joyner more like 210 lbs
love these videos . As a football fan who never played , these are so interesting and informative . great job
I think you’re spot on. Also, I think the evolution here could be great for McCaffrey. As linebackers continue becoming more agile coverage defenders, McCaffrey will get better traditional rushing numbers.
These are so in-depth!! Please do an analysis on the Raiders last season
The quality and insight in these videos is amazing
I do not think that this is a good fit for a couple of reason. I think Norv's approach is the exact opposite of creative. It's really pretty predictable and heavily reliant on beast personnel in the trenches, and downfield studs for all of the shots he likes to take downfield of PA and straight drop.. Power with a line like this, is going to be ugly. The one linemen who would fit the profile for the kind of running game that he likes is gone. Unless he undergoes a bit of a makeover, I don't have a lot of confidence that this is a good match. If anything I think they will need to be reliant on Cam's legs once again
I used to watch your spread and RNS videos earlier in the madden years
yay!
Norv is a 90s Cowboys guy, his offense needs to have multiple hall of famers to work. Jason Garrett is running the same idiotic offense today.
ny_kia31 agreed, as a vikings fan i was indifferent on norv. He had a track record of getting a lot out of his RB’s and when we had AP it fit pretty well since teams would stack the box allowing us to go deep (even tho we couldn’t quite execute with our receivers at the time) imagine what sean payton or shanahan could do with the panthers personnel
Kia you the man
Brett Kollmann! I caught you on the sleeper wire podcast the other day! Keep up the outstanding work...appreciate ya!
Great bit of editing there at 20:21 as the player falls backwards into the endzone and the music crescendos.
That's great stuff Brett, it's great to have these videos to look forward to.
Anyone else here after he signed with the Pats?
at 5:47 you show McCapffrey's YPC run splits based on which position on the line he was following.
Thank you for watching!
Tell me again, why you're not on the Panthers coaching staff🤔
UncleRel I'm starting to think the play calling is rigged.
UncleRel 💯❤
I absolutely love the longer episodes thanks Brett
Beautiful combination of statistical analysis and film grinding. I often use your insight from a film grinders perspective along with Matt Kelley's statistical analysis perspective and formulate my fantasy football moves from there.
Summary: Shula had no idea what he was doing with his play calling. This is why Panthers fans were calling for his firing for years.
Brett *uploads new video* me *cancels plans*
Can you update this video with the 2018-2019 season?!
Thanks for making this analysis! I enjoyed the in-depth breakdown of our offense! Great job!
No such thing as to long for your videos man. They're excellent
Brett: Can Norv Turner fix the offense?
Narrator: *He did not fix the offense*
every time you make a video, i am in awe. you are so with it.
Your are a genius. You should do more forecast for all 32 teams. People will pay for this bro. Excellent incite!
The Panthers needed that offensive line again. I've been saying this since 2013. 2015. They had a line but couldn't beat Denver's defensive at superbowl. They just need that same line again.
My only concern of mine is his back foot throws but cams my guy
Magnificent channel. You are the best at what you do.
Never was a fan of Shula at all to be honest. Your videos are getting better, setup, delivery, etc. Its good stuff
Amazing video, I've been eagerly waiting for a Panthers breakdown for a very very longtime!
Bro i love your videos, great in depth look at the game. Keep it up
my goodness, your film breakdowns are awesome.
Love your analysis Brett! I come to your channel for intelligent football commentary.
Do a Cardinals vid! Plenty to look at with David Johnson, Wilkes’ defense and Rosen/Bradford dynamic
make one on tj watt
somebody had to dig deep for the ancient 49ers tape lol great vid brett thanks
First video I've ever seen of yours and you just earned a subscriber.
Brett, your videos and analysis are always on point. Your videos are what gets me through the off season. Thanks Brett!!!
Cant be covered one on one
McCaffrey, curtis samual, dymire Byrd, and Greg Olsen and Torrey smith
And now possession catchers
Devin funchess, dj moore and Greg (again)
KEEEEEPPP POOOOUUUUNDDINGGG
when I read the title of this video I had my doubts about watching.
Better than any NFL analysis
What about coaching Brett? Wouldn't that be an option for you?
