As a kid growing up in England in the 80's, I saw Maradonna as the arch nemesis after that goal.
In the days after he died, I was watching the news about his passing and I had tears in my eyes, it was then that I realised watching him was a gift.
People on the TV ask "who was the greatest", well now I'm older and hopefully a little wiser I can tell you that Pele was the original and that Messi and Ronaldo are the greatest of the modern era. However, the will only ever be one Diego. Hero and Legend, I salute you 🙏
When I saw maradona the first time it was in Mexico 86, he was magic, no one seem a player like him before, and every single kid wants to be like him, because he represente the utopic player who play alone most of time, he dribling 1, 2, 3 and even all the team to match, in latinoamerica we reconigse to this crazys movements like "gambeta", "globito", "caño", "bicicleta", "finta" etc, an there are some of then imposibles to reply now (bicicleta, glotito), great maradona you are the leyend will never die

I grew up in the 80s as well. Used to watch so much football in my country, Viet Nam . We had to stay up all night to watch Football In Europe because of the time zone differences but we all loved it!!! He is the greatest in my opinion.

You are absolutely correct! I used to watch football in the 80s and early 90s from my country Viet Nam .there are so many great players but Maradona was simply the best of all and one of a kind!!!
