Great to see the modern navy on display like this! Much different to the old HMAS Yarra(DE45). I’m showing my age now and didn’t serve on Yarra, but I did serve on HMAS Stuart(DE48). They were ASW focused. Different roles but MW and ASW are equally important, and complement each other in many circumstances.
A very interesting video, thanks for sharing. My sea time finished in 1972 (Melbourne, Vampire and Brisbane) and it seems to me things are a lot more sophisticated in modern warships. Keep safe you guys and gals. Keep up the good work.
I think it is "loo" in the RAN but "lef" in he RAAF and Australian Army which would have been done in line with British practice. It's like the Navy 'palm down' support versus the palm forward support of other military arms.

My grandfather, Duncan Stevenson, served on the HMAS Yarra (U77) and was one of the survivors after she was sank.
Love this. Thanks for keeping Australia safe.
Thanks for your service
Fine crew, Well done, Cheers

Bravo guys and Gals thank you all for your service 😁😉👍
I served 2 years on MHCs as the Swain 2010 & 2011. That was a good video, right up until the grunter saluted.

Great video, where would I be if I joined in 1983, who knows ?😅
'Lt Lee's' salute is NOT correct. I wonder if he's an actor?
Yawn.....
Still use old fashioned searchlight signalling - no high powered auto signalling lights?
Good Morning akke 👍💙
สวัสดี / ສບາຍດີ / hello from sisaket province thailand.
Interesting that he didn't use the British pronunciation of lieutenant.

“Lef” in Army only
Where are the guns?
duh...a gun was shown. It's not a battleship or a destroyer
3 and a half year on that POS! Good bunch of lads but the Navy is a shit job. Don’t care about their people, that’s why they’re leaving in droves.
@@highcountrydelatite initial service was 6 when I was in, champ.
@@highcountrydelatite hahaa you’re angry!! Good I’m glad.
