  • The race to produce the next best battery technology has been heating up in recent years, as more and more companies are trying to tap into the growing demand for electric vehicles. However, not many of these companies have managed to get the attention of the US Department of Defense (DOD), which is always on the lookout for cutting-edge innovations that can enhance its capabilities. That is, until Lyten came along. Lyten’s new battery technology is so fascinating that the US government has pledged to invest a massive amount of money to bring it to the mainstream.
So, what’s so special about this battery? And what does this mean for the EV industry?

Anything that can reduce material costs by that much and increase energy density by that amount, definitely is revolutionary. And the weight savings are a definite improvement, but 3D grafene sounds very expensive to produce and sounds like a brittle material.

The best thing you could do for Car batteries is to develop a battery for stationary use. It doesn't have to store more power per kg of weight but it must be cheaper and have a very long life. That will free up lots of Li for vehicles. By simple supply and demand, it will also make car batteries cheaper and hence EVs as well.

The first versions of lithium sulphur batteries only lasted for 30 or so recharges before they went bad but current researchers have been able to get up to 4000 recharges from them and maybe more down the road as it advances.

Its the DOE not the DOD and 4 Million are not a "massive" amount of money for that matter

Lots of double speak, very short on reality. This channel hasn't changed.

What a nonsense video. Replaces pertinent and important facts with gloss and word salad. A four million dollar investment by the DOE is not a "massive investment" either. I have no idea from this video how real this technology is. Sad.
