Thanks J for the video. I just replaced my cup holder this last weekend. I followed your video for accessing the front screw on the cup holder but removing the two back screws is a lot easier then what you show. You do not have to remove the plastic trim piece inside the center console storage compartment, if fact you can't because the two back screws that secure the cup holder also secure this trim piece. Once you remove the plastic trim piece around the cup holder (which you did remove but did not show how you did it) you can reach the two back Torx screws in the gap between the cup holder and the storage compartment with a T15 screw driver. You will have to work the T15 driver on an angle and you can push the plastic trim piece in the storage compartment back a little to give more access to the screws. It is kind of a pain but doable. A couple other tips. Magnetize your T15 drive by rubbing it with a strong magnet, then use it to draw out the screws from the gap. Also, I used Phillip head screws to install the new cup holder instead of the Torx screws because they are a lot easier to tighten inside the gap.

You are right dude, the gap is doable and I’m surprised that the frame is so solid that unlikely to bend it or break it. I like the Mercedes in the golden ages. Cheers

I’ve removed the back screws without removing the storage console frame successfully. The material is solid, thus no worries when inserting the T bar into the gap.
But I have a suggestion here, don’t tighten the back screws back after changing the cup holder. Just screw in the front .As these are not the safety parts and will be pressed down only. I just used the 3M double side tape instead of tighten the back screws back. It will save a lot of troubles when next time you try to change the cup holder again.
And I think the most tricky part is to install the arm rest. Took me approx. 1 hour to deal with that fancy mechanism.
Please accept my gratitude J, your video inspired me.
There’s lot of cheap hack, but I’m enjoying challenging in auto DIY.

Thanks for saving me time. I chose to just put the new cup holder portion in and keep the old base.

Thanks for shaking this video. The old one was broke off inside already so I removed it... The hard part now will be installing the new one. Im hoping I can install the back screws without removing everything
