    Heyyy guys, what a great documentary of an obviously amazing event overseas! Great performances and sportsmanship was shown - gret popcorn TV (not only!) for pilots. Thanks!

    What an incredible race, experience, and video! Us North American pilots are so lucky to have Gavin, Ben, and all the rad race organizers and videographers put this on and document it. You guys killed it!!
    My 3rd day, first into goal finish was a life highlight. Short but phenomenal 41km flight back from the southernmost turnpoint. Great training for the 2023 xalps!
    Can't wait to compete again next year!

    Amazing, what a nice scenery. What great athletes and sportsmen. What a great video with musik and images from the race. Great work for the organisation of such an event and sharing it with the world!

    Great film; well done Ben and all the contributors! Also to Gavin and the organising team too. Salute Aaron on a crushing performance. There was a nice simple scoring system.
    On reflection, were there any unintended, negative consequences to the system used?

    I 1st met Aaron over a decade ago in S Korea when he was a Gin Team pilot who came to win that competition too. He is an extraordinary pilot and a compassionate young man, risking his place in the competition to ensure a downed pilot is OK. That's the kind of guy he is, one you can't help but want to be around to learn from!

    Loved watching this recap! As a newer female pilot here in the US, I would have loved it even more if you’d interviewed even one of the women in the race. Like Lindsey Ripa-burns or Pamela Kinnard!

    Great video!
    I'm very happy to finally have made it to Monroe to enjoy the RedRocks Flyin. Aaron gave a great talk on his Pakistan adventures.
    Really happy to hear Ben Abruzzo mention Flow States, PG puts me into a flow-state more than any other activity. Congratulations to Ben for his very respectable finish, ahead of legends such as Patrick Von Kannell.

    Wait so the guy who came in first only made in first cause Aaron went off and helped a downed pilot and was only given a 30min allowance when he was in the lead and in the first 2 days came in way more than 30min both days ahead of the American yet the American athlete still managed to come joint first? Hmmmmm yeah I'm sure you can,compete with the Europeans lol only if it's an American organising the event and race board full of American. Talk about fudging the results lol

    • @Cloudbasecollective
      @Cloudbasecollective 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, that is not how it went down. James would have very likely made it in first regardless as he was in a much better position. We have track logs of everything and were able to calculate exactly how much time the diversion took. James won the day and was the only one who made goal (Aaron landed just short about 20 minutes after the land-by time), but given Aaron, Tanguy and Jared diverted and showed such great sportsmanship we gave them a 40 minute bonus and that gave Aaron a shared win, which we thought was fair and especially because it didn't affect the overall scoring for all three days at all. There was no "fudging", Aaron was the clean winner of the comp and that's what matters (and he's got the 5 grand to prove it!).
