Hey everyone! We got so lucky in Wyoming with all this snow, I hope you enjoy the video!!! Give us a follow on Instagram if you haven't already to stay up to date in real time! instagram.com/mathersonthemap/
Omgosh yes!! You and your family/friends were lovely!! Thank you so much for keeping me company and sharing some local knowledge with me, I really appreciated it!!! Hope all is well!!
@@MathersOnTheMap All good here. We’re the couple that lives in Jackson so if you ever get back this way get in touch and you have a place to stay! I regretted not asking how I could find your videos so I’ve been searching van life videos ever since and just found this today. Visibility on the mountain would be much better today!
Aww I’m so glad you found us!! Thank you so much we really appreciate it, if we are ever back it Jackson we will definitely reach out!!! Great hearing from you!
You guys didn't get waffles at the top of the tram at Jackson? I thought that was going to be the highlight of your video!! We didn't get that much snow out of that storm in Tahoe, you're so lucky!! On foggy days ski the tree line they cast a shadow that'll help you see better. Jackson Hole is definitely one of my favorite ski resorts, if you make it to Tahoe Squaw Valley will blow you away, it's amazing and beautiful!! Nothing like it!! No friends on a Powder Day!! Yesterday was Day 101 skiing this season, trying to hit 125!! I so wanted a Sprinter but I had to have AWD in Tahoe, my AWD Ford Transit is a beast in the snow!! It's better than my Subaru and Toyota Highlander!! You're definitely getting better snowboarding, great video!!
That scene kind of reminds me of back when we were skiing Arapahoe Basin CO. We got off the lift at the very top and found ourselves in a “whiteout”. We just about had to spit to determine which way was down.
That looked like a lot of fun, it has put snowboarding on my list of things to do. Looks like the chains and diesel heater did their jobs. Nice job on the editing and recording 👍
Interesting have been thinking of building a van and moving to maybe targhee for the winter. how did all your solar system there work with that weather? heard it gets foggy and windy there.
You have found an amazing storm cycle! Skiing the POW! If the visibility is poor on the slopes, if possible ski near the sides of the trail near the trees. It helps with the depth perception. I patrolled 15 years in the west and found it really helps with visibility. I’m liking those snow tire chains. What make? Be safe!
Wow, Soo cool to see all the snow and watching you both board. Do the skiers and boarders have their own runs? Can't figure out how you film yourself Kevin. Not techy here. I had to backup and watch again the guy flying off the rock. I rarely skied powder (WA state has heavier snow mostly) and I may have one more time in me to do it...I liked Jackson Hole view.
Awesome! I just got back from my first trip to JHSR this March, and it was epic! I got into town the day of a big Friday storm, but got to enjoy the rewards of that storm over the weekend and into the next week. Saw a lot of camper vans parked in the Ranch lots and Stilson lots, was wondering if I'd see a YT video by someone at some point :-)
Hi there,! Jackson Hole is on my must visit list. I'm from Brazil (no snow here) but I ski in Argentina and Chile. Never that much snow. I'm converting my Sprinter Van and I wish you could clarify one thing for me. Do the Solar Panels generate any power on this snowy condition? Does the bright white of the snow "acts" like a luminosity the panels can use to generate power? And, amazing tires you got ....
Jackson hole is sweet! Recommend it! Solar works in winter for sure but you have to clear the panels obviously. On a cloudy day it’s not nearly as strong but still better than dark!
The powder looked awesome-what a workout! May I ask what size tires you decided on and what brand & model of “chains?” I’ll check your site. Also want to know what you used on the lower rockers and how it’s holding up. Also, if your van was 4wd do you think you’d use the chains? Not sure if any of your viewers has a 4x4 sprinter with snow experience to comment? Asking because I avoided the snow this year in mine.
265/75/16, got chains from tirechainsonline.com not sure the brand I think I’m commented them somewhere! No 4wd but with Ko2’s and chains I’m very comfortable. I think it’s a good setup if you don’t have the cash for a 4wd (we did not!) Thanks for watching!
@@MathersOnTheMap you can pick up a block heater fairly inexpensive and with the inverter you have you would be able to warm the oil before you start it when I lived in Gunnison Colorado it was standard on all vehicles even gas the city is known for the coldest spot in the nation
Great vid! Is your rig 4x4? Do you think you would have made it out without chains? Also what brand are those chains? I’m trying to decide if i need them for this/next winter?!?
You're not the only TH-camrs there. Off the ranch just posted their video that they were there. That'd be a great channel to collaborate with to get a huge following. They helped another channel go from 0 subs to over 120k in 7 days
I hope you can respond to my comment. I’m getting ready to buy a sprinter for retirement and build it myself. I’ll be going most of the places y’all have went this winter. Do you ever wish you had got a 170 4x4 instead? I’m trying to decide which to get . I really enjoy your videos. Thanks
Yes they do get expensive. I just didn’t want to regret not getting one later. I’ve been looking at the transits also but the quality of the sprinter is so much better. Thanks for responding
Wish I could like it twice or more!! It felt like I was there with you --- all that snow, CRAZY! Saw that truck with a pop-up camper with the top up across from you - that's gotta be nuts... Guess you can't get much ventilation from the roof vent when it's encased in snow? Glad no pipes froze. BTW, check out this doughnut test I came across the other day - th-cam.com/video/NHqZ9N-XIkk/w-d-xo.html -- think you'll love it!!
I was up there last summer on the tram and couldn’t believe the drop offs on the ski trails. Make sure you have a waffle at Corbett’s Cabin Top of the World Waffle House. You guys are braver than I am. Another great video!
Truth be told, after moving from Jersey 32 yrs ago and only living in warm climates, your ski trip isn't as fun for me as your Florida adventures... just saying.🤗

Amazing video. I've watched around 5 today.
That guy demonstrates monk levels of patience.
Haha thanks Dav!
Don't be too hasty to clean off the snow if you're not driving, snow is an insulator!
True that, we’ll keep that in mind!
Taylor, I think we kept you company around the fire pit at the base of Jackson. Safe travels!

I have been to Jackson Hole and it is AMAZING! VERY STEEP! Watching this made me want to go back to visit. Thanks for this video it was AWESOME ⛷
Thank you James! I want to go back after watching it too, so fun!
I live your videos no matter what day of the week 💕
Aww thank you we appreciate it soo much!
Holy cow, had to put my thermals on just to finish watching this, to be young again...Thanks for sharing!

Nope I didn't even know about it. 125 days is insane!!!!! We're down in Baja now AWD would be nice for this sand!

Well you named this episode perfectly. We didn't even get that much up here in Canada! You two are fun to watch :)
Thank you!!! It was soo much snow, more than we have ever seen!
Look at the POW😍

Lucky!!! what a pow day dude good stuff

We got ours from tirechainsonline.com Diagonal Cable Tire Chain - Part no. 747C
@@MathersOnTheMap Thank you! Looking forward to more videos
I can't believe you made it out of there with only 2wd! I'm currently waiting for a 4x4 Revel, but after seeing this, who needs 4x4? lol
With a good set of all terrains and chains I don’t think ya really need 4x4 unless you’re trying to get really aggressive
We’ll see you every Tuesday? It’s Friday in Las Vegas 🤣
Hahaha sometimes there’s a bonus!!!

How do you keep your tanks from freezing did you plumb heat in around them?

So you do not have a block heater. Is the deisel hard to start?
We haven’t had issues but didn’t attempt when it was -8° in west Yellowstone luckily it’s been relatively warm (for the diesel fuel filter)

No if we could do it over again we would ventilate the water area so more warm air could get there!
